I met a women named Salli who said her name was spelled with an i. At first I thought it was silly.

+1 to Steelers ownership. Shazier's got a long way to go, but it was good to see him moving under his own power on draft day.

At least this time, when Bolton tells the President that an Arab country has WMD's, he'll have real evidence.
Sarcastic?

More fatalistic.

Bolton was part of the brain trust saying Saddam had chemical WMD's, thus our main justification for invading Iraq. Iirc it turned out their evidence was a guy with a bullshit story and a milk truck. In Syria, the videos of the sick and the dead are pretty damning.

Just how much water can a leaky dumpster fire take on before all the rats flee,
Actually, the better question is, "How many rats can flee before new rats stop jumping in?" For example, John Bolton.. just when you thought Trump couldn't select anyone worse than Michael Flynn to be his National Security Advisor...

At least this time, when Bolton tells the President that an Arab country has WMD's, he'll have real evidence.

Foundation series could be amazing if done right.

It's a great read but I don't recall it having much in the way of action. Especially the original three volumes. That may be why so many studios have failed to bring it to the screen.

On the other hand, the Hari Seldon focused books done by Brin, Benford and (I forget) seem much more cinematic.

I'll just point out that Philip K. Dick's stories aren't all that action packed either, but they have made great movies.

Counterpoint: I, Robot starring Will Smith.

However, I hope you're correct and we get something like Blade Runner, Adjustment Bureau or Man In the High Castle.

Expect a Waltc post to extrapolate that there is no shit and there has never been any shit.
An FCC controlled by the companies it is designed to regulate makes for a better America.

In his perfect world Exxon Mobil, Dow Chemical, Dupont and BP would run the EPA.

Don't they already control the via Scott Pruitt?

Did we bury the lead in this headline? Jon Snow wants to meet with Zuckerberg. Remember what happened the last time Jon Snow met with the leader of a powerful organization?

Spoiler alert! [They got screwed. Literally!]

Are you sure it was Hawking that said that? I seem to recall he was always pretty firmly in the time travel = impossible camp.

And that's why I'm no super genius. Mr. Tact explains what I meant much better than I could.

I'm kind of torn between Pi day and Tau day as Tau day is on my birthday. However, given the choice of more pie or birthdays, I think I'll go with the pecan.

So long Stephen Hawking. I always felt smarter after hearing his theories. Unfortunately, like Chinese food, I'd often lose what tenuous grasp I had on concepts half an hour later. Preservation of information inside black holes anyone?

The only thing that seems to have stuck was when he said (paraphrasing) that, much like trying to go south of the south pole, you can't go back to a time before the beginning of the big bang.

To me, among Hawking's greatest attributes was no matter how bad a hand life dealt him, he always had something to contribute. On the other side of the coin, I think he desensitized the public (in a good way) to people with obvious physical disabilities. Thus helping us to look at the person instead of their appearance.

R.I.P. Stephen. May you wake up in a parallel universe where you can run with the bulls. Or have the bulls run with you.

I enjoy the Olympics and World Cup. They're the sports equivalent of a palette cleanser before we get into the meat and potatoes of NFL, March Madness, etc.
