So long Stephen Hawking. I always felt smarter after hearing his theories. Unfortunately, like Chinese food, I'd often lose what tenuous grasp I had on concepts half an hour later. Preservation of information inside black holes anyone?

The only thing that seems to have stuck was when he said (paraphrasing) that, much like trying to go south of the south pole, you can't go back to a time before the beginning of the big bang.

To me, among Hawking's greatest attributes was no matter how bad a hand life dealt him, he always had something to contribute. On the other side of the coin, I think he desensitized the public (in a good way) to people with obvious physical disabilities. Thus helping us to look at the person instead of their appearance.

R.I.P. Stephen. May you wake up in a parallel universe where you can run with the bulls. Or have the bulls run with you.

Supreme Court Snubs tRump in 'Dreamers' case

Wasn't congress supposed to do something about DACA in exchange for extending government funding? I guess good ol' Mitch McConnell is back to doing what he does best.

I enjoy the Olympics and World Cup. They're the sports equivalent of a palette cleanser before we get into the meat and potatoes of NFL, March Madness, etc.

There was no collusion, absolutely no collusion, no collusion.

If you repeat a lie often enough it becomes the truth.

Vitamin C cures the common cold. You only use 10% of your brain. Eating carrots improves your eyesight. Crime in the US is at an all-time high.

You forgot "Total Vindication" and it was Obama's fault. Yet the Orange One is strangely silent about what the Russians are actually doing.

That's pretty funny. But when you said best ever, I was hoping that the mayor would stick his hand down there and come back with a bloody stump.

Kicked the bull? Don't understand the reference -- a brief Google search was not helpful..
Never kick the bull in today's ootb media.

With idiots like that, it's no wonder aliens haven't contacted us.

So far, I haven't met anyone who hasn't liked Bright. It's not the best movie, and it has its flaws, but it's fun. I feel like the critics were watching a different movie, and I wonder if their review copy really was different somehow.
I enjoyed bright and the price was right.

Same. Better story/characters than half the shit Hollywood shovels out as blockbusters. It's not amazing by any stretch, but unless you can't stand Will Smith playing a Will Smith character, it's entertaining to watch.

I was on the fence at at first because seemed too much like Will Smith's Bad Boy meets Alien Nation. But once it got going it was a fun ride.

That's just the one they caught out. Apparently most if not all of Trumps nominees had to pass some sort of 'litmus' test in ideology as opposed to actual ability to provide fair trials.

This, the FCC, the attacks on media, going after Mueller, racial and religious bullying from THE bully pulpit, buddying up to Putin...I wonder if an actual Russian plant could do more harm to this country than what we're seeing now.

To Blues point about time flying by, 2018 and 2020 cannot come fast enough.

11. Re: Best TV Shows Of 2017 - NPR Dec 15, 2017, 12:28 afka Rossini

I'm really liking The Good Place from NPR's list. Although it's about dead people, it gets more story done in half an hour than The Walking Dead does in a season. And it's a comedy. Intentionally.

If you haven't seen it, season one is available on Netflix. Season two is currently airing (on NBC in the U.S.).

The first two in the reboot have been pretty good. But the only time Lara used two pistols was at the very end of the first game. So for me, no dual wield, no sale.

That was some rocket. Even before it launched, I was disturbed by the woman holding the Coke bottle with her bare hands as the guy poured liquid nitrogen into it. Sure he was using a funnel but given how skittish she was, what would have happened if that had spilled onto her hands?
