So does it look like the new soldier class is essentially a mech?

The video looks like you get to add Johnny 5.1 to your team, yeah.

It's interesting that the series is on its third designer in three versions.

While your statement is true at face value, the reality is Ed Beach was the designer for both of the Civ V expansions as well as the core of Civ VI.

I never really played anything beyond the vanilla Sins of a Solar Empire, but I did enjoy that. Pretty crazy that they are still putting out DLC. I might have to give it a try assuming I can find my disc.

If you registered your game with Stardock then you should still be able to download it from them.

I downloaded it, but based on these comments, just going to delete it.

Try it before you do so. You might find yourself liking the game.

I for one enjoyed playing it.

When you see someone referring to a price that's different from what you see, you can safely assume they're talking about their own currency.

I assume little when I'm having a discussion on the InterWebs. Especially when the changed number is the one adjacent on a keyboard to the number I expect to see.

$35? Lol! Yeah, see you in a year or two.

The other post had a typo, or they're not using the US pricing. It's $25 in the States.

Make a post out of it, then go do something productive with your day.

Wait, no. It's the weekend. How about this:

Make a post out of it, then go do something unproductive. It's the weekend!

About an hour in to it and really digging it. It's cut out of some of the density of CK2 and streamlined a lot of the interface so it is much, much more approachable.

I was watching a preview build a week or two ago, when a question popped into my head. "I wonder if you can set the game to automatically pause when an event occurs?" Is the option available in the game?

So I'm not really a 4X guy.

But this game looks interesting and rockpapershotgun says it's good.

Please report.

Check out some Let's Play videos on YouTube. I admit that I am a little late in discovering them (started with Civ: Beyond Earth) but they've been great in helping me figure out if I want to pick something up. I find them to be more reliable than a written review.

Off topic, but yeah Squares first leap into voice acting is cringe worthy when I went through 10 recently. Auron and Lulu's were ok - I just wish Square would include the Japanese dub in their voice acted games. Anyways I stuck with it for the turn based battles and story, and skipped some of the hair-pulling, ludicrously bordering on impossible secret challenges.

Tell me about it. The Celestial Weapons? Caladblog is do-able with enough time/luck. Nirvana is straight forward. World Champion is also straightforward, but who actually uses Wakka as a regular character? Spirit Lance aggravated me. Onion Knight is one I never even tried. I can't avoid two lightning bolts, let alone two hundred. Masamune was the easiest one to pick up, while Godhand was actually fun to grab.

Really?

(Just kidding. I did hate Tidus, but 10 was very far from a bad game.)

I didn't say the game was perfect, just that I liked it. And I don't hate Tidus. I grew up with the children of people in the public eye. Some of them resented their parent's fame and success, and resented their parents for it. So he didn't grate on me. And I did find his romance with Yuna to be one of the most natural ones in the FF series of games.

Well I never played it and many people say it was substantially the best FF game... we'll see.

I love me some X, picked up the PS3 version. I'm running through it using the Expert Sphere Grid, when I want my console fix.

Jeez, those Orion devs sound pretty arrogant.

A certain level of arrogance is needed for this industry, otherwise you'll let Teh Interwebs dictate your game to you. In this case, I'm happy to let the devs be, as I'm having fun with the game.

If the 2001 film can torpedo Apple's attempts to patent tablets, then Shadowrun can torpedo Samsung's attempt to patent these contact lenses.

What are you talking about? Skyrim and Fallout 3 both had 'horse armor' DLCs along with the bigger ones.

Which Fallout 3 DLC would you consider to be "horse armor"?

As long as websites farm out their ads to third-party companies who don't vet the content of the ads, then people like me will block ads and deny those sites their ad revenue. I've cleaned up too many systems that were infected by a drive-by bug embedded in an ad.
