According the various recording artists, Youtube pays them nothing and Pandora pays them a mere pittance, i.e. less than radio play pays.

This is why concert tickets are all $100+ now.

Now put your tinny earbuds back in and continue to steal.

Sounds like the Korporate chislers have made inroads at the chocolate factory. Never mind being a lucrative advertising income source, there is always MOAR!

Throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

The trailers and some of the preview gameplay videos are enticing, however given the poor state of the last few Total War releases, I am going to pass on this until it becomes clear it is not a buggy mess with tons of grognard busywork.

Love the art style, Love Warhamer.

9. Re: Descent: Underground Early Access Oct 23, 2015, 06:34 Bub

I played Descent and Descent II, for ages and loved it madly.

I would love to see this gain a large following, but judging from the failure of other somewhat newtonian space sims to attrack large enough audiences these days, and from the general average gamers complaint that copy cats like Miner Wars is too hard, I doubt this will attract enough players to make online worth it.

I really like the ability to circle strafe and slide around corners guns blazing, however most kids these days seem to prefer space ships that fly like they are in atmosphere, where you have to carve your turns and side strafing is not a thing.

Lastly unless they have amped up the gameplay, high resolution graphics is not enough for me to want to play a deserted knock off.
I might pop for it when it hits the bargin bins.

If Back to the Future had been accurate it would have been a depressing movie. Sidewalks and cafes filled with people ignoring each other while staring intently at fondle slabs.

We have flying cars, only they are low flying, the driver is looking at their phone and driving with one hand while flying through red lights.

Jeb just wants to keep all that gummit funds flowing to his cronies at Blackwater and all the contractors that now run the Armed Forces.

Did you know that in war zones, there is no KP in the army now, that is done by contractors. Almost everything but shooting that enlisted men used to do is now done by cronie contractors.

19. Re: PAYDAY 2 Microtransaction Tweak Oct 22, 2015, 07:06 Bub

This tweak does not change it from Pay 2 Win. Less than 1% drop rate more than likely, simply makes P2W more enticing.

I almost got this on Steam after watching the promotional videos, but then it looked too much like APB, and now this P2W move certifies it as something to stay away from. Whaler games are not my cuppa.

Looks an awful amount like the Medieval / Space Engineers games.

I played over 500 hours of Space Engineers and it was fun, but once you build a big dream ship or two, it gets repetitive.

64. Re: Out of the Blue -SW trailer Oct 21, 2015, 06:52 Bub

I missed Lost when it was broadcast, and recently binge watched the entire 6 years and loved it. I can see now why Hollywood wants to throw everything in Abram's lap. He did a great job with the Star Trek reboots and that is coming from a dyed-in-the-wool Treky.

The SW Trailer looks like he is re-igniting the excitement and wonder of the SW universe, where as Lucas became bored and just went through the motions on the last few. Looking forward to this holiday season.

Back in the day, we used to play combat with water pistols. Great fun.

These days, my graying body is way to slow for real running and diving, and crouching, so all my combat now is virtual, but still
satisfying.

Both Google/Youtube and Apple lobbyist have succeeded in making them hold harmless of stealing intellectual property in the case of Youtube, and Apple/Android bunch for destroying privacy. Korporate bought legalized stealing and spying.

Definitely a Whale game.

Pay to Win all the way, $160 bucks for a good fighter.

Add Hollywood FMV out of the 90's and you just scared off
most of the market other than Whales.

Another year, and a few more mini-featurettes now in beta form, plus 5 times more new additional features added to the plan. Blah, Blah, same old story, string em along Chris.

I still can't get over the idea of using Hollywood actors in FMV these days, that is just so 90's and so over.

3. Re: etc. Improve Life - Steam Backlog Oct 19, 2015, 07:14 Bub

Yea right, not every one has multi terabyte drives.

It takes hours to download and install most of the games I have on Steam and I only have room for two or three max left on my 5 year old computer.

I find many games I thought I would like to become tedious and boring in the first 20 minutes or so, especially if most of that is spent trying to decode the keyboard control scheme.

I have imprinted keyboard schemes for WOW, Perfect World, Supreme Commander, Sniper Elite and Red Orchestra and I find myself going back to them rather than have to forcefully cram another completely different keyboard control scheme into my gray matter and muscle memory.

Procedurally Generated.

Sounds sexy, but in reality this has been used in online games for ages.

Anarchy Online had procedurally generated dungeon missions a decade ago.

All it means is your will see:
X number of textures
x number of shapes
x number of layouts
x number of mobs
x number of resources
x number of difficulty levels

You very quickly learn to recognize each x factor in the permutations you see, and the wonder and surprise is gone.

The usual mix of lost fanboys desparate to make sense and rationalize the latest reaming, a few entertained train wreck gawkers, and the first time screw-ies.

Korporate Amerika ruins everything it touches.

Blizzard has gone so korporate. They still have a potential gold mine in WOW but seem to be letting it languish, while going for this cash grab titles like Hearth and sure to be cash shopped Overwatch, or the buy lots of champs other game HOTS.

Korp always likes that which takes the least people to produce the greatest profit. Artisnal projects like WOW just don't fit Korporate culture.

You will do fine.

You are used to stuff passing through in one direction every day.
This is just a one day out of the year when a very small thing goes the other way.

The wieght loss is an old wives tale.

Just don't drink the stuff unless your three steps from a head.

So what are the facts Here:

CR is still playing movie director and spending lavishly on starpower.

CR is giving out tons of worthless, non-existent, virtual goodies.

CR is claiming that a)he has hornswaggled over a million people and b) he plans to hornswaggle some more.

And the suckers eat it up.

I turned off Win7 auto update long ago, only use Chrome and Firefox, and guess what, system runs solid, no virus
