So soon we forget it was HP that perfected and lead the market with laser printers.

The laser printer was HPs highpoint, management tomfoolery led to it's ruin.

Dominated by huge online retailers, yet this is for general aviation, not commercial for which a task group has yet to be formed.

More restrictive and costly licensing for amateurs and freelance professionals, as this group is clearly looking out for the interests of big online retailers.

Credit is due to the creative writing skills of the person charged with churning these updates out.

Hum, first write a paragraph or two of cheery, out of the context of when the game will actually be finished, totally rosy ecstatic moans.

Follow that up with some lists pulled direct from all the junior programmers weekly reports and reworded to sound positive.

The long con just keeps getting longer.

Talk about your angry-fruit-salad color scheme!

Also, was all that jerkiness added post production,
or does the game stutter that much

6. Re: Morning Mobilization self drive Oct 31, 2015, 06:44 Bub

I am wondering if self driving cars do not give off subtle passive or aggressive ques that people driving send. Inching into a left turn at an intersection, instead of siting completely still for example. Coming to a very slow almost never stopping at a red light versus neatly stopping at the white line. Without these ques, real drivers have less information about what your cars most likely next move will be.

14. Re: Evening Tech Bits - sound card Oct 30, 2015, 07:00 Bub

Any "review" or evaluation of sound tech that is not based on blind AB testing is pure rubbish, simply the subjective opinion of a poser.

I am sure if I spent $4000 on external gear, giant Klipsh horns that take up half a room, discreet amps, and pre-amps, it would win in an AB test versus my SoundBlaster over headphones.

Sound cards are just as much about convenience, saving space, yet retaining enough quality to still entertain you.

If you want to spend $4000 bucks, be my guest, I am subjectively quite happy with my under $40 soundblaster and headphones.

Feature creep on a unfinished and long delayed game = Chris Roberts patented string-em along while bilking the whales marketing technique.

Not content with massive add sales and equally massive personal data mining, Youtube/Google seem to be throwing the baby out with the bathwater. People like PewPewDie will wither, as their fame dies when the average nonpaying viewer never sees them or cares about them.

Tubing has always been about viewer numbers, turning that pyramid upside down to where only the top 1% of whales are your audience, guarantees virtual obscurity.

Despite their public pronouncements this is the Chocolate Factory implementing their own death to neutrality in the online market place.

I doubt it will turn a profit and think it will only decrease traffic and hence less add revenue and personal data mining harvests.

2. Re: Evening Metaverse Amazon/Sears Oct 29, 2015, 06:38 Bub

Amazon has pretty much eaten Sears Roebucks lunch.

Goes to show what corporate infighting between divisions and the resistance to change can doom a company who, if they had embraced new technology and realized brick and mortar has had its day, they could have been Amazon.

If you did not have a car, or lived out in the country, you used to scan the huge Sears catalog and buy things by mail order. Anything, from tools to pants, to tractors, to TVs. They just could not grasp the change that was passing them by.

FPS have never been about eye-candy, and most top competitors always run at the lowest detail settings. Every eye-candy FPS previously published has always run a poor 3rd or worse to the games with the fastest and cleanest design. Unreal Tournament never came close to Quake numbers.

A FPS with high detail eye candy, I am doubtful.

Given MSs recent Win10 penchant for spying, You can't tell me they are not harvesting all the data they can from the infected pcs on these botnets.

I hate flash, now matter how frequently it updates, it crashes Firefox at least two or three times a day for me. I wish MS and webcites would follow Googles lead and only use HTML5 for videos and such.

News Comments > The Park Released
19. Re: The Park Released Oct 28, 2015, 07:10 Bub

Sigh, another stake in the heart of MMO's by one of the earlyest and best online MMO's (Anarchy Online) producers Funcom.

Blizzard seems to be following the Funcom strategy, of reducing dev costs and basically just stringing on existing MMO players while expanding into games with wider audiences.

I love MMOs, and this just makes me sad.

I guess the bright side is that if you do play an MMO now there are far less obscene 12 year olds mouthing off in dungeons now.
