Rest in Peace George Barris.

He created some of the most original and beautiful custom cars and hot rods ever seen. To view his cars was to be inspired.

News Comments > System Shock Remake Screenshots
22. Re: System Shock Remake Screenshots Nov 27, 2015, 06:48 Bub

Compare System Shock to its contemporaries. SS came out in 1994 about the same time Doom was also a big hit.

Fast paced shooter Doom was this awful brown smear with a few red bits thrown in, almost no story, and just a simple FPS.

SS on the other hand had a very wide and varied pallet. It introduced automap, many different kinds of weapons, and shields, was well as various power ups. The story was complex and shifted from the real to the virtual often. You guessed Showdan was nuts, but there was a method to her madness.

I would play a re-skinned SS any day.

SS2 was not so good. While parts of it were well detailed and worked out, other parts seemed slapdash like the parts inside of the giant organism. It had its moments, but never comes close to the original. To me it ran a distant second to the Dues Ex that was out at the same time.

Given the minimal work ethic of today's devs, I highly doubt a good SS3 will ever see the light of day.

I have to admit these trailers look fantastic, but that house has such a bad reputation given the last 3 or 4 total war releases being buggy and partially broken, I'm in wait and see mode.

Great example of how governments and law enforcement does not make it a priority to protect individuals from cyber crime. The only cyber crime they care about is anti-corporate cyber crime.

Judges need to go the way of kings. They are just fancy puppets for mulit-nationals to influence to get around laws passed by people they have yet to control.

I don't think it was coincidence that JFK, RFK, MLK, and John Lennon were all the target of hits between 1963 and 1980. How might our world look if they had lived?

1. Re: Morning Safety Dance SQL Nov 24, 2015, 07:12 Bub

High level managers in small to mid sized organizations, are soley focused on advancing or at least securing their position. They love open source software as it costs little. They can cow subordinates with little to no DB admin skills into "doing their tech thing" and getting a just good enough install of SQL running.

These things are never patched, and usually run on versions that are years old. Little wonder even script kiddies can bust them.

its clear someone is paying a slew of graphic artists on highend workstations to churn out these teasers and not to forget the jpegs of ships to be sold, rather than actually say deliver a product.

Have always been a Bowie fan, but this is a true WTF.

He is starting to look like Leonard Nimoy in his last years.

Still has the moves though.

News Comments > Space Engineers Free Weekend
6. Re: Space Engineers Free Weekend Nov 21, 2015, 06:14 Bub

This game jumped the shark when it merged with the planets of medieval engineers. I put a good 500 hours into this game and had fun for a while, but eventually got tired of the extremely long load times, buggy things like exploding parts, and flakey mods.

If you like you games rough around the edges by all means go for it.

MMM, mmm, bugs, and plenty of em! Gotta love inefficient spagetti code that grinds to a crawl while the dev struggles to slap even more 'features' on top. This will still be 'early access' five years from now. In this case 'early access' means buggy and slow.

Steam - too slow, too late, too limited.

Reuters - They just want to keep thier system costs down, and would rather not have to pay for the bandwidth and cpu crunching of huge RAW files. The editing argument is just a straw man.

So, if you want to watch xyz stream, it will eventually bite you when you hit our low low data caps and lose access, but if you watch our stream, well it will only cost you $15 a month over and above your internet service. Gatekeeping content, nah not us!
