I think it's a hoot, Miss Anti-Objectification and Sexualization of women, wearing hoop earrings big enough to drive a truck through.

This person has years to go before they any clue.

Bank talk, gotta love it. How else can the 1% bamboozle more profit out of our economy.

If you understood what just transpired, please explain it in plain
English with no banker buzzwords.

And what was the relationship between Activision, Vivendi and Blizzard?

When I was a kid, I could not understand how Germany fell for Hitler and his program.

Now when I see how easily some people fall for similar scam/cults like CR's long con it makes perfect sense.

I recently retired after running several Drupal sites for years.

This is not news, it is SOP with Drupal.

Drupal is a wonderful and powerful website engine, but keeping it updated and patched and worst of all the non-backward compatibility of new version releases is pure hell. Glad that is behind me.

7. Re: Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak Trailer Jan 9, 2016, 08:33 Bub

Retro-ing a space RTS to a terrestrial one, sounds retarded to me.

As a long time Homeworld addict, the only thing about this that attracts me is the inclusion of Homeworld remastered in the preorder.

I was about to buy it for that, till I read the requirements, which are beyond my 9 year old game laptop. Oh well maybe next year when I get my usual decade rig replacement.

There was a good article a month or so ago that explained how VR actually causes more problems than it solves in most PC game formats.

Take a FPS for example, to use your neck effectively in a fast paced FPS would be strain inducing.

If you own Yahoo stock, it is time to unload.

They only way this force reduction will help is if it starts at the top.

I think Twit has seen the writting on the wall, and knows that the joy ride is coming to an end.

I just don't see a business model for narcissist one liners.

I have no doubt that plenty of trust fund kids, one-percenters, and game whales will will jump on this, gladly putting up with the downsides of buying a first generation product, however I doubt game publishers will be willing to code in the support unless they add a premium to the game versions with it.

The new MS SOP, force users to upgrade, and build in obsolescence by baking in the registry in a way that it is bound to get clogged in a few years, and slow performance, motivating yet another upgrade.

The registry is a really bad hack, and MS should be ashamed it even exists.

France has the right idea, let the majority decide what holiday it is, so Merry Christmas. If you want to celebrate something else, go back to the country where it is celebrated natively. You don't see Israel calling Hanuka 'Happy Holidays'.

Regarding the next Mars lander. Typical, this is why it is so easy for congress to take money away from Nasa and give it to billionaires who pay other less fortunate people to experiment with completely unstable and lethal Nazi rocket fuel based space projects.

I bought this, and was pretty disappointed, you start with very limited dinky bot, that typically gets one shot in a manner of seconds after entering PVP.

68. Re: Star Citizen Procedurally Generated Planets Dec 18, 2015, 06:33 Bub

Notice how they only hinted that the CGI reel was from ingame, very slick lying craft there.

Proceduraly generated stuff us usually crap-tastic.

Here is how it works:

* have 14 different tile sets
* have 5 different skyboxes
* have 12 different terrain types
* have 8 different fauna types
* have 4 different indigent life forms

Put each set in a different hat, then take one from each and mix, rinse and repeat.

Garbage in, Garbage out. What you get is cookie cutter planets with about as much personality as Dan Quayle.

News Comments > Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak Next Month
22. Re: Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak Next Month Dec 17, 2015, 07:11 Bub

The Planet sickness. There seems to be a vogue going on right now with space based game software houses giving up on space and retreating to action on planets. (Space Engineers, Elite, etc.)

I loved all the Homeworld games because they were in space, ie. 6 degrees of freedom. Terrestrial combat is just so lame compared to space.

Parts of the video are at least a decade old. This property has been kicking around for years.

I will wait for the release and see what real players make of it first, be we allready have tons of surface RTS that are quite good.

More Fascism and Corporate socialism. Like someone else said that paltry fine is likely less than it would have cost them to dispose of the waste properly.

While the media wastes it time on the carrot topped buffon, the party that wants to dismantle the social safetynet is able to run without having to mention their true intent.

Disney is king of the marketing paraphernalia crowd all centered on movies. They have never been know for producing 'deep' games, but games that are simply just another way to milk movie IPs.

The only game Disney ever made that was close to 'deep' and serious fun was Stunt Island, and they condemned it to benign neglect even though it had a great fan base for years.

I used to read Boing Boing until I realized what a self absorbed 1% trust fund kid he was, with his faux hippy lifestyle while jetting around the world.

Please label any links to his site with a Boing spoiler so I can avoid his kind as much as possible.
