Of course its NYC getting it and not New York State. Would be amazing State wide, not that it would work past Saratoga anyways. After that the NY Rednecks would probably think the devices are "gov'ment mind control boxes" and pull them out of the ground with chains attached to trucks. (I'm from there, so before somebody makes a dumb comment about that... I know more about the place then you do)

But its a cool device, and really shows how NYC is not a total dump it was back in the pre-90's. More power to this idea, public charger's too very nice in an emergency if your batteries drain.

I think this line

The survey asked 1,042 Americans a number of questions regarding various civil rights, in the light of the recent terror attacks in both the US and abroad.

Sums up alot, Terrorism abroad. Americans are probably the most skittish of people on the planet. Despite the fact the news leaves out alot of terrorist attacks now. Sure the serious ones get coverage, but the smaller ones like Bomb vests, and kidnappings. Nope nothing. But the moment they get wind of it. "need to deploy troops" "Take my freedoms! take my privacy! keep me safe" Seems to be all you hear.

Out of all the survey respondents under 30, only a third supported the idea of warrantless Internet surveillance. In contrast, two-thirds of Americans over the age of 30 supported the idea.

And here is good evidence of a generational gap, between people who understand how Internet affects there modern life. And how the older set are less worried and more willing to give it up, as it played less of an important role. Alot like how the Chip&Pin system took so long to get root in the US. People there just keep alot of status quo lifestyle.

But as mentioned, its only 1,000 people and that small of a group changes answer's due to dumb luck. Maybe they hit more Scared of terrorism people that day then not. Sadly these are the polls politicians love to quote and use for new law making, so it counts.

I bought Minceaft back when it was just leaving Alpha. I enjoyed Vanilla, then mods, rented server's for a Steam Group as well as a private one. I have alot of fun with it when I do pick it up from time to time now.

The appeal factor now is to pickup a new mod pack and try to get to the end game with it. Or to watch others do that on Youtube. That to me makes Minecraft still tick. Vanilla, nope.

Fallout 4 comes across as a JJ Abrams style of Fallout games. If you try to forget how the REAL story and world is and try to play the game as a fresh IP, its easier to digest.

But even then those who do, see the game as some sort of Sims type of game, with getting lost in settlement building. So it might be easier to digest but still not good for anyone.

I gave the game 160 hours and 100% completion. I actually just uninstalled it 2 days ago. Until somebody does some amazing reworking of the game with the GECK, there is no point having it on my HD.

The only thing they are ducking away from is more European Pro-Consumer laws. Note they said they will "with respect to RELEVANT European laws" So in other words only what they want to follow or what is court ordered after a lawsuit which is a bit harder to accomplish over here.

Essentially this was a non-issue. People lost their shit over hashed out phone numbers and credit card numbers.

I'm sure Valve was caught off guard by the blow-back. In their eyes, nothing really happened.

+1, the usual suspects freaking out over nothing.
First world problems strike again.

In some payment cases it was shown to give out home addresses. If its such a non-issue then you would be ok posting your home address here along with your name. Not that I personally care to have it, but if its such a non-big deal then your ok with the idea so by all means go ahead.

I assume your making fun of a person with bad English typing a fake message into Steam. Not creative and you wasted your time. Even more so the facts show it was at worse a DDoS which is not hacking. Its an annoyance tool and a system destroyer at worst, not a Hacker.

Looked fairly accurate to the video, game. Well it was filmed outside of the U.S. so he did not get instantly shot by a passing cop, while he held a movie prop.

Its a weird thing to hear how people on the Job usually play video games. On some of my MMO's I played I met Army officer's who were on the job, on base, playing and had to Alt-Tab to hide the game from the boss. At least that is what they said.

Doing it in a Job's down time I think is fine, I mean as a 911 person your job is to stare at a screen until a call comes in. Passing the time with a game I understand. But you have a Job to do there, and important one lives depend on. Put the damn game down when something happens.

For internet speed I would make some snarky comment, But having lived in that nightmare of TWC internet out in the sticks, with 1.8MB/s down I'm going to say good job, keep improving US Internet speeds. Honestly it can only go up.

About the idea that Data caps are something though... that pile of nonsense can go straight to hell!

When this happened all they had to do was even put up a Steam service is down due to technical issues message. Instead they did something scary like let word of mouth get to people, and fearing account information is being stolen.

Load up steam, store is down or acting funny. Check around with friends and websites, it goes from DDoS attack, to Header caching problem, to a hacker attack thanks to the new form of Cyber Terrorism of hacking for the lulz.

That is what actually happened that day to anybody that gives a fly about there growing expensive Steam accounts. And to somebody not wanting to share payment details to just anybody.

5-Days to get to the very bottom of what happened? ok that's fine. But day one, Soon as they knew there was something going on, there should have been at least a warning or something official. Not second hand guessing as it was off a Google search like I was doing.

Well they created this environment, still stuck in between Cable and Internet providing. One funds the other. They really could just go internet only increase speeds (UPLOADING SPEED!!) and finally spread into enemy territory and create actual competition.

But nah keep your territories, keep running peoples wallets into the ground! American business practice without any supporting laws for consumers that's the way to do it!

For Diversity: We had a program like that in my old job where managers had to go to the main office to attend a Diversify class. Meant nothing to the people they sent, as my company was just happy to keep any talent at whatever low wage they could. So they didn't care about background of the employee.

How do they know that guy blew up the condom machine? Maybe he was framed by unstoppable gonorrhea.

most likely a "refugee" who's religious beliefs don't allow contraception.

They blew it up for fun, it was German citizens who did it as well.

Well, says he's returning to the US. I would have to give up a job here as well. Its more then likely a personal reason he had to go back. It would take a personal reason for me to leave my new country as well.

Moving to Europe my card is actually kinda worthless because it lacks a Chip. And I had to learn to use my new bank card here, really chip and pin is not hard do it 3-4 times and it becomes second nature. Its less difficult then tying your shoes! come on.

Iíve played it since [being offered the job] mainly to get an idea of the physicality of the character.í

Fair enough, actually. Doing background research into how the Character is in game. /cheers for that at least. Shows somebody in the film will be trying.

And you cannot get deep into the main character anyways. Aside from his family heritage story line, the guy is a cardboard cut out of a game character if I ever seen one. I think its designed to let you play as "yourself" I guess. Honestly seen more depth in GTA:V's characters'.

Luckily I just flash my passport on flying so I bypass any Driver's License problem. Being from NY though is np I think.

And for Internet-Connected homes, the Moral of the story there is, Change your objects password at least once! Do not leave it on default. despite the fact its temptingly easy to just leave it.

I dunno try compiling Video's with Adobe without leaving it running for hours, that takes some monster hardware, even if its more niche then gaming.

But yeah Article is for I guess "mainstream" PC use, for like offices and crap. Where XP is still king because... reasons I guess.

Gaming is a Niche thing with it, and have to view the article in that light.

It generally works and its a good way to see what is being done in a game. Since every ones Steam has to check in with Valve every so often. You can only stay in offline so long before it wants or tries checking in, and then updates your achievements for the game. And yeah Steamspy did an example of it. I'm just giving it my example.

The Achievements earned for this game show some surprising numbers in my view. 83% played the first Single player mission which is required. 77% earned the first achievement of playing GTA Online (which happens soon as you make a char and start it at all). And the Single player story missions are not being played alot. People are buying this game for Multi-player mainly and single second, I think.
