Played a bit of this in early EA. It's a fun narrative-driven open world game. But it was clearly designed as a co-op experience. It wasn't balanced too well for solo play, at least when I played. Maybe it's different now but I got absolutely wrecked by bigger critters, even while decked out with the best gear I could find at the time. I'll give 1.0 a try, but I might have to fire it up on easy mode.

Hope this isn't as stupidly woke and most claim.

It already is. The protagonist is female and that's enough to trigger the woke police, which is a good thing. The more "woke", the better IMO because it pisses off the right people. And that's always a good thing. Hope they add a black gay character for some extra seething. Can't get too excited about it though as the company behind it just sucks, and without Dan Houser I'm skeptical they will be able to come up with a compelling narrative.

The first time I was PK'ed was in UO, and I knew I didn't like PVP then and there.

The interaction is a bit fuzzy, but it went something like this: me (chat): "Hello!" The other player attacks and kills my character and steals what little I have.

Oh, cool that you lived long enough to have an interaction. My first, and last, PVP experience in an MMO was on the Darktide PVP server in Asheron's Call. Created character there out of curiosity, logged in, killed before I got to the first town. Logged out and never went back.

I don't know about UO, but in Asheron's Call (Darktide specifically) there were no safe zones or PK restrictions at all. You were fair game as soon as you logged in. So unfortunately that meant that high level players would hang around spawn zones waiting for newbies to come in, and just obliterate them. I guess some people enjoyed it, but that's no fun for me.

I bought CP2077 on GoG, where I buy pretty much anything single player. But CDPR claims GoG is hemorrhaging money, I don't know what they can do to shift people to buy from them instead of Steam. Also GoG gets delayed patches sometimes, and sometimes companies don't even release their games there. It's a sorry state of affairs.

It sucks but I don't think "DRM free" is a a very big selling point to most gamers, at least not enough to make GoG the default choice instead of Steam. People are comfortable with the Steam ecosystem (friends, achievements, etc.) and just don't bother to consider other options.

Looks like Atari is trying to jump onto the IP mashup bandwagon. Problem is, these are IPs that no one gives a crap about. If they're trying to appeal to boomers (using the term colloquially) who played these games in the 80s growing up, I think they failed pretty hard. I fall into that category and I don't want to go back to that.

Oh, there is tons of variety. Left mouse button and right mouse button. Two awesome buttons all at once. Blizzard are the emperors of great and complex game design.

Strange way to gauge gameplay variety and complexity. You just described pretty much every PC game ever. D3 actually did have tons of build variety, much more than D2, and I expect D4 to be at least on par with D3 in that regard.

Not sure why this is really a big deal, pretty much the same grind and formula, run here kill this, run there kill that and destroy this.

Pretty much the same with any of these types of games.

You describe the formula as "run here, kill this" as if it's a bad thing! It's not for everyone but I enjoy these games as long as there is some variety in the methods of destruction at my disposal. Even better if it's well-polished, which is one reason why I've always preferred the Diablo franchise over games like PoE or Grim Dawn. I just want to explode demons and have it look and sound good!

Not really sure what Rockstar loses from this, or how it's a nightmare for them. It's not like anyone is going to avoid buying the game because of the state of an obvious debug version of the game with debug overlays covering 90% of it.

The leaked videos are harmless, but source code or story spoilers being leaked could be a nightmare for them. If the game isn't too far off, they should just make an official announcement and get the hype train going to discourage future leaks.

If you can afford $34k in microtransactions in Diablo Immortal, $34k is nothing to you and you can just buy it again anyway. It's amazing the length even the super wealthy will go to in order to save a couple bucks. Don't buy from 3rd party sellers, Jack.

Um, he indicated that Witcher 3 remaster is on track for release later this year... Well, we have a bit more than 3 months to go left and not 1 screenshot leaked, lol. I'm hoping big on it because I would love to give another playthrough.

Well, the hype train for remasters like this don't really kick into gear until just before release usually, so I wouldn't expect any media until it's nearly finished, which hopefully will be soon.

I watched RoP with an open mind since I'm a bit of a "Tolken purist" and I hate it when people screw with the lore when adapting his works

Did you have a similar problem with the original LotR films? I'm not too familiar with the lore but I know that some characters were removed entirely, and the timeline of events is a bit different in the films. I do remember hearing such complains back in the day but I think even most Tolken purists regard them as classics today. Just curious what you think of them.

I made the mistake of reading comments on a Dr. Anthony Fauci article on Breitbart.
The majority of those posters should be behind bars. Death threats, wishing he was dead, saying he was going to be killed.
Zero moderation, It was nuts.

And that's why these will always fail. Twitter + more racism and death threats doesn't sound all that appealing to anyone outside of a small minority of lunatics. What kinds of ads are they running over there on TS? Tactical cosplay gear and boner pills? I get it, they're pissed that they can't misgender and threaten people on Twitter and they need an outlet for that. Sucks to be them, I guess. I can't imagine being that hate-filled and bigoted.

I'm not even sure if it is physically possible to produce a more generic looking trailer than this. Is it?

I think Godfall wins that crown. Other than that, the ESO trailers usually stand out as generic and dull. I thought this was a step above those, but yea, a little generic.

I don’t get the Musk worship. Especially if you only half ass follow the story. But whatever.

The story of how he wanted to buy it, the info he was given wasn't correct, wanted more info, wanted to back out of the deal, Twitter suing him to finish the purchase instead of just taking the 1 billion for not buying it, and now a whistle blower?
Did I miss anything in my "half-assed" attempt at following the story?

It's not Musk worship, but I don't have a hard-on of hate for him either like people here/
He's just a guy, and yet many people on this site go at him like he ran over your pet and pissed in your computer cases.

If I agreed to purchase your car for $100,000, sight unseen and without knowing anything about it, and we had a purchase agreement all signed and everything, then I decided that I wanted to back out of the deal once I found out the car was not a Porche 911, you'd probably be pretty miffed and try to force me to go through with the deal that we had already agreed upon. My stupidity and buyer's remorse would not be your problem.

Not that I care about LotR anymore anyway, but I really hate this trend of showing a 5 second trailer of the trailer, before the trailer starts. I know why they do it. But I still hate it.

The man has no shame.

Go read the story on CNN. Musk is on to something.

Nah, pure buyer's remorse. He shouldn't have agreed to buy if he had doubts. He's looking for any excuse to get out of it.

Edit: And if you're referring to the whistleblower article on CNN, that has nothing to do with Musk or his deal to buy Twitter. He still agreed to buy the company. Although it may wind up helping him back out of the deal. A stroke of luck for him, maybe, but he wasn't "on to" anything.
