My neighbourhood is rumoured to be a target tonight, so I'm guarding the house all night with my taser, a barrel of water (for fires) and my cellphone camera (to record).

I went to a LAN party and they didn't have enough power. So a few small portable generators were brought in.
I was a little paranoid cuz I was on the generator side and used my APC UPS.
My system would boot and then immediately crash.
Ended up plugging it directly into the generator and it ran fine.
Wish I'd had an o-scope to see what sort of noise was riding the waves.
A friend was in the IT department where I worked and he would get the best throwaways.
I'll never forget the commercial grade APC line conditioner he snagged, that was drool worthy.
