Our gaming group of 5 players played Squad44 last night. Fortunately, the immature FNG’s did not show up during the Steam Free Weekend. There is a learning curve to learn each role but when each squad member performs their role and the communication & coordination are strong, it’s a thing of beauty. You really don’t stand a chance as a lone wolf run & gunner so learn how to communicate & coordinate. The sessions last night were meat grinders and somewhat frustrating but we ultimately persevered. Fun game for those that want something more like a military sim and less like an arcade shooter.

At the Commodore over the years I have seen Squeeze, Psychedelic Furs, Steven Page, Nazareth, Spirit of the West, Colin James, and the Headpins. It’s the best venue to see artists in Vancouver because it’s a small, intimate setting. I check their schedule regularly. I travel 350 miles south to attend.

That 100 Best Westerns List is pure crap. There’s no mention of “My Name is Nobody”, an amazing film starring Terrence Hill and Henry Fonda that should be in the top 3, but laughably “Blazing Saddles” scores higher than “Tombstone”, “No Country for Old Men” (should be in top ten), and “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid”. UNBELIEVABLE! SERIOUSLY?!

I saw Nick Lowe and Los Straitjackets a year ago at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver and Nick Lowe and Ron Sexsmith doing acoustic sets at the Commodore in Vancouver a few weeks ago. The Los Straitjackets are fantastic. Highlights of the acoustic set were hearing Nick Lowe cover “Alison” by Elvis Costello. I may be wrong; it could be Nick’s song. Also, “Peace, Love, & Understanding” and “Cruel to be Kind” were sung as a duet with Ron Sexsmith accompanying. Sexsmith is a brilliant acoustic guitarist. Check out Nick’s recent material because it’s fantastic. See him while you can.
But the way, it’s too bad your comment about Nick Lowe was hijacked by the Sabbath fans.

Should have won the Oscar for Best Picture. Shawn Mendes’ vision was a real innovation and perfectly achieved. I have watched the film many times.

If EA improves VR support I might consider it. I am looking for an F1 simulator not a kid’s game. If they focus on improving the simulation aspects and fix the VR support, I might buy.

I have owned a HP Reverb G2 for about 6 months and have tried it with a number of different titles. While it is fun in some titles, it’s only a novelty and the fun wears off after a few weeks. Where VR is almost essential is in flight sims because flight sims are all about situational awareness and sighting the enemy before they sight you so you can get an energy advantage. It’s not as essential but incredibly cool in racing sims because you feel like you are in the car and in a crowded corner you can see exactly the position of the other cars relative to your position. Lastly, maximizing your speed through a corner is all about having your outside tires on the absolute outside edge of the track so you brake less and can carry more speed through the corner. Before VR, I thought I was driving on the outside edge of the track but I was not. So in summary, VR is a novelty unless you are a dedicated flight simmer or racing simmer. Better off spending your money on an ultra wide monitor.

An interesting read. Glad you are okay and your rehabilitation was a success. My 25-year-old son just had an accident. He was t-boned and he suffered a concussion. It’s a slow road back from a concussion. If he had been struck a second earlier, he probably wouldn’t be with us. One final comment, DOOM (2016) is a masterpiece. Enjoy!

Thank-you for posting about John Mann’s passing. For us Canadians, he was a brilliant talent who should be remembered. If you haven’t listened to any of his music, check out “Home for a Rest”, “Political”, “Venice is Sinking”, or “Thank-you”. Let’s keep his memory alive through his music.

It's obvious that most commenters have not tried R3E since multiplayer was released. I tried IRacing and was disappointed with the ice racing physics model and the lack of damage modeling. I like the league system you describe but I cannot afford a subscription and the cost of tracks/cars. I have heard that many IRacers have about $2000 invested in IRacing. That's too rich for my blood.
