I nabbed this for the PC. Was too good of a deal to pass on and really enjoying it. Now I got a bunch of games to play around with from this month basically with everything that was released.

So as someone who has never played a Forza game before, which series is the fun, arcadey one? Forza or Horizon?

Depends... when you race do you just like to race on a set track, or do you like to venture off and explore.

I've played them all, Horizon overall has a better feel for me, more exploring, adventure and if you just want to go off and race you can do that.

PC and Xbox run great. PC version has more visuals but runs nicely, quicker on the load times thanks to higher end system. Though the Xbox version does look great, looks like there might be some frame rate issues here and there but hasn't been distracting.

Advertising a new console launch with old games?

But look, it's got Zelda, too!

Yep, what's the issue? It hasn't been released yet and people want it.

Zelda looked like it ran at about 12fps undocked so clearly the dock has some sort of processor/GPU built in.

Interesting concept but I need more info to make up my mind.

The dock doesn't have to have a processor/GPU built in it. If.... big IF here but IF Nintendo was smart the whole console is the tablet itself. When its un-docked it goes into a slower speed state to conserve battery consumption.

From the looks of it, this will be a high end tablet with TV dock and controllers.

Interesting concept but not sure how well it will fly. As you mentioned need more information on this.

Verizon, AT&T Made $600 Million in Overage Fees Alone in 2016.

Let's fine them a 50 million, that will teach them!

And those that paid the fee's won't see a single dime.
Laywers will take $45 million and $5 million will go to the government since well they are owed the money somehow.

And don't be a dumbass like me and buy the physical X1 version from Amazon with their 20% physical ONLY discount, because once you receive it you'll find out it doesn't support Microsoft's "Play Anywhere" feature.

Digital only kids!

Let's see, physical=disc mfg, packaging, promotional materials, stickers, delivery. Digital=a code. Yet digital is $59.99 & Physical is $47.99. Makes complete sense to me, really!

I was fully intending to play it on the PC@4k and let the kids play it on the X1, but nope.

Keep on being you, Microsoft.

Yeah really looked at the fine print Forza Horizons because I wanted to make sure I got the PC version as well.

Was a huge download so it took a while, plus the update then yesterday (380meg patch). One issue that they don't say is that if they patch the game, be prepared to have space on your drive since it makes a whole new copy of the game being patched in a different directory.
OMG, so that's why it took like 30 damn minutes to install that tiny patch. What kind of Mickey Mouse pre-school toddler coders do they have working over there?

As if MS and their shitty store could have gotten any worse. The store and store apps won't even run if you've disabled either the Windows Firewall or Windows Update services (I have my own firewall, and I hate Windows deciding when it should update and reboot, so I do it manually). There's absolutely no reason why either of those should be mandatory.

Yup... that is exactly why it took so long. I just upgraded my CPU from a i5 2500k (4.5Ghz) to i7 6700k (4.5Ghz) and having good SSD drives on the PC and going, why the heck is it taking so long. Checking my drive space its shrinking... I'm going damn, glad I have plenty of space on the drive to basically make a copy of itself for the upgrade.

If you go into the directory where its stored the directories have the revision number built into it so if there is ever a patch, they make a new directory and update it that way.

Only thing I can think of why they do it that was is if there is a failure in the patch it automatically deletes the new updated directory and the old version is still in play.

So yes that is why windows store updates can be dirt slow is because its patching and duplicating the contents of the directory at the same time.

Only issue I had was getting it to install to my second drive. Finally found the fix for it and started to download no issues. Was a huge download so it took a while, plus the update then yesterday (380meg patch). One issue that they don't say is that if they patch the game, be prepared to have space on your drive since it makes a whole new copy of the game being patched in a different directory.

Anyways only had time for benchmarks on the PC but it looked eeh from the benchmark with most things on Ultra setting. We'll see how well it plays out in the long haul. Curious how much better this is looking vs Xbox version that is 20GB smaller. I know at least how Forza Horizon's looks on the PC vs the console version and its can be a nice improvement.

I do like the fact that both PC and Console players can play together. Like the fact that the game progress transfers between the PC and Xbox so I can utilize both if I wanted depending on how I'd like to play. Hopefully its more optimized and less buggy than previous releases.

Your neck will quickly tire of head tracking, I'll predict...which will destroy the immersion--such as it will be. It will be interesting to discover what the actual time of use will be before the urge to rip off the diving mask becomes overwhelming...;) thirty minutes? An hour?

When I had the Oculus DK2, it didn't seem bad weight wise wearing it. Most I did at one time was 90minutes. They recommend a break after 45-60minutes. Doing so it takes time when taking it off and putting it on to re-adjust to the setting. Taking the unit off and just getting use to real world is probably the most drastic change, sometimes it felt almost drunk like walking around without the buzz.

The thing that wanted to take it off more so was the heat. Gets hot with your face pressed against it for a while since there is limited to no air flow.

Curious about all these VR options coming out from different companies.

HTC one does sound like a better alternative than the Oculus Rift. Hopefully once the dust settles a little I'll be looking at investing into one of these solutions myself. I had the Oculus DK2 for a few months, and it was very neat to use.

Course there had to be improvements on it to make it long term better. Higher screen res was the biggest problem that looks to be overcome.

Excited to see how this tech will advance things.

Overall its neat but still beta so there is some, work to be done for tweaking it. I do have to admit its come a long way since the beginning. Have yet to try the latest update but looking forward to more features/bug fixes/improvements to be activated/tuned.

As for the DX11/DX12 thing.
Yes between AMD and Nvidia there is a difference, DX11 obviously but AMD hasn't been as strong as Nvidia has been there. DX12 it does benefit AMD alot, which great. I know Nvidia did a lot to tweak their DX11 cards/drivers to work well. Wonder if they could tweak the drivers any to get that extra performance out of DX12 that AMD is getting.

I have an AMD card so I'm happy about the performance increase which in my case is 50-90% (depending on the scene).

Also, as fun as schadenfreude is, it's no fun when you're the collateral damage.

I've got NO problem with the people who can afford it and want this add their main game and main hobby. Investing a few grand in your main hobby is honestly no big deal.

I have a buddy who brings in nearly $100K. I go to his house on weekends to watch football on his 100 inch DLP screen while reclining in one of the rows of plush leather recliners.

Him investing/donating a few grand so he can have nicer toys is no big deal. He'll be building a dedicated three-monitor setup as his cockpit. Etcetera, etcetera.

HIM buying this stuff us no big deal (as long as he keeps providing pizza and Sunday NFL Ticket, obviously). Anyone else falls under the "a fool and his money" umbrella.

I make a little over $100K and I don't have any of that stuff. Damn. How come your buddy is living so large? Wait. Does he have a wife who spends all his money on stupid shit?

No wife, no kids, just a boy and toys I bet.
Also where does this person live? If you live a big city, 100k a year won't get you very far without living paycheck to paycheck.

Apple comes with lots of stock software, its around 16 apps if not mistaken that comes with the OS. Now if you get it from a vendor like Verizon, Sprint, AT&T etc... if they load extra stuff on top, it can be removed easily on iPhones, but I don't think they are allowed to add anything to the phones.

Android is a different story and that is riddled with extra crap all the time, and I hope they switch to a more Apple model so the updates can roll out easier to everyone.

Though some apps yes I could do away with, with the option to re-install which I'm fine with. Though if I uninstall it, it won't free up extra space since all these apps by default are in the iOS OS partition... non-accessible. It will be nice to clean up a folder some but some of the apps is tied into so many other things I don't know if you could remove much without messing with Siri functions.

I'm all for it... please give us some options, or at very least if I can't uninstall it let us have the ability to remove the icon's from the screens.

With so many delays, and delays of delays I think I might seek this option if its possible. I've enjoyed it but at this point I might as well wait til the final game gets released since I think it will still be some time before that happens sadly.
