I think all games should be released on Friday. Perfect timing with the weekend.

Actually there are more and more games that seem to opt for the Friday release date. Truly I like Tuesdays since if I go to the store and get a movie and can get the game at the same time when its released.

Game side, wow kept thinking this was being released next year.

I'm a fan of the X series and have played them for many years but Rebirth was godawful dogshit. It suffered terribly from consolitis (as that as what it was designed for) by a company that had zero console experience. The newest one, however, is shaping up pretty tastily.

Yeah I've played lot of the older ones as well and at first Rebirth seemed good then further you got into it went south really quick. Been a while since I touched it but I know they've really revamped the system a bit, but hard to get the taste of of your mouth from the first experience. As well its re-using the old engine from years ago.

I'm curious about the VR one but not willing to drop any big money on it myself. From the VR Aspect and the New Engine that they've started to use. X4 really looking forward to getting back to the old way more so, but still incorporating some of the stuff from Rebirth. As well the New Engine that is even tweaked/modified even more.

I wonder if Bioware goes under if Anthem flops?

After Andromeda I'm almost willing to say yes.

They basically doomed Andromeda to mediocrity (at best) when they poached all their best guys for Anthem... so if they fail to get big success out of this one it's really hard to see how EA can justify keeping them open.

And despite all that, I still enjoyed Andromeda. I'm still bummed that it went the way that it did.

Your not the only one that enjoyed it. Yes it could of been better, a lot better especially on the QC side prior to release. But they probably got their backs pressed against the wall for the release date since it was the end of the fiscal year as well.

I'm more interested in the Occulus Go which loses all the room tracking crap. I only wanna fly spaceships in VR so half price to lose the extraneous crap sounds good to me.

Isn't the Go more on par with mobile VR? Giving up the PC at the same time you need more power for doubled visuals at extremely close range seems limiting.

Oculus Go is GearVR without the phone. If its able to connect to a PC via HDMI cable and utilize those options... well fantastic but otherwise from everything that has come out about it, its just a GearVR headset that you can get if you basically don't own a Samsung phone.

95 gb download?

for a racing game...

okay

Racing games are starting to not reuse textures for the tracks, so the road looks more realistic. Add in the truly ridiculous number of cars, and it’s not terribly surprising. Everyone wants bigger, better looking games and now you’re complaining that someone made one?
50gb is gonna be the norm pretty soon, with the occasional 100+ game. As someone else said, GoW4 is even larger. How big is the next GTA gonna be?

I'm surprised its not happening more often. Guess whats even more surprising is really these sizes are only on Xbox One games, I know the bigger ones at least its because it shares assets with the PC version but still. PS4 games seem are smaller in size overall.

Is that the PC or Xbox version? If Xbox version just wait for Xbox One X. Got GoW4 on the PC and its already 120Gig+, and I know its large on the Xbox One already.

I've been enjoying the VR portion of the game.
Really curious how it will play out just on the panel. I did try the update in VR, but might see what its like to play on the big screen just out of curiosity.

Starts in windowed 720p then jumps to 4k when fullscreened, all on a 2560x1600 monitor. Runs like garbage, with massive interface pauses and hitching throughout, on a factory-OC 1080 and NVMe SSD, yet Forza 6 ran nearly flawlessly. Pretty when it's not awful, but 22GB, really?

If you've turned off Framerate Smoothing in the settings, that could be the cause of the hitching. In FH3, it's a stutterfest if you don't have that turned on. I'm not a fan of the Forza Motorsport series, but OH BOY do I love Forza Horizon.

I'm assuming you have at least a 4-core processor, as you didn't list it. If you're on a dual core, it's gonna struggle. FH3 puts a processor thru the wringer, but it IS open world, so it may have higher demands.

They actually patched out the framerate hitches in FH3 for the PC, as there were a few spots (especially in the forest where the game first starts).

Driving wise in FH series has always been more arcadish, but I do have Forza 5 and 6.... 6 did something with the braking system that I hate, so hopefully they fixed that in 7, but otherwise like the rest in the series the has been very realistic in terms of high quality vehicle performance (which exception of Forza 3 which made AWD vehicles superior to anything else but was fixed in 4).

Hmmm I didn't notice many issues with FH3 on the PC. I didn't have a top of the line GPU (few years old) but I did make due with it played it last on the PC.

Never looked into it but nice to see someone else agreeing the breaking seemed a little off in 6. I've had the games since F1 was released... I've enjoyed everyone one of them and the constant improving and updates. I like the FH series a little more but looking forward to F7. Going to have to try the demo.

Its been on the PC for a few years. There was a special version that came out right around the time Forza 6 came out, free if not mistaken. Then there was the full blown Forza 6, then Horizon 3 earlier this year. They have been releasing them and really do like it.

This is the one thing I don't like about VR, the magic floating hands/weapons. At least put them on arms.

Lone Echo had actual arms that was fantastic. Fully agree with you, at this point how hard is it really to add arms in? Or even a body.

Like the games before it sounds interesting. Really looks like they are going back to more of the older X3 model in terms of ships and style which is good.

Happy to see they are finally upgrading the engine from DX9 to something a little more current. Surprised with the jump right to Vulkan but I can see where they are going with that being supported on more OS's.

Hopefully get in the closed beta again, if not probably wait post release to see how it acts first this time, as I jumped the gun on Rebirth, thankfully it is better now but not the same feel like the older games.

A new attack on the enthusiast gaming crypto-currency mining segment expected next month.

You will never be able to buy one of these at MSRP. Fuck crypto miners.

Only way is to get one from the get go before there is any true results out there. Even then if the crypto miners do nab them all up you probably gained $100-200 to put toward your new nVidia card now.

So far the Crossover games between the Xbox and PC have been pretty successful. I know there was an issue with GOW4 when it came out where some had to re-load windows to actually get the game to work properly (extremely low frame rates). I know I was one of them that had the with the a major update.

Got to say its even a nicer deal now that it doesn't look like you'll have to pay for the ultimate edition of the game to get it on both systems. Win win.
