Exactly. With microsoft now beginning their usual business strategy of forgetting a failed product ever even existed in the first place as they ramp up press releases with Win 9's approach, it's the whole Vista debacle repeating itself all over again. It's clear microsoft intends to bury Win 8 with the release of Win 9, so seeing sales of Win 8 increase is trouble for the gaming industry.

It's hard to say with much confidence since little information about Win 9 still exists, but I beleive anyone purchasing Win 8 now is only shooting themselves in the foot. Of course this problem is only increased due to microsoft removing sales of Win 7 at retail level.

Oh for godssake. Between this and the "Waaah, Windows 8 threatens my genitals!" post.

So from a post that literally only says "The increasing Win 8 percentages are quite worrying..." you construed that?

Do you watch people at the Olympics and go "so what, that guy ran a mile in 4.5 minutes. I can drive it in 40 seconds." Do you watch MMA fighting and say "I could take any one of these guys if I had a gun."

Looks like the point has sailed way above your head.

And between this and the above quote it seems like you make a habit of personally attacking people in comments? Does it upset your humours so much that there is a person somewhere through the foggy mists of the interwebz that has a differing opinion from yourself? Would you like my email address to send your baseless rants to? Calm down, jeez.

Any other equipment the rest of the players aren't using that you'd like?

Not much point crowing about your skills if you're not willing to play by the rules. If/when Destiny comes to the PC, you can have a mouse and keyboard. Until then, Bungie's game, Sony's platform, their rules, full stop.

Doesn't make it any less cute that these people consider this level of play to be at all "skillful".

It's like saying "This guy is a beast! He's #1 at fingerpainting! But UH UH! Doesn't matter if you're a real genius artist, you can't criticize his skills unless you're better than him at fingerpaiting!"

I dunno about anyone else, but this Cryptolocker scares the livin' shit outta me! Since you don't know anything is happening until after it's done encrypting all of your shit, there's no easy way to tell if things are going wrong. Is there any malware/AV apps that actually proactively block this thing? I mean, there doesn't seem to be any defense against it if you do encounter it. *knocks on wood* I've been relatively lucky lately in that I haven't hit anything nasty but with all the shit I typically download, it's always in the back of my mind. I have 5terabytes worth of stuff, so it can't be easily backed up to optical or tape media. The only real way is to keep it on a hard drive. I guess maybe I should look into setting up a fail safe drive that isn't connected to the Net or the home network or any other systems and keep things there...What a pain in the ass! Just because some losers like to fuckin' show off their l33t skillz but screwing over everyone else!

=-Rigs-=

If you have data on your harddrive that you can't live without if it was gone tomorrow, then you must back it up. It doesn't matter if it's 5TB or 500TB, there exist a myriad of backup solutions for almost any kind of situation.

I wonder if that number is due to new system purchases, or if people are actually switching to Win 8 of their own free will. I guess the casual gamer crowd makes up a pretty big chunk of the Steam userbase now though.

Hm, yeah, could be. They removed retail sales of Win7 afterall and all new pre-built computers are bundled with Win8 only.

There's a bit of a contradiction between the big text they paste on the screen and what they are showing of the game.
For example, why the tight tiny restricted scope on one of the guns they showed that restrict your view to just ~30% of your screen?
Another example is why those +300 or whatever score text that appears in the middle of the screen when you kill someone?
If you were to remove all that bullshit text they put on top of the gameplay video, this would look like a CoD clone, not a 1999 style arena shooter game.

And now the revelation that there are no dedicated servers kinda seals the deal. This isn't at all what they are advertising the game to be, either because they honestly don't know themselves what a 1999 style arena shooter game is supposed to be like, or because they are just trying to grab what they think will be easy bucks while skinning a generic cod shooter clone.

Spotting Mechanics.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU~~~ WHYYYYYYYYY

Even the look on the guy's face when he starts talking about it shows that even he is not happy with it. Why do they have to include such bullshit into a game that could be tons better without it?

Wow, they are still trying this tactic. Throw out free games to lure people into installing Origin. I wonder if the frequency of them using this tactic means it's not working or actually is...

So, they actually hack into her ex husband's Facebook account, and his old myspace account

WTF? How is that even legal?

She asked the detective again what's the hold up, they said its Facebook. Even though the police department has spoke to them directly, they still haven't taken action against him.

What did they expect? Has the guy been tried? Has he been found guilty by a court and given a restraining order? And why exactly is Facebook obliged to block this guy? It's the local authoritie's responsibility to enforce any restraining orders. If a judge rules that Facebook must block him, fine, but before then why are you expecting Facebook to just jump and dance to the pipe?

We have the same problem with our cats. They are more pigs than cats, the pieces of their dry food get flung around all over the place where they eat. I always pick that up right away after they are done eating, but when I'm not home and my gf feeds them she doesn't. And then she asks me where did all the ants come from.

Haha, what? Have you been living under a rock? Right now the police do not consider that they require a warrant to seize and search your cellphone whenever the heck they want. That's why there's a big debate about it right now in the legal courts.

But anyway not like that matters. They can just ask the NSA for a copy.
