Thanks, MacSoft! The demo runs really, really well, even on older hardware. I'm very excited about buying this game.

Carma 1 and 2 are possibly my favorite games of all time. Those were infinitely replayable games. I agree, they screwed it up. I thought 2 ruled, but they blew it on TDR2000. They need to keep it simple, driving with keyboards was awesome! I want to do it again!

I'm sure Blue will report this, but Mac users can get the UT2004 demo here:

RTFA. It's the strongest OS X upgrade yet, but it also contains a couple of bugfixes for outstanding problems. It's not just a patch. The concensus is that Apple is going to release it for previous versions of OS X. Panther hasn't even been out a week yet. If these patches weren't included, the headline of that article certainly would have been "Apple releases upgrade with flaws!"

An idiot is an idiot, no matter what platform they use. I just meant the all-caps looked really stupid.

Why do you call Macs "MACS?"

I downloaded Steam w/ the CS cache, installed it, let it update, and started playing. I don't understand the big deal everyone has with Steam, it's better than the silly browsers that come with the mods anyways.

Good for you, I did the same thing and it crashes constantly mid-game. Just because you're not having problems doesn't mean that nobody is. The majority of people who are posting here are having trouble, and that doesn't make them idiots, man.

I don't mind the idea of Steam, but I can't play Half-Life for more than 20 minutes at a time without it crashing and displaying some Steam connection error. That's single-player. That's unacceptable.

This whole article makes me respect John Carmack even more. He's a straight shooter, never afraid to comment directly on the particulars of any technology or (almost more importantly) manufacturer. I've never once felt that he was in anyone's pocket, even in his endorsements. This article made me feel like taking a shower and then playing some Q3.

I agree: Blue's had the "any browser" logo forever and this is the first problem I've noticed. IE 5 on Mac OS X splits the logo between the u and the e. Thanks for keeping the code clean. As a side note, I use bluesnews to test network connections, because it always loads so quickly!

My god, this is fast as hell on 10.1. We played a little of the previous build last night, and it loaded the server so fast, I thought it didn't work. Those component icons flew across the screen! I've never seen any platform load Q3A so quickly. Thanks, Graeme Devine!

Yeah, where's the Mac version? Didn't Graeme Devine say it was ready yesterday? I can't wait! Thanks to Mr. Devine for so quickly getting it Mac OS X ready!

I don't think any serious Mac gamers use the one-button mouse for gaming. I sure don't!
