Yeah, I'm pretty sure most of those features that set it apart from other shooters are gone now. They are probably just trying to make it a more traditional shooter so the can sell the boxes and make some of the investment back. Who the hell is funding this project at this point??

It was NEVER going to be an RPG. It was going to be a shooter with RPG elements and an open, living environment. I've been following this game since they first announced it. It's always been a shooter.

What morons like that guy don't understand is that interactive games are replacing TV for a growing number of people. He will sit here and rip on people playing games, then go home and watch 6 hours of mind-numbing boob tube each night.

I wouldn't mind ponying up 100 bones if I saw some of the game and it looked like a worthy project. If the game is crap, forget it.

BTW, is anyone actually playing Q4? Do people play Q2 there? I would love to play some oldschool Q2 CTF with a bunch of people.

I've been wanting to do this for years, but never found the time. I think I will pack up the machine and fly out there this year. ET:QW ftw.

You guys are stupid twats if you think there are only 4000 Firefly fans. The only reason Serenity was even made was the outcry of the fans when the show was canceled due to corporate politics.

Bwwaahahahah.. I went and installed their demo engine. What a piece of SHIT! You know, I'm down for anyone trying to make a Sci-Fi MMO, because I'm sick and fucking tired of Fantasy MMOs. But for these asshats to think anyone would seriously play an MMO on their '1992 quality', DirectX 0.93 game engine, is a more than a joke.

Piss off losers. Let someone with a real game engine take a shot at this intellectual property.

Good Christ. How many years have we been reading preview articles about this game now? I remember watching video clips of "gameplay" 2 years ago.

You have to be a seriously fat fuck to buy a video game for playing darts, when you could buy your own dart game set for the same price or less.

More ludicrous video games please!

The game is "ok". I'm having a decent amount of fun with it, but I've always felt the BF games were "clunky" feeling, especially for infantry. This game has a lot of weirdness in it that can only be defined as "half assed" coding. Still, I'm shooting people and having a some fun. It will work for now.

I'm not a fan of all this unlock shit. It seems that all the gaming companies have forgotten than *MOST* gamers are casual, and have lives other than gaming. I have pretty much walked away from WoW for this reason. As a casual player who only games 10-15 hours a week, WoW starts to suck ass BAD when you get up around level 50. It takes so long to grind a level that it seems hopeless, and forget about End Game content unless you play 40+ hours a week.

As far as 2142 unlocks, I'm just grinding the main professions I want to play, and leaving it at that. Dice needs to realize that many of the unlocks in this game will simply never be had by most people, because the game isn't good enough to warrant that much play time. It's unfortunate that players who would not normally play a support loadout, but may when it is needed in game, will be gimped and frustrated because they didn't unlock the decent items in the support classes.

I'll play this for a while, waiting for ETQW which will be an entirely refined gameplay experience, I'm sure. I believe 2142 will be a dead stick when QW
hits the shelves. EA should count their blessings that it was delayed.

It's too bad they ran the franchise into the ground with shitty games for so many years. Galaxies is a joke, and SOE should be put out of business for destroying it.

I've been posting on Bluesnews for friggin years and and years. One thing I have learned about you people is that nearly 3/4 of you who bitch about a game and say you will "pass" will go pick it up anyway when it comes out. You see popping your mouth off as some sort of bold move, then you quietly buy the game anyway and pretend you didn't say anything about it later when you post about playing the game.

I'm buying it. I expect problems and I understand gameplay isn't going to be all that different, but who gives a shit? Yes, I prefer to play Quake Wars, but it's going to be a while. I guess I'm just not as attatched to $50 as some of you are.

I enjoyed BF2 for several months until I got sick of it. Actually that wouldn't have happened if they released the boosters as an addon to the base game instead of stand-alones. I'm sure I will have fun in 2142 until something better comes along.

I'm going to pick it up too. Why the hell not. I played BF2 for several months until I got bored with it. I'm sure I will enjoy this one too. I prefer to play Quake Wars, but I'll just pick it up when it comes out.

I think the game concept kicked ass. The execution was pure shit. I walked away from it in closed beta after going to the private irc channel and telling the devs there was no way this thing was ready to release, gameplay sucked, and that it needed at least another year of development.

One of the devs launched into defensive mode and basically told me I didn't know shit. Yeeeeeahh...

Guild wars really is cool. It's too bad I got sucked into WoW, or I'd be playing it. My only complaint about GW was how hard it was to make good relationships with other players.

If you want a FREE to play RPG (with online elements), then spend the cash for GW.
