lol, shitiest article ever. Didn't say what lead to the AI discovery in the poster.

What happens when AI gets good enough to no longer show the tell tale signs? You'll have no idea.

I think it depends what you play. I don't really play AAA FPS games anymore.. which tend to be the most common that don't work, due to anti cheat.

At least anti cheat software is compatible now, so going forward with the Steamdeck, you would expect it would become less of a hurdle.

So can you not buy games that aren't cut down to PG equivalent levels in Australia? Should have some way to get adult themed entertainment and games without a censorship board wagging a finger at you. If I lived there and some committee told me that I could only buy games cut down for "children of all ages" I'd tell them to suck the tutti fruiti off my little richard.

We have an 18+ rating (which for us is "R") though we still get shafted. Any kind of bonuses related to drug use are basically a guaranteed ban.

If gaming is your hobby then Linux will never be an option for gaming anyway.

Never say never. There was a time (not all that long ago) I would have certainly agreed with you. But with the backing of Valve (and others) its come a hell of a long way in a year or two. Sure, some things don't work yet, and anti cheat stops people from being able to play some of the AAA games (if that's what you're into), but these are hurdles which will eventually be overcome.

I do agree some are better off on Windows though, especially if they have zero interest in learning anything new, or if they have Windows software they are required to use (MS Office, Adobe products, AutoCAD etc).

Literally no reason? There's lots of reasons, but each to their own. I game on Linux quite happily. Fair enough, some of the anti cheat stuff doesn't work yet, but I don't really play FPS games anyway.

But from this list? I know Outer Worlds and Plagues Tale work on Linux, Bards Tale has a native version. Not sure about State of Decay 2, who the first one works fine.

I didn't know anything about the story or anything of the lore

Me either. After finishing the game, I went back and read over the Fables comics. I really enjoyed them, and would recommend you check them out.

Make Half-Life 3 a SteamOS exclusive. Problem solved.

They won't. They've already said that. Exclusives are terrible for all gamers, and go against the Linux way of life.

I lean heavily towards the Red Hat/Fedora/RHEL-Fedora derivatives because Ubuntu sucks.

Different strokes for different folks. Ubuntu will be better once Unity is gone, IMHO. Personally, I've tried a bunch of distros, and I'm quite happy with Mint.

It feels a bit more streamlined than PoE. Almost dumbed down.

I don't mind it, but its no Baldurs.

I never thought I would say this because I have always been a pretty happy Windows camper all the way up to and including Windows 7 (yes, even ME wasn't actually *that* bad Wink ) but at this point in time with all the EXTREME shittiness surrounding Windows 10, it would definitely be a dream come true if just about every major game engine and thus the vast majority of future games would get a Vulkan render path in addition to DirectX. If/when that ever happens, well, sign me up with the penguins!

I agree with you on the Win 10 shittiness, and I am all for Vulkan over the OS lock in of DX12 ... but sadly its still no guarantee its going to show up in Linux.

It should, and it could, but here we are.

I can see W10 and Xbox kind of becoming one and the same. The whole "MS store" thing is why SteamOS even exists.

I'm glad Vulkan is cross platform, and not tied to W10 like Dx12. Everybody wins: Win 7/8/10, Mac, Linux/SteamOS... even Android.
