I hope they named it iPad Air to differentiate it from a future iPad Pro with a Wacom digitizer.
I never did believe in tablets taking over the workstation market, but after reading your post I will have to think it over.

It's not 8.1. It seems to be an update for 8.0 - I had this issue yesterday on 8.0 - I couldn't play until I've changed the USB polling rate to it's default value. Nevertheless, updating to 8.1 changes many other things. On my other PC it kicked Hamachi from the system - it somehow forgets to move some files in the system directories.

Ugh... I know MOBAs are the current big thing, but this is just embarassing. Surely we have hit a saturation point where there literally aren't enough MOBA players left for all these new games?

You could probably say the same about StarCraft in 98. I'm not a MOBA fan (though I'll give it a try just like I did with MOBA 2), but usually when Blizzard does a game it's at least a 9 out 10 game.

Are you on meth? Have you been sleeping under a rock? Or are you one of those curious creatures they usualy call fanbois....

Sure I am. Like the rest of the world.

Why are you burnt out on crowd funding? I'm pretty happy with the few Kickstarted products I supported and it looks like the crowdfunded projects give much more consideration to what their customers say.

I have no problem with closing the auction houses, I just hope they redesign the game in a way, that won't require me (and saying "you don't have to if you don't want" is not enough) to use 3rd party trading sites - the security and ease of use of the AHs was what I liked about them.

Won't "require" you to use 3rd-party sites? I'll never understand the P2W drive some people have for video games. What other games force you to use 3rd-party sites? I played both Diablo II single-player and multi-player online with friends extensively and the concept never even entered our collective conscience. I just don't get it. If the game is designed properly, the FUN of the game is finding cool shit. I've hacked my single-player games before, and it very quickly becomes boring. Is it a status thing? Pissing contest? I don't get it. Or maybe I misunderstand what you mean by trading site.

It doesn't have to be P2W (I never payed for in-game items), a simple swap would require now a service to find interested parties. Trading in D2 was a waste of time, I liked how fast, convenient and secure it was in D3.

Obviously finding "cool shit" is what's fun in Diablo, but not in the current version. In D2 I could find all good items required to play "players 8" in finite time. In D3 it's impossible. I hope with Loot 2.0 they will correct this, it's for sure better than buying items in the AH.

Weird how their changelist page shows "9th November 2008" but the front page somehow says "2.5.0 13 Sep 2013 21:52". It makes sense that the changelist page is correct, since the previous version is two years prior. 2013 is not.

Also, is anyone actually playing this ever, anywhere in the world? O.o
I was playing PrBoom 2 years ago, now I'm playing Doom through the BFG Edition. PrBoom gives a nice, classic experience, that's why id used it for their iOS ports.

There's no MP capable Haswell and Cray needs CPUs with QPI links or something similar.

2. Re: Intel 4960X vs Intel 4770K SLI Performance on Real World Labs. Sep 10, 2013, 09:31 GL1zdA

One of the worst tests I've read ever. They try to say, that more PCIe lanes and more memory bandwidth benefits gaming, but in reality, what really matters are the 2 additional cores.

Since both systems were running at the same speed and using identical storage drives the x79 platform appears to be the factor behind the improved gaming performance. Other factors could be at play here though, such as the additional memory bandwidth, but we can't help but feel that the extra PCIe lanes were part of the equation.

Sure, benchmarks are all about "feelings".

There were previous tests, which prove this and have a much better methodology. One example:
ASRock X79 Extreme11 Review: PCIe 3.0 x16/x16/x16/x16 and LSI 8-Way SAS/SATA.
The difference in gaming performance due different configurations of PCIe lanes between X79, Z77 and various PLX motherboards is negligible, even with 4 graphics cards.

I thought most people bought Ouya to tinker with it. Maybe in a year someone will come up with a cool thing you can do with it.

What would that be? It's a basically a cell phone with no radios that you can hook up to a TV. They didn't really do much else with it, doesn't even have standardized APIs for many common functions.
It's basically a computer...

That's why I bought it. And it's not bad, but it suffers from the same problem as other Android devices: Android is not GNU/Linux.

Perhaps you’d like to level up the race you don’t play the least often. Now’s the time!"

Or play something else! Seriously, I was watching Total Biscuit's Dragon Commander video last night, and when he compared it to SC2, I thought "oh yeah, I never did get around to playing that..."

I have access to the single player beta and it's a rather average game. I was constantly distracted by the tedious, non-RTS parts and the RTS part is repetitive. IMO they made some pretty ill-judged decisions when they designed the gameplay - to many options mean often that the choices you make have not much impact. Last but not least, while TB praised it's humor, it's way to dry and overacted for my taste.

With SC2 Blizzard didn't try to invent anything new, but it's one of the most polished games I've ever played and I enjoyed it thoroughly. A very strong 9 out of 10.

Pretty sure it was the chessy b grade cut scenes with somewhat decent gameplay that made it popular. MP was always just a bonus. Dunno maybe im alone on that but turning it into an always online MP only doesn't really seem like its getting back to C&C roots at all.
This is why I liked these games so much - FMVs. The campaigns were well paced and the story, while not very ambitious, was interesting. This is also why I have skipped Generals and C&C4: no FMVs - no true C&C.

Also, didn't Carmack or some other id guy say some time ago that they will not outsource any of their IPs and work on their titles in-house only from now on?

It was Hollenshead, and he didn't say it will be id exclusive, but it has to be published by Bethesda: id: No Tech 5 Licensing.
