This game has a harmful micro-transaction system. Cosmetics that should cost a few bucks end up costing $180. The stash tabs are $5-15 bucks apiece. Their announcements typically announce a new micro-transaction item. For example, this one on 6/18 includes this snippet:
"If you're looking for some extra character slots for your account for launch weekend, we're running a sale on these right now! Additionally, this is your last chance to get Thaumaturgy Mystery Boxes! It will leave the store when our next mystery box enters the store! Keep in mind that if you haven't taken advantage of it yet, it's still possible to get a free Thaumaturgy Mystery Box when you spend any amount of points in the store. NOTE: this is only possible once per account. Additional purchases do not grant additional mystery boxes. If you need some extra points, we recommend checking out the Harvest supporter packs."
I don't mind when a free game has a micro-transaction component. But I do mind when the publisher employs psychologically manipulative tactics to get people to keep buying stuff.

Now why am I not even surprised that Cutter is a Republican, haha. Too obvious, honestly.
He's Canadian with a floating ideology. He enjoys the daily outrage media cycle and getting worked up.

Anthem wasn't and isn't that bad. A solid 85% of the problems are EA released it. Division 2 had core game machanics broken on release and weeks after release, a 48 gigabyte day one patch and the raid is just now being released, nobody cried like they did over Anthem.

Shitty CGI garbage trailer, no gameplay, no announcement of this before release. Ten year old game that was left in a broken-as-fuck state after its first expansion (with the rubberbanding bullshit.)
Sounds like a winner!

But will this update actually fix the worst combat in the history of ARPGs? For a game with as many great features and game mechanics as PoE has I've never been able to get far due to how bad the combat is.
Diablo 3 for as awful as their overall mechanics are has great feel to the combat and moving through the world.
Torchlight 2 was honestly my favorite of recent ARPGs, but friends and I had notorious problems zoning through portals in mp so we eventually gave up on that.
I have been playing Grim Dawn since it hit "content complete" and I have to say overall ideas wise this is by far the best. It has a lot of the same things going for it that Titan Quest had (obviously) but they've taken certain world interactions to a new level. There are a lot of random NPC encounters which you have control over the futures of. Several instances of things along the lines of "clear those fields so we can farm" and said fields stay clear and the farming starts. Combat wise it's just a deeper Titan Quest system and doesn't seem to have overpowered random affixes.
Back on topic to PoE though... it really does make me sad that the combat is so complete shit that for me it makes the game unplayable. I'd rather go play Diablo 2 because it still feels better, and for some reason this is something they never seem to improve. Perhaps that's because a lot of fans just accept it, but each of these expansions seem to have just put in more content without even a nod to how trash the combat is.

How about you people stop bitching and get larger hard drives? Hard drive space is super cheap nowadays.

A better way to show appreciation for your players is to hold the game back until it's actually fucking finished.
