it doesn't roll uphill... ugh. It rolls up angled planks. the point of contact is always lesser resistance to the shape in the upward direction due to the shape of the cone.

150 hours, still having fun.

Took me since june to play 150 hours of a game I'm really into... Wish i had this time lol.

I played 3 hours of it without issue and left it.. Wanted to just see it on my 3090 and it was GLORIOUS. Looking forward to playing it heavily in 3-4 months.

Suck. I still prefer Firefox over Chrome, but it's not looking good. Even Edge is beating it at this point.

Really don't want to use chrome or Microsoft... going to be sad day.

All these folks with 30x0 cards.

Wish I knew the magic to get one. Did you folks spend a few days watching those twitch streams or just get lucky?

I used a few browser apps,

Refresh and Monitor for firefox, refresh bapcsales (or bapcsalescanada) on reddit sort by new and 3080 for the notification search and beep.
Sign in acconts with credit card on bestbuy, newegg, etc, etc

When one pops up, TRY.

I wanted to get 3080 but ended up with a 3090 after months.

Good lucky.

That seems to perform as good as a card that used to be 700$ on release. It's a pretty good value?!

Last time I looked for one around xwing squadron release time, that and anything similar was all sold out or super expensive.

I use the T16000m HOTAS combo which wasn't crazy expensive and is awesome.

Elite Dangerous in vr is supposed to be pretty impressive. One day when I get the equipment, I look forward to firing this up. Hope the game servers are still running by then... It is a shame there's no offline mode.

Elite is absolutely the best VR experience I've ever had! One thing that really blew my mind was there are a few of the most common HOTAS (hands on stick and throttle) controllers programmed into the game, and if you have one of those you look down at your virtual hands and they are sitting on the exact controllers that you are holding in the real world. If your thumb in the real world reaches up and presses the missile button, your virtual avatar does at the same time. Even though it doesn't use the motion controllers it adds SO much to the experience. I also get horribly motion sick in VR games where you are moving, so being seated in a flight cockpit doesn't have those issues.

Being in a heated dogfight while in VR is incredible. As the enemy ship zips past you, you naturally pivot your head and look over your shoulder, and there the ship is! The response rate of head movement in VR headsets is also incredible, there's just no delay when you move your head!

Now the bad - I tried it on a Rift Beta2 (I can't recall the exact name), and the text was so low resolution I could not read anything, no matter what color I modded the text to be. I then bought my own Rift CR1, the first one, and it was marginally better, but it was very impression-breaking to just barely be able to read the text. There's also the problem that there's not a ton to do in Elite. The mining and trading part of the game is very relaxing, but you really need something else to do, like watch Netflix, while doing it.

I'd say if you can borrow someone's Rift CR1 or newer AND a hotas controller like the X52; Elite will blow your mind with the possibilities of VR. Unfortunately, I haven't turned on my Rift in four years.

Everything he just said is 100% correct. Fucking get goose bumps when I fire it up in VR.

I had a blast with ME4, possibly more than I did with any of the first three. Yeah, I know that puts me in the minority, but I've completed it twice now, and look forward to a possible new game. I hope they make it fun, and I hope they don't screw up (or under work) the remasters. I've yet to see a truly updated remaster game that was more than new textures and compatibility updates. How about old stuff like Lucasarts Outlaws, or No One Lives Forever (the cool girl spy game that's in limbo now), or other old classics that could be put on new engines. Fallout 1 and 2 (or 3 and NV) in an updated engine. The Gothic series, Betrayal At Krondor, old Might and Magic rpgs, Wizardry games. Ultima and U Underworld? Dragon Wars (from Interplay). The Gold Box series. So many.

You know, I actually didn't mind ME4 either, I also loved ME1 and 2 and at first hated 3 because of it's awful ending but went back and played it when they changed it and loved it. Thought they were awesome endings.

As a canadian, someone fill in the questions for me:

What the fuck is going on with this count? why is every single news station different on numbers?
Is there really no body of official counters and it's all handled by states individually?
Also, I looked it up last night and Double voting can be a thing?
So what's stopping someone who used to live in Michigan and now in Pennsylvania from voting twice?
Could an election actually be rigged like this?

Like it seems conspiracy nutjob, and i hate the idea of conspiracy nutjob but even I think this seems completely off and I'm hoping it's because i don't have a grasp of the full systems in place.
If you voted by mail, do you need to supply something to identify if you voted twice? like your social security number?

On the topic of stupidity and elections:

Social media is to blame for the resurgence of stupidity en masse. People get into facebook cliques with people of the same intelligence level and concerns and they breed a cesspool of misinformation and mental conditioning and doubt about actual facts.

My prediction is the next decade will be an awakening to the harm of social media.

Isn't it funny how we have the worlds information in our pocket these days and every seems less intelligent for it...
