Google Translate will soon offer real-time transcription.

..because we've all seen how accurate the auto-subtitles on YouTube videos are?

DCH driver installs the control panel via desktop-bridge, making it a trusted microsoft app. It's even in the driver FAQ In fact you can download the control panel from the app store and it gets updates from there too.

Ah.. I don't use the DCH driver, just the standard one, which explains why mine isn't an app.

Yeah, I think I will happily just do a full driver re-install every time anyway, especially as the control panel is now a W10 app....

Um. The Control Panel isn't a W10 app. Not sure where you got that from? I even just checked with the latest driver installed, in case they'd changed it in this one. Nope, still a regular application.

I just started playing this a few days ago after someone gifted it me for my birthday, and I'm loving it too. Just.. well, it's not exactly an uplifting story so far (Chapter 8 of 15), so don't play it if you're depressed already..

I remember playing the original Halo when it was finally released on PC all those years back, and I could never understand what the fuss was about. The PC shooters of the time seemed so very much further advanced. As such it's kinda hard for me to get excited about these being on PC now.

Had a similar experience with Gears. Played Gears 5 recently as my first Gears game after hearing the hype for so many years and.. well, underwhelmed is about right. So many things could have been improved in it, but after putting a few hours in and reaching the second Act, I just gave up.. kinda walked away shaking my head at it.

I had my fun with Overwatch last year with some friends. was fun while it lasted, but the repetitiveness got me in in the end.

There is only so many times you can die/respawn/die/respawn/die/respawn/die/respawn/die/respawn/
die/respawn/die/respawn/die/respawn/die/respawn/die/respawn/
die/respawn/die/respawn/die/respawn/die/respawn/die/respawn/

die/respawn/die/respawn/die/respawn/die/respawn/die/respawn/

...before it gets old

Isn't that literally *every* MP shooter though?

Exactly what I thought as I read that.. and also why I don't play MP shooters

Wait, what? That was MachineGames..

They worked together with Arkane for the latest one, Youngblood. Might also explain why it is rather crappy compared to the other entries in the series.

Oh. Huh. I had no idea.

On desktop Chrome I'm seeing a huge gap in the left-hand column:

https://imgur.com/a/ffrg770

This is in a maximised window, 1920x1200 res, no ad-blockers or any other extensions running. If I resize the window down I can make it look normal, but if I stretch it across both monitors the big blue area just gets bigger and bigger

If I own the standard edition, is there a way to upgrade to this? I'd probably give the game an entire new play through with any new content since launch. Just had no desire to reinstall after beating it to play some new tombs here and there... I had a good time though.

From what I can see on the Steam page, the "Definitive" Edition has entirely replaced the original version now as a "Bundle" - and normally Steam discounts those bundles based on your library. So I guess just visit the page and see what price it offers you? I don't own any of it, and it's saying it's £44.78.

Edit: For ref, it's a few quid cheaper for the "Croft Edition" (essentially the same thing) at CDKeys:

The Google story made me boggle a bit. He seems caught by surprise and the story makes a big thing about how he thinks you should inform guests about your smart speakers - but I picked up a Google Mini a few weeks ago (when Google was giving them away free to Google One users), and the paper inside the box specifically says that you should warn guests that you have it on..

The current patch has a huge Gnomish mechanical island with a bunch of content in it, so it's on point timing wise - these are Gnomes that are actually part machine themselves, as opposed to just being au fait with mechanical devices. But yeah, I can see it looking a bit thin.

As for the Vulpera, people have been asking for them to be a race since the beta of the current expansion; they just took their sweet time with it.

The Sensei mice are garbage. I had one a few years back, and it barely lasted a year before the scroll wheel started scroll back up one notch as you scroll - very frustrating and rendered it useless for eg swapping weapons in an FPS. I returned two of them (which had to be at my cost for postage to the Netherlands from the UK), by which point I'd paid for the mouse twice after the third one played up the exact same way. Ditched it and switched to a Logitech mouse, and had no problems at all since.

I note the comments on that article echo my sentiments too!
