Steam Linkage - has plenty of screens and a movie.

Looks virtually identical to the original, but higher-res.

How can it be a summer sale when it's not even summer yet? Summer doesn't start for another week and a half.

Here's a linky to the MET Office article about it.

TLDR; The Meterological Summer started June 1st, the Astronomical Summer starts June 21st.

I was superconfused when I clicked that link, as it said I'd selected the second tier and could "Manage my pledge" (I don't have a KS account). Then I looked up the corner of the page and realised it thought I was nin, I assume because of the URL

Here's an "anonymised" link instead:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/375798653/superhot/posts/874734

Sidethought: I wonder if backers can use those URLs to show non-backers the backer-only posts? Or would they just automatically prompt for a username/password?

I hope there'll be a discounted version for people who own Metro 2033 and Last Light like there was with the DX:HR revamp.

THIS! I hope they do it the Deus Ex: Human Revolution way and offer a cheap update for owners of the two games.

Steam just put preorders up - if you own either of the previous games, you get 25% off, if you own both you get 50% off. That's.. not enough of a discount for me to buy the same game(s) (mostly) again.

Edit: That said, it does include the Season Pass for LL, so if you haven't bought any of the DLC it could be worth it.

So far the reviews have been unexpectedly and surprisingly high.
But I mean they did focus on single player so who knows. Maybe it actually is a decent game.

There isn't any Multiplayer. TB mentions it in his video, and the Steam Store page only lists Singleplayer.

If you have played 3 you didn't miss anything

This is one of the things that confused me mightily about the Tropico bundles that have been about in the past year, where you could get the first three Tropico games together and pay extra for the fourth. I never understood why you'd want all four versions. Surely you'd just research which was held as the best and buy that? Or am I missing something?

By the way I don't think you could use the keys on Origin from actual CD/DVDs anyways.
I've had BF2 on a disc and could not add the CD key to my Origin library. I got invalid CD key error.
Ended up buying the whole BF complete set from Origin when it was on sale for $5, in case my disc gets scratched or something.

Depends on the game. I know my disc copies of Dead Space and Burnout Paradise, for example, both registered on Origin, despite being older than Origin itself (although to be fair, BP did use the old EA CORE online system).

This is in reply to LgFriess, I did Quote him but it kept breaking the post for some reason:

As far as I can see, the only pre-60 features that require the RoS expansion (Crusader class aside) is Adventure Mode and the Mystic.

If you're just happy playing through the campaign to level up, and aren't too bothered about enchanting or transmog (and on a pre-60, there's good reason not to be since you'll replace gear a lot), then I don't think you need to buy it just yet.

I may be corrected by others though, of course!

I've just played through Dishonored for the second time, this time as a stabby Ghost, and enjoyed it as much as the first. I particularly like Samuel's reactions to you, especially at the start of the final mission..

I'm now working through the two story DLC, and they're as well put together as the main game. So yes, sign me up for a sequel.

As an aside, I had no idea until I looked at the credits that there's some pretty big names in the voice cast. Susan Sarandon, Michael Madsen, Brad Dourif, Carrie Fisher.. I did a double-take at that.

Anyone know if dlc for ME2 ever gets discounted? From what I've seen and read, it's only for sale from the Bioware/ea site, which I rarely if ever visit. Think the bigger story based content is about 800 points, with smaller about 500. Iirc, the majority of dlc is about $20 to $25, total at regular price.

Bioware\EA have an almost complete monopoly on this. AFAIK the only other place you can get the points (which are preset to the DLC, so I don't know if you just get the points or it forces you to buy that particular DLC, is Amazon.com. I have never seen Bioware reduce the price of the points, not even once, whereas on XBLA they've often had sales. PC players have been shafted in that regard, sadly.

FYI, GetGames tweeted that they're going to be putting up some "Steam-beating deals" on BL2 this weekend, so might be worth holding fire.

Edit: now live. Some of it is cheaper, some more expensive (going by GBP prices, that is).

During the course of the game, players can roam through a brothel environment in which several prostitutes are depicted topless. The central character has the ability to spy on couples engaging in sexual activity (topless characters); suggestive moaning and dialogue can also be heard. Some settings depict opium vats or characters under the influence of the drug. The words “f**k” and “sh*t” can be heard in the dialogue.

Sigh. Another sign that the nuThief will be terrible (well, that and the many discounts being bandied around on the preorder.. it's like Square Enix know they have a stinker on their hands). The three previous games did just fine without anything too salicious being in them (if memory serves), and it had a language all of it's own (you taffers!) that didn't need cursing in it. Not being a prude here as such, I just think another part of the original games' charm and universe has been stripped out.

Hey Blue, the expansion's level cap is 100, not 90 - that's the current cap in MoP.

On that note, it means that even those that buy boosts have to play ten levels, and hopefully being educated on their class before they run max-level dungeons/raids.

Edit:

Games tha make you grind/pay just so you can get to the "real" game should be banned by law and their makers should be condemned to the fiery pits of hell.

To be fair, there's a lot of people who enjoy the levelling process alone and get bored once they hit the max, too, so they roll new characters. Obviously the boost is for the players that are the direct opposite of them. Diff'rent strokes..

I love in that blogpost how they italicised "Offline," like it's some original concept they thought of. Also how they don't mention how the players badly wanted it (although that's certainly implied).

I suspect what happened was when they saw the expansion was selling nothing like they hoped, because lots of folk bought into the hype of the original and got burnt on the always-on requirement. So, EA figured they had to patch in Offline Mode to make the expansion palatable and shift some more units.

Total Annihilation has been available on GoG.com since 2010, unless you meant it's the first time it's been on sale (which I doubt, to be honest!).

A stripped down version of the Uplay client with no store? Incredible! This restricts users from making additional Uplay/Ubisoft game purchases through the Uplay client. In fact it seems, Uplay enabled games purchased on Steam will not show on the standalone Uplay client.

You can still use the UPlay account you use for FC3 in your own UPlay client download and on the UPlay website (I associated the game with a UPlay account I already had), and the Steam-purchased UPlay games DO show in the client. But if you try to launch them, it will open Steam too.

Farcry 3 is the same price on Amazon that activates on Uplay. I don't own any Uplay titles, so I'm completely unfamiliar with it. Does it have an offline mode like Steam? From what I understand so far, if you buy it on Steam, you have to launch it on Steam first, which then brings up Uplay, then the game. Or since it's registered to your Uplay account, can you skip Steam and just launch it from Uplay?

If you have to jump through two DRM hoops by buying it on Steam, it sounds better to just buy it from Amazon and register it on Uplay.

As someone that bought it, I can explain.

You download through Steam, and when you launch, it starts up a version of UPlay without the store part of the client (to comply with Steam's terms), and asks you to login with a UPlay ID and associate the game with the account. It has the normal UPlay system as part of the game - achievements, "Rewards" to spend achievement points on etc, all done in the UPlay client.

I already had UPlay installed (I had AC3 with my gfx card which came with a UPlay code), so I figured "Ok, no point in running from Steam then." Uh-uh. If you load the regular UPlay client without Steam, then try to play the game, a box appears informing you that it is now starting Steam so you can play the game.

It's ludicrous.

What's even more amusing is that once in the game, you can bring up both UPlay's and Steam's ingame overlay..

But yeah. The CD Key you get from Steam is definitely tied to Steam, no matter what client you use, but you will have both clients running when playing the game.
