Seriously, another dwarven race? How lazy can they get?

I thought that initially, but the Earthen were actually where the Dwarves came from when they had the Curse of Flesh.. so it does kinda track.

WoW's magic started dying with flying mounts and the dungeon finder. Traveling on foot was a thing for the history books and only at quest areas you'd find other players. Bye random encounters exploding into all-out guild wars half an hour later. Proper delayed gratification got replaced by instant, lesser gratification. Such a shame.
Didn't flying mounts exist from the very beginning?
Not quite. Flying mounts came in the first expansion, but for most expansions after they restricted it so that you can't fly straight away until you've fulfilled certain criteria (eg explore all the major parts of zones, get reputation with a faction to a certain level etc), so normally the first part of an xpack was still ground-based, much to the chagrin of a lot of players. Dragonflight is a bit different - you get the new Dragon Riding within an hour or two of play and can zip all over the place, but you can't ride your normal flying mounts, only ground ones.

Yeah, from my brief 5 minutes pootling around in it, it seems much better. Biggest improvement for me is that I can load my Steam library without having to wait a good five minutes, as it was on the old app.. now it's pretty much instant (although I wish you could change the view from boxart-only)

The Platinum edition is only £5 on cdkeys.com right now, so looks like the right time to jump in if you haven't already.

I can't recommend this series enough. It's such great asymmetrical co-op fun. The first game is free, albeit brief, if you want to try it out.

Also, you can get a better price on Forever with the We Were Here Series Bundle if you already own the other games. Or just buy them all if you haven't yet, because they're worth it.

Yeah, these are great. Played through them steadily with a friend, and looking forward to trying this one out when I have the cash.

I happened to play this from my Steam backlog a month or two ago and thought it was just a standard 'vania platform game. I was astonished when the pinball mechanics kicked in, and loved it!

At least there will be a season 3. At the end of season 2 there was some doubt whether Pedro Pascal would return as Din. Also, not surprised as The Book of Fett premieres in December.

Yeah, the ending of S2 felt very final to me - especially with the plug for The Book Of Fett too. I'm actually (mildly) surprised S3 is happening at all.

I'm pleased to hear this. I feared for the launch week since the questing is linear this time, with everyone going through the zones in order - I too well remember the launch of The Burning Crusade, where everyone fought over mobs in Hellfire Peninsula so quests would take several times longer than if you were solo. They did say they'd be sharding zones once player levels reached a certain amount - sounds like that's working.

Hopefully tonight I can make a start and enjoy it, in this case.

I don't think they've delayed an expansion this close to release before. I'm clean from WoW for a couple expansions now so Im a bit out of touch but a little more time can go a long way. Hope they aren't crunching their dudes.

The only other expansion that was delayed was the first one (Burning Crusade). It was announced at the end of October 2006 that it would now be released January 2007 - so that must have been pretty close to whatever the original release date was (which I can't find right now).

The general feeling from devs and related staff on Twitter seems to be relief that the info is out and that they have the time - and bear in mind they haven't even given a specific release date now other than "this year." I would throw my hat in the ring with "Early December," a few weeks ahead of Christmas to get all the initial server and game issues either sorted or put on hold until the new year.

If you're looking at playing the whole shebang, then the Season Pass is £6.80 on the UPlay store until Friday (£5.44 if you trade in 100 Club Units). And yes, you can buy the season pass without already owning the full game first. Not sure what the price is in other countries.

Huh. I wonder if they'll re-release the original games back on Steam at some point.. you can get them in this bundle, but still not if you want them piecemeal. Which is a shame, as I don't have any VR kit so the bulk of the cost of that bundle (the new VR game) doesn't apply to me :/
