It looked like it could've been alright. I can't say I'm surprised by this news, though.

Eh, I don't know, I think the term "old school" still stands in reference to games from the 80's.

What happened there? Someone died?

I'd had that game on my list forever, keep meaning to pull the trigger.

Sadly, thanks to Rhino for the follow-up. I've enjoyed my time with the game as well. I don't mean to crowd up the boards with recommendations or anything, but if you'd like to know a little more about who I'm talking about and the game itself, GB did a "quick look" of it here.

Kind of relieved. Why does it have to be set in one of the US cities? Couldnt they up the ante a little bit? Maybe let our hero travel to some more varied locations, you know like in Fallout2.

I think there are probably more important things than location. It could actually have decent writing, you know, like in Fallout 2.

Bethesda's "quality standards."

I guess The Evil Within was up to their standards? With a Metacritic of 67?

Well, at least there's hope Todd Howard is working diligently on ES6.

Hunted: The Demon's Forge can be added to that list.

This "designed for 30 FPS" business needs to stop. Try designing for 60 FPS.

To spend all those years making something and still not know what it is nor understand what you want it to be. It definitely doesn't paint Blizzard in a positive light.

Nor does it put them in a negative one.

This isn't the first time they have had a project simmering for awhile and then canned it. The exact thing happened with that Warcraft adventure game they were working on forever, and the Starcraft Ghost game. They've had several other unannounced titles in development and then canned them.

Companies with money can afford to do this.

So you're saying that their history of cancelling games isn't a reflection of the company itself? Having the money to afford making mistakes is fine, but that doesn't dismiss that the mistakes were made in the first place.

Also, this seems a little different. Maybe I'm wrong here, but I expected that "Titan" was a pretty big deal for them. Maybe it wasn't, though. Maybe they were all satisfied with building on WoW, and Titan was nothing more than a side project.

I don't know. All I know is that having a history of development blunders that lead to cancellations isn't a good thing. Especially from a company that I would argue suffers from a lack of creativity.

I'm still waiting for an MMO that isn't disappointing. This one took some steps in the right direction, but I fear it wasn't enough.

I thought it was obvious, but those were meant to be included in my complaint about "traditional" classes and how boring and stale they've become over the years. I only mentioned the paladin, because of the video.

Of course it's an opinion, and there are those who don't care one way or the other, or who thoroughly enjoy them. As I've said, though, I've seen the same things enough times for enough years that it all just feels somewhat uninspired.

Obsidian is doing an MMO?

So much for a follow-up to New Vegas.

Not much of a fan for how this was written. Who knows how much input Obsidian had in all of this. Allods Team seems to clearly be the ones spearheading the development of this, especially given their previous work history. Hell, the intro is a splash screen of Allods Team without mention of Obsidian at all. The fact that Allods Team isn't mentioned at all is rather perplexing to me.

Anyway, I hardly believe this would have an impact on whatever else they're working on at the moment. Which I believe they're still finishing up with Pillars of Eternity. Also we'd be seeing Fallout 4 before ever seeing a New New Vegas. Maybe you weren't being serious with your comment, though.

Anyone else getting slightly tired of the same boring classes over and over again? I've played and loved Paladins for literally decades, but it's grown tiresome. Maybe it's just me, though.

Never thought I'd hear someone say that Marvel Heroes is a good alternative to CoH. That's just insane, and wrong. Also calling it Marvel Heroes 2015 instead of Marvel Heroes is kind of... disgusting? Maybe that's a little strong, but it certainly makes me cringe.

That's what someone from the NeoGAF thread posted, and I saw it myself within minutes of the site having been hacked. I know we live in a world where it's hard to trust people, but I'm just throwing it out there that it's not some photoshop job. Also that picture is only the top half of the page. The bottom half was filled with private info and a ton of usernames/passwords. I didn't test any of them myself, but the whole thing is pretty disgusting.

What happened to him was really terrible, and no one deserves it. Regardless of your personal opinion of the guy.

This isn't cool, and the guys who attacked him are far worse than Phil himself.

For those who weren't paying attention, that's from the polytron website.
