@DG

Well, lets say I believe in the good (or: I start optimistic...). But, I never thought that such a big company like Blizzard cannot stand critics. And I would understand if they delete the usual "I hate this '*****ing game!". But in this case it was a post related to a feature of a game, i.e. a functionality discussion. Thats odd. We have to live now with the official design philosophy of the publisher and "How dare you to discuss this in public".

For me thats new.....

Maybe I am really too naive.

Thanks

Michael

They censored my post on Battle.net. I complained about the auction house (which ruins my game experience) and they just deleted my post. This never happened to me before. I am really not happy (and I did not use rude language or so....).

I think if companies start using there power to censor things we are getting into real big trouble.

I will stay away from Blizzard from now on...

Well,

compared to the FULL release of Swords of the Stars II, this Alpha is pretty stable and playable (its more like a Beta). So, while I get your point about the risk of releasing a game premature, this one seems to do good. I have still to explore options of the game and the long term fun factor. But thus fur it looks pretty solid.

Well, I agree. Actually i am running parallels desktop. Works great. Bought the x:albion Prelude as mac version, but it runs better under Parallels as windows version. So, I will play torchlight II anyway :-) having a native version would still be nice.

I agree: The headline was confusing and misleading. Still wondering where notch is going with this one. I hope he will go for a rendered space game versus a brick style (Minecraft like) game.

Cant wait to see this one. However: Will there be a Mac version ? I am still hoping. Playing Torchlight 1 on my iMac from time to time.

I am glad that people have obviously the same (bad) feeling that I had when I entered the Diablo III beta. When I posted earlier this week in a Diablo III news post that I liked Path of Exile much more, I was accused of being associated with the PoE developer (which I am not). I joined the Diablo III beta and played through the first (beta) act. Then I started looking around and found PoE. I bought me a 10$ beta ticket and guess what: All the things that I was missing from Diablo III where there:

- The graphics were IMHO much better (crisp versus blurry)
- The skill tree was amazing
- The rune system was cool

Now before people start shooting me again for bringing the PoE comparison: I cannot say anything about balance or endgame or longtime fun, because I am only lvl 10 Templar in PoE).

I just understand the frustration of people in this thread and can share it.

Thx for listening.

Michael

Good observation on the new account thing. While I follow this newspage since a couple of years I never joint a discussion. This said: maybe I should post more often :-)

Back to a more rational discussion:
Concerning the skill tree of PoE I was pretty amazed about the presentation and the way you explore the skill tree ( granted the surprise might just be the fact, that I did not play all the gazillion games that use something similar). For me the skill system looks new and cool. Is it working? I do not know becaue I only explored two classes and I am not sure about the high level builds and the balance thing (but hey, it is beta). Another aspect is that I like the grafical presentation and the "flow" of the game. IMHO Diablo III looked alittle bit old style while PoE looked more crisp like Titan Quest.

So, here is my second post :-)

Michael

P.S.: And I am not a native speaker, so I apologize if I got it wrong...

Why bother with Diablo III Beta. Played Diablo III Beta till the end of Act I. But, I found Path of Exile to be a much better experience. I tried Path of Exile for the first time, when they opened up the beta as a buy-in a couple of weeks ago.

(and: I am not associated with the developers).

Just my 2 cents....
