"5 percent the cost of current displays, it could see far cheaper smartphones"

I'll bet the farm Apple will gladly take that 95% savings for themselves.

Yeah, but when all the competition are selling phones that do the same thing for $5 how many people are really going to still be forking over $500 to Apple?

A: Whatever market is they have today. That many.

Yep. Never underestimate the cult that is Apple.

Yeah, that's almost as entertaining as people who STILL didn't understand the difference between stealing a physical object and illegally copying a digital one.
Quite frankly...I've been listening to the difference between physical and digital duplication for 30 years since I first copied Castle Wolfenstein on an Apple II with Locksmith.... There is no denying the scarcity/production differences, but that by no means makes it righteous. It is a silly entitlement crutch trotted out to smugly excuse not compensating someone for their work. Kind of like ad blockers and microtransaction loopholes. Almost everyone with a PC is guilty of pirated material...but most above the age of 25 don't try to make it out to be the admirable protest while sticking it to The Man.

Most of that money you pay goes to the publishers/suits with a small percentage going to the developers. The developers still end up with a shit load of money so just imagine how fat the publishers and execs are sitting.

You'd be better off pirating it and then sending a cheque / anonymous donation to the developers directly, if you really wanted to reward them for their work.

Looking at the screen shots and the leaked videos, like Fallout 3, this doesn't look like something you'd see 200 years after a nuclear apocalypse. It looks more like 20 years.

Wouldn't that make sense? The game starts with you playing your character before the war, so it couldn't really then shift 200 years and you're still the same guy/girl.

Maybe the Vault has cryo-chambers?

Yet they are going to buy anyway. This is the message you are sending to EA. You complain all you want but when it comes to see where the pavement meets the road, you buy anyway.

Yep. That's most of the people on here. No conviction. No principles.

Just bitching and whining... then buy the game anyway.

Who do you mean? I even pointed out that it went beyond just unfriending from Facebook and nobody else here was confused. You seem to be generalizing much the same way that headline is

Did any of you actually watch the clip? It's not just the dog that cant die. And being a Bethesda game I'm sure there will be a mod for those cry babies that actually want their companions to die.

Panic has risen across Australia- XCOM 2 Steam pre-order price set at £58…

$90 US? Really? W.T.F. Even if there's a bit of a VAT, there's no justification for a 50% higher price than the US.

Hopefully you Aussies can VPN and pick it up for a more reasonable price.

This isn't new. It happens with just about every game (as well as all range of consumer items - physical or otherwise). We call it the "Australia Tax". Companies hike the price just because they can. It's been happening since day dot and has only been getting worse.

Our grey import market and VPN use is absolutely massive because of it, and now the corporations and rights holders are making the government crack down on it and make things like regional-pricing/geo-blocking circumvention illegal and to whack massive import taxes and fees on anything over $0.01 instead of over $1000.

It's been proven that it's still sometimes cheaper to fly to the US, buy something and fly back than it is to buy it here in Australia. Any wonder people "pirate"?

Rather than Europe, Australia, the US, etc take all these refugees - how about the oil rich, neighboring countries (like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE) take them in? Have they even taken any?
