New Firmware Boosts RTX 3080 Ti Mining Speed By 21 Percent.

Could they design the firmware to do the opposite? Then maybe gamers could buy them again.

Not the firmware, but they've designed GPUs to be crippled with Geforce in basic computations since the division between consumer and professional products ( Quadro ) while running fine on their professional products.

They could do that here, cripple ALL hashing on Geforce by design to something like 1% to 10% perf ( can't be fixed with firmware/hacks/etc ), leave it 100% functional on Quadro.

Want to waste energy on a Ponzi scheme? Fork out for Quadro bitches.

Friendly reminder

I mean it's just responsible for anywhere from 20 to 40 million deaths per year depending on estimates.

A few Jewish Holocausts every year, no big deal, right?

100 years to kill 100 millions and vilified worldwide?

Capitalism be like: "Pathetic, I do it in 3 to 5 and people defend/worship me like I'm their charismatic cult leader."

Was pretty stunned myself when I watched the video too...

Altho I guess this is an ideal scenario for the nanite engine, lots of static or semi-static environment.

Still impressed tho and I'm not impressed easily nowadays.

Get as many Armor upgrades as quickly as possible to upgrade you're shields. Also the time reduction on the grappling hook helps a lot.

Helf, speaking of that, I have a question. I have three Mjolnir upgrades and it told me to "upgrade your armor on the campaign menu". Fucking where?! The "campaign menu" is "Continie", "Load Game", or "New Game".

Press tab to bring up the map, look at the tabs above the map. It's in there somewhere.

Quite telling that Intel had to go crazy on the power just to beat a 5900X at the same thread count.

Look at the applications aggregate results at 125W ( 20W more than 5900X ), it's slower...

We'll have to change the definition of "triumph" in the dictionary to reflect that I guess.

Because unfinished, unpolished buggy unoptimized mess doesn't fit the traditional definition last time I checked.

I listen to crashing/performance issues in games with a heavy amount of skepticism. I work at a computer store, and I get "my computer runs poorly, and I'm only running (insert low resource software name here)". Inevitably, we find that it works JUST FINE, and then they say "oh, I also have (insert system-destroying software here)".

It's a professional computer site having consistent crashing issues we're talking about, not the average clueless Joe from the neighborhood.

It was mentioned in my comment too...

From the reviews I read/watched, what I take away is:

-Lots of graphical bugs and issues, deep lack of polish especially highlighted by DigitalFoundry's review
-Slow performance on PC despite much beefier specs ( 6900XT/3090 SLOWER than XsX makes absolutely zero sense ), and crappy'ish graphics even compared to Halo 5. See computerbase.de testing.
-Strange crashing issues with "lower" end setups ( RX580/GTX1060 ), again computerbase

Some lauded the game for "this is what happens when you delay and let the developers do their job".

I disagree vehemently...

The game is half-baked. I'll try it in a year.

Just when you think tyranny/corporatism/capitalism can't be any worse...

As Theon said in GoT "It can always be worse".

Since I would never tolerate that egregious level of spying and dictatorship, I'd probably stay unemployed rather than be subjected to this nonsense.

I usually restart my computer at least once per 24 hours, simply shutting it off going to bed.

When I have tasks queued for the night or more than 24 hours then I'll wait til a problem pops up before restarting.

Usually takes a few days to a week before something strange is afoot, but it can sometimes happen in a few hours. YMMV

Altho when I do normal usage and shut it off everyday, the strange occurrences are kept to a strict very rare minimum, which I vastly prefer.

Time to buy?
Maybe?

Here is a classic from 6 years ago Don't buy bitcoin, It's Going To Crash!!!, and he recently made a follow up video on Twitter

Bitcoin is doomed before 2030 just from its unavoidable increasing power consumption. The power increase trend from the last 10 years projected in the future predicts Bitcoin would need ALL the power the WORLD produces by 2028.

The Bitcoin ponzi scheme is already dead, it just doesn't know it yet. And when Bitcoin fails, the crash that will sweep crypto will rock the world maybe enough to provoke the next big depression when the multiple trillions bubble will go *poof*.

Just make sure not to be among those left holding the bag when that happens...

The article accurately points out Brave also has built in financial elements. What they failed to say was the ones in Brave are easily turned off. If Edge's service is similarly endowed with an easy to find turn off option, I would not consider it an issue (assuming I had any desire to use Edge)...

And Edge has a lot of privacy issues. Brave has none.
