Misleading.

Check the source of the article... It's all in there.

Yep.. "Back channels," lol, i.e. filling out this form to get in touch with the NVIDIA sales dept. -- https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/contact/sales/

Also misleading.

Nvidia isn't allowed to sell Geforce GPUs in large batch quantities to private individuals ( or shell companies ). It goes against their agreements with AIBs and retailers.

They don't have that type of legal obligation about Quadro and CMP lines however.

Damn guys, why is no one doing their homework around here?

Not that I'm surprised one bit mind you.

Even admitted openly that he went through back channels to secure a lot of them directly from Nvidia.

Pretty sure that's not uncommon at all.

I do KNOW why nobody gets excited anymore about video cards. Nvidia needs to make new cards that CANNOT be used for crypto mining while still running games great. I'm sure it can be done, and as long as it can't be firmware hacked maybe we gamers can finally get a nice new vid card for our beloved PC for something of a reasonable price.

This^^

Nvidia has done this before with some basic computational tasks being 10 or 20 times slower on Geforce VS Quadro.

It's not like they can't with hashing. Want to mine? Fork out for Quadro m'fer.

New Firmware Boosts RTX 3080 Ti Mining Speed By 21 Percent.

Could they design the firmware to do the opposite? Then maybe gamers could buy them again.

Not the firmware, but they've designed GPUs to be crippled with Geforce in basic computations since the division between consumer and professional products ( Quadro ) while running fine on their professional products.

They could do that here, cripple ALL hashing on Geforce by design to something like 1% to 10% perf ( can't be fixed with firmware/hacks/etc ), leave it 100% functional on Quadro.

Want to waste energy on a Ponzi scheme? Fork out for Quadro bitches.

Friendly reminder

I mean it's just responsible for anywhere from 20 to 40 million deaths per year depending on estimates.

A few Jewish Holocausts every year, no big deal, right?

100 years to kill 100 millions and vilified worldwide?

Capitalism be like: "Pathetic, I do it in 3 to 5 and people defend/worship me like I'm their charismatic cult leader."

Was pretty stunned myself when I watched the video too...

Altho I guess this is an ideal scenario for the nanite engine, lots of static or semi-static environment.

Still impressed tho and I'm not impressed easily nowadays.

Helf, speaking of that, I have a question. I have three Mjolnir upgrades and it told me to "upgrade your armor on the campaign menu". Fucking where?! The "campaign menu" is "Continie", "Load Game", or "New Game".

Press tab to bring up the map, look at the tabs above the map. It's in there somewhere.

Quite telling that Intel had to go crazy on the power just to beat a 5900X at the same thread count.

Look at the applications aggregate results at 125W ( 20W more than 5900X ), it's slower...

We'll have to change the definition of "triumph" in the dictionary to reflect that I guess.

Because unfinished, unpolished buggy unoptimized mess doesn't fit the traditional definition last time I checked.

I listen to crashing/performance issues in games with a heavy amount of skepticism. I work at a computer store, and I get "my computer runs poorly, and I'm only running (insert low resource software name here)". Inevitably, we find that it works JUST FINE, and then they say "oh, I also have (insert system-destroying software here)".

It's a professional computer site having consistent crashing issues we're talking about, not the average clueless Joe from the neighborhood.

It was mentioned in my comment too...

From the reviews I read/watched, what I take away is:

-Lots of graphical bugs and issues, deep lack of polish especially highlighted by DigitalFoundry's review
-Slow performance on PC despite much beefier specs ( 6900XT/3090 SLOWER than XsX makes absolutely zero sense ), and crappy'ish graphics even compared to Halo 5. See computerbase.de testing.
-Strange crashing issues with "lower" end setups ( RX580/GTX1060 ), again computerbase

Some lauded the game for "this is what happens when you delay and let the developers do their job".

I disagree vehemently...

The game is half-baked. I'll try it in a year.
