Got the booster today... In my forties, Moderna ( the half dose ) after 2 Pfizer shots.

Hits like a mothertrucker. Had a aching arm first shot. 2nd I had a few flu like symptoms during my first night and a aching arm.

This one ( 3rd )... full blown flu like symptoms ever since I got up. 81F in my room with the wood stove burning away yet I feel cold ( no fever tho ). So I just decided to take this one easy in bed.

I don't even want to know what a 4th would feel like.

Here's to hoping that "cover all possible variants and coronaviruses" vaccine research the US army and others have been conducting bears fruit ( Phase 3 I think they're at? ) for the 4th. Cause I don't know if I'd be game for a 5th... And that's coming from someone who takes the flu shot every year since my teens.

If you're looking for something to watch and liked Black Mirror try The Premise on for size.
https://www.fxnetworks.com/shows/the-premise

Watched the first episode... not bad at all.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Edit: 2nd episode was even better, that ending... Great acting too.

Broken record clickbait...

"Ermagerd Bitcoin is suddenly down a few points, please disregard it rising the same amount or more in the 5 days its been since the last time we reported this!"

ETH is down 15% YTD, by the way. That's double this BTC "tumble."

Considering BTC is down to almost what it was worth a year ago and ETH is still almost 3x higher than a year ago, that article is no clickbait.

ETH was worth 1224, now at 3278.
BTC was worth 40.8K, now at 42.3k.

F'yes! Tumble away!

Now if ETH could follow suit and fall below what it was worth a year ago, that'd be nice.

There's a five million home shortfall in the US currently. That's the big driver of both housing prices and rent.

Quite the contrary, there are ~15 million unoccupied housing units in the US, Q3 2021 estimates.

Which means a bit less than 10% vacancy rate.

AMD really has to do something to regain the budget market.

AMD doesn't need to do anything as long as all its supply sells...
No lowering of prices, no lower SKU releases, nothing.

AMD is laughing all the way to the bank right now on both CPUs and GPUs.

The only thing they need to do is try to coax TSMC into more production of their current SKUs.

Yea well 5800X and 5900X gaming performance are nearly identical since games rarely if ever use the extra cores. So the 5800X3D makes the most sense if they are going to do a single CPU for gaming enthusast as as holdover until Zen 4. My 5800X has been the pinnacle of gaming for over a year and it's good to see this should keep their CPUs on top or at least very close to the new i7-12700K.

Considering the 12900k is 5-10% faster than 5800X and 5800X3D is 15% ( allegedly ) faster than 5800X, 5800X3D should beat 12900K, so 12700K too.

12900KS just might tie with it, we'll see.

I'm not sure what is the purpose of these announcements are at the moment. It's not like we'll be able to buy any of it.

Seeing as they haven't mentioned the GIANT PINK FLYING ELEPHANT in the room ( crypto ) even once despite 2021 being the worst year for gamers in the history of GPUs, it's probably a pathetic attempt to keep a façade of normality and "wE wUb GaMerRs!" bullshit.

It's idiotic we've gone back into lockdown though. It doesn't work.

In what way? It doesn't work to prevent the healthcare system from being swamped and having more people die needlessly as a result of a lack of access to care? Not to mention the people unable to access the care they need outside of Covid because the system can't handle it anymore?

Have you forgotten that the US has a death rate 3 times higher than Canada per 100k cases? You want us to follow their lead into sacrificial madness?

Is that idiotic too? Not being able to sacrifice other people's lives for a transient inconvenience?

Is that what "doesn't work"?

IT WORKS EXACTLY AS INTENDED.

I doubted Ford had the cojones to put on his man pants and put his foot down. Glad I got proved wrong.

Now, as the saying goes, if someone has a problem with that, it's their problem.
