Oh jeez, I didnít realize PUBG was going mobile too... canít wait for it to land on the mediaís radar when it gathers pop culture momentum with Fortnite, and theyíll blowup itís violence beyond reason

That level certainly looks pretty enough, but the track appears fairly flat and not super interesting to race on

wipeout let the ships have mass and momentum, flying them around very unique tracks had a surfing quality to the physics. It was far from easy to control, and the original was outright punishing with wall collisions killing all speed and damaging your ship significantly

Hereís hoping they make this title with depth and not just visuals

Makes sense, but I doubt this allegation is enough to dent their skyrocketing market value that's being driven by ridiculous demand for their GPUs (miners)

First line from the Cuphead review... he cuts to the chase:
The best way by far to experience Cuphead is to move to a state with marijuana friendly laws, and while abiding by all laws and following all regulations, smoke marijuana while you play this game. This will raise your anger threshold as well as give you the ability to repetitively play levels over and over again because this game is hard as all of fuck.

since ain't nobody going to help by exhibiting even the slightest amount of map awareness.

A mini-map or small radar on the HUD would make team coordination, communication, and general gameplay way easier to execute.

The majority of other FPS franchises use one.

Rainbow Six Siege is the only FPS multiplayer that I can think of in which one is not used during live gameplay.

I'm the same way. My fear is they put Mystery Heroes on a random rotation like the other game types. I'd probably stop playing. It really makes you focus on staying alive, too, since if you can lose your ult.

It was part of the rotation, but itís been a dedicated option for at least a year now.

It canít really be trolled, disconnecting players have limited impact, and really odd team compositions actually keep things interesting. Itís challenging to be a jack-of-all-trades but being opportunistic is very important when your team has a hero advantage or other team is lacking.

Iíd rather lose to a random number generator for hero selection than from a structured team or exploitationís of imbalanced heroes.

mid engine cars will not rotate properly and just understeer at limits

Iíve never driven a mid-engine car IRL, much less a race version at its limits, but I have always been disappointed with how sims depict the handling.

Most recently I purchased the Ferrari 488 GT3/GTE for iRacing, and initially it felt like the car was balanced precariously on the tip of a pen. Quick to react but easy to lose out of control, especially under braking. Theyíve dialed it in since initial release, but how much closer it performs to reality is beyond me!

Maybe with real GT3 data from this partnership, these guys can step up the authenticity.

Very ambitious title, but UE4 is a great idea and I reallllllly look forward to trying their tire model with dynamic weather.

Heads up though, Assetto Corsa was also Steam Early Access and it took over a year for it to have enough polished content with tuned physics/tires to make it a recommended sim.

But this is a more narrow focus and official support should mean access to real performance data...

...I wonder if Competizione will support mods, which are a big bonus from Assetto Corsa's community!

If more ppl would vote with their wallet, we would not have this kind of issue, however, having a label "loot box alert" attached to the game would be a small step in recognizing that this mechanic is a problem.

The crux of the problem is this entire scummy fake currency system big publishers (but really, mainly EA, Activision and Ubisoft) have setup. There is a reason lootboxes are considered gambling, since you often can't even pay for them with direct money transfer, there is always 1 more step involved which detaches you from the payment, and especially for younger people this is a huge problem. And just like casinos give you chips for money, EA gives you fake money for real money that THEN lets you buy loot boxes. Why are casinos gambling if loot boxes aren't?

The gaming industry's argument is that the player never "loses" when opening a loot box; a reward is always provided, even if undesirable.

It's hard to argue against that, because the risk of "losing your bet" is critical function of gambling.

But in some ways, loot boxes are worse than casino gambling:
  • Most publishers provide NO WAY of exchanging your loot (ie casino chips) into real cash.
  • Most publishers provide NO WAY of exchanging your loot into other games, including sequels (ie: chips can't even be played on other tables or leave the casino).
  • Most publishers provide loot that boosts the players ability to win/earn/achieve results in the video game, so there is a more complex psychological connection than just winning money. (ie: chip value is more than just a direct relationship with money)

  • Then toss in the element of selling to kids, and we've got ourselves an industry that has gone too far without regulation... IMO...

Big FTL fan here, had a great time exploring space and listening to new music with that game.

The silly dialog and choose-your-own-adventure element gave it a lot of replay, toss in random weapons from shops and super fun gameplay... FTL is a classic!

Into the Breach doesnít have the choose-your-own-adventure, and Iím skeptical of the gameplay has enough depth.

The changes now make mercy a non-required support, and thatís more in line with proper balancing.

Also, the slower movement speed during Valkyrie makes her aim easier to control, and Iíve seen multiple POTG with a Mercy flying around and landing consistent headshots.

I could never get into Fallout, always a clunky mess of bugs and half executed ideas with minor yet glaring flaws but somehow nostalgia keeps people from rating it what it is... an average franchise, not a glorious one.

M$ is like a sports team that can never make the playoffs, but buy players from other teams at maximum market value to try and win the championship next year, only to flop again.

I know this idea is not Microsoft's style... but M$ could put its money behind indie development instead of trying to buy whatever is trending, and cultivate its own 1st party content.

ID@Xbox is the current program but applicants, if picked, just get some free tools and a couple XB1 kits... hardly enticing and sorely ignoring the problems indies face with limited programing time, debugging ability, and project management experience.

With all that money and human power M$ has, they can find a space between between Kickstarter (which is notorious for gaming failures) and Steam (which is notorious for too many early access titles that go no where).

Hell they could run a competition in which developers pitch ideas and early gameplay/story concepts, engage players through the Xbox platform and social media to vote on what they like, and then every quarter award the top five indies with $10 million in backing to see their game developed.

Again, I know that's not M$'s style but...
