Guy deserved to be fired, but yes, odd that it's a JPG (sure it was put in that form for Twitter or maybe Instagram, but why their site), and odd there's no link on the main page.

Because they are lazy bums! It's human nature to hire people like yourself, and clearly this guy they fired is more like them then they care to admit.

Here's the tweet.

Have you played Axiom Verge?

I finally picked this up last sale... Played an hour or so... Thoroughly disappointed...

Loved Dead Cells though... And Seraph felt great too...

Disappointed how?

I think it’s super cool that the whole game was created by one dude as a side project. I enjoyed his artistic expression, thought the cohesion of its design and balance really showcased a self-defined project. It’s like listening to a song created and played by a musician who wrote and played all the instruments, then compiled it together into one track.

It’s won’t go down as the greatest ever, but asa proper indie title, I give the man props!

Yeah, the control/combat is amazing for a sidescroller, I just wish it wasn't infected with that Rogue-lite-whatever bullshit that seems to be in every other game these days. A traditional game with continues from death or something, with Dead Cells' control scheme and combat, and pretty much every other design decision except the rogue-lite death nonsense would have been perfect.
This is how I feel as well. I was really interested in this game at first. Anything rogue-like/lite is an instant no-buy from me. I don't have a ton of time to play games these days, so perma-death or other mechanics that wipe/reset progress are just too frustrating and not an option.

I think you’re looking at this the wrong way: there is very little time commitment with a roguelike… your deaths will be frequent and swift until you figure it out. And then even a “deep” run will rarely go above 1 hour. A typical Metrovania game is +10 hours until things get interesting from a gameplay complexity standpoint.

I haven't clicked on an IGN review in a long time... and they pulled their Dead Cells review because of plagiarism... HAH!

Picked this up during the summer sale. It’s so goddamn good, I can’t explain it. The combat feels great even at the beginning, with limited weapons. It just gets better as it goes, although luck-of-the-draw factors heavily into how far you’ll get in a given run. I now routinely can make it to the second boss..but sometimes my weapon combination doesn’t cut it for him.

It’s pricey for an Indie, for sure. It’s not so much castlevania as it is “Rogue Legacy with way, WAY, impossibly better control.” It just FEELS right, it’s hard to put into words.

Still, I'm looking forward to this and They Are Billions coming out of Early Access this year, with great anticipation.

Have you played Axiom Verge?

Animation looks great, and it appears the gameplay is on the same level. I’ll pick this one up next time I have a cold (platformers are my go-to when I’m sick)

1. Re: Assetto Corsa Competizione Early Access in September Jul 31, 2018, 17:41 theglaze

It will be interesting to see how well this title does.

It seems the masses prefer lots of cars and tracks, like PC2, but Forza 7 flopped on PC with its Windows Store release and poor performance and wheel support.

This title also surpeesses modding with encrypted files, so there’s a lot of people from rF2 and original AC.

So I guess it’s going after the iRacing crowd on PC, and GT7 crowd wanting those FIA events, but they’re just as loyal as any there fan base.

Sooooo, this is going to kinda flop?

As an actor that can play vulnerable, satanical, volatile, and sarcastic... I think he's a great pick for a story arch that falls into one of DC's best villains.

Why the hell is it called the Dakar Rally if it takes place in South America?

Land mines were a major issue with many deaths since the 90’s. I believe there were kidnapings and/or robbery of event workers and the support teams that are temporarily in small towns.

I haven't used SLI since running 1024x768 on my voodoo 2 pair (king of the hill back then!). How does SLI stack up on older cards? I have a 960 and can pick up another cheap 960. My mobo (surprisingly) does have 2 slots so I can theoretically SLI them, im sure my PSU can support both too.

Is it worth bothering though? I know that ideally a new GFX would be preferable, but if you already have an old card and can pick up a cheap identical one, would it be worthwhile doing so?

Once you stick the other card in and physically link them using a SLI Bridge (probably need to buy that separately), you just enable SLI within the GeForce drivers. That’s it. Games that support SLI should auto-detect it; games that don’t support SLI will just use the primary card.

Should you do it?
- Are there titles that you enjoy which also support SLI? Is there room to bump up quality or FPS?
- Maybe you like to tinker and enjoy benchmarking and recording performance.

Crossfire/SLI use to be a go to for me in my rig.

Hell I even had an ATI 4870X2 and tossed in another 4870 for triple GPU action! I have no idea how my Corsair 750W PSU could deal with that...

Pick up a single, affordable mainstream GPU and then six months to a year down the line buy another one - possibly for less than the price of your first one - and net the same level of performance you’d get from a more expensive high-end graphics card.

That was the strategy. Buy the GPU that is one step below the flagship (GTX 670 instead of 680) and when prices reduce, or the GTX 780 comes out, buy a cheaper 670 and you're going faster than the latest single GPU on market. I did that for years...

HoSpanky wrote on Jun 30, 2018, 10:13:
So, SLI/crossfire may be all but dead for mainstream gaming, but one place it has a potentially bright future is VR.

I totally agree. Perhaps the current headsets just don't offer the resolution to really show off eye-candy graphics. Yes, some games already challenge a 1080Ti, but in the headset, they don't look THAT much better than regular VR titles.

IMO, that won't last much longer, and I believe like you that SLI/Crossfire will be the only way to run the near-4k-VR-headsets.

My only beef with this is that the game is shit...

I really hope Battlefield can become the AAA Battle Royale mode with the foundation of a proper shooter with great level design, physics, graphics, gun-play, vehicles, etc, etc.

PUBG and Fornite are meant for smelly casuals!

TBH, if any FPS franchise could actually present a solid Battle Royale mode... it's this one!

Massive Maps and player count = A cornerstone of the franchise
Vehicles = Have your pick
Gun-play depth = Miles ahead of the other popular titles
Parachutes = Just pull the cord

Add in artillery barrages or gas attacks to simulate the safe zone, and they'd have the best Battle Royale mode on the market...

I guess we'll just have to settle for the normal BF experience: random public lobbies with ridiculously skilled team hogging the best vehicle (which no one can kill) and the endless cycle of spawn kiling.

Can't wait Blank

Why can't they just make up more interesting and completely impossible wars? Disregard the limitations of "reality", and let's have some fun!

This is a god damn video game, not a history book. How about...

Antarctica vs. Australia
New Zealand vs. Argentina
Canada vs. Mexico
India vs. Mongolia
Turkey vs. Norway
USA vs. Egypt
UK vs. Brazil
