Here's the GOOD hudless video incase you're lazy

Thank you for the link!

I'm still a fan of BF series because of the audio/video quality they bring to the FPS multiplayer table.

That said, they've dropped the ball with RUSH mode after Bad Company 2 and haven't picked it up since. IO thought the BF1 Rush experience in the public beta was WEAK.

I was hopeful that they would revitalize Rush with WW1 trench warfare and the desperation of holding the line or trying to storm through defenses. But my impression was, once again, a focus on making Conquest mode work first with maximum player and vehicle counts...and then attempts to 're-purpose' those maps for Rush mode. But the quality just isn't there, and at this point, pushes me away from buying it.

The problem is too much reliance on automated & community moderation. It was easier to keep a lid on hackers in the days of privately run dedicated servers with admins.
I played CS on dedicated servers a lot years ago. You're viewing the world through rose colored glasses, because I remember cheating to be wildly rampant. Speedhacks, wallhacks, aimbots....you name it and it was everywhere. Bans against good players (who weren't cheating) were also a regular thing with ego-driven admins. Punkbuster helped somewhat...but it was still VERY prevalent. But the internet was small then....cheating today facilitated by large hacker groups for PROFIT....not for fun. It's just like the new Crypto malware/virus forks that are all over the place....it didn't seem as bad back then because there wasn't any money in it and the world was smaller, not because we were supermen and more skilled at stopping it.

I have not played competitively since the days of R6 RvS. As I remember it it was just as bad with Punkbuster than before Punkbuster. It was just that the industry and Punkbuster were promoting their anti-cheat system as the best alternative when in actuality it was the same shit different name. There were cheats out that PB could not detect that required the admin to see a screenshot of your game folder to actually see if you had a cheat file present. LoL, and of course you could hide it very easily.

My clan played in two leagues on two ladders here in NA with some members living in the UK and Italy. Not to mention spread all over the US and Canada. After a few months of competition we found that each of the top teams had members that were also admins on the league forums and PB forums. One female PB admin/player was busted for having hacks claiming her son had been using her PC and that he must have installed the hacks. LoL!

The nail in the coffin for me was a two stage implosion of the clan. First one of our members, Badger, was caught with a hack which got him banned and the whole clan suspended. Then after gaining access to compete again we were fighting our way back up the ladder trying for a spot at second rung on the ladder and two guys in the clan had an argument during the match. An asshat going by the name of Jethro threw the match giving us the loss. It was the game mode were you had to escort a VIP, he was the VIP and ran out into the open getting himself shot. Next round he shot the VIP himself. What a douche.

The anti-cheat is better, and one of the major clients is now published through the Steam Store (ESEA). Tick rates are much higher with better server registration, and compared to the standard Valve matchmaking, players are legitimately good...so don't pay to play iESEA unless you compete in leagues, the competition is ruthless.

1. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Valve has been consistently improving core elements of the game; almost all weapons have had improvements made to gun shot sounds and animations, and they've even begun to improve recoil accuracy. This weeks update also fixed a major complaint with the game's first vs third-person inconsistencies and animations. It's been a while since the last operation (DLC co-operative missions with AI) and I assume the next one is around the corner.

Since Overwatch release, and Valve's ban on gambling with gun skins, my gun skin inventory has decreased in value by 15%, however, I've seen an 8% gain in the last 4 weeks.

CSGO Update:

They've made the AWP actually sound like a boom stick! Each shot creates an echoing roll of thunder throughout the map, cascading sound that's difficult to place. Not sure how well it will be recieved by the competitive communty, but it's hilarious in casual modes!

COH campaign was perhaps the most fun I've ever had with an RTS. I also couldn't get into COH2, although there were many changes and improvements to the multiplayer.

I may have to try the original campaign again to see if it still stands up.

Maybe you have the wrong link, it's no longer in Brta and should be just Apex.

whats the best wheel under $100?

The cheapest product on that list is the Thrustmaster TMX @ $165 via Amazon.

So under $100 means buying a used wheel, and it can be tricky to get a decent one. These are mechanical devices and they wear over time. There are significant G25 & G27 communities that are a great resource for mods, upgrades, replacement parts, and buying used wheels.

Amazing that the Logitech MOMO is still supported after...*uses toes*....14 years? I do not recommend buying a used MOMO, but do your research.

From http://news.xbox.com/2016/09/06/forza-motorsport-6-apex-comes-beta-wheel-support

With today’s update, we’re bringing support for a number of popular wheels to the Forza franchise, in Apex and the soon to be released Forza Horizon 3. This full list:

Logitech G27 Racing Wheel
Logitech G25 Racing Wheel
Logitech G29 Racing Wheel
Logitech MOMO Force Feedback Racing Wheel
Thrustmaster T300RS
Thrustmaster T500 RS Gaming Wheel
Logitech G920 Xbox One Wheel
Thrustmaster T150
Thrustmaster TX Xbox One Wheel
Thrustmaster TMX Xbox One Wheel
Thrustmaster RGT Force Feedback Racing Wheel

Note that there are additional wheels that we plan on bringing on board soon...

Not sure why they don't mention Fanatec...both the CSW V2 and CSL are listed within the game.

Buuuuuut, my CSW V1 is NOT recognized by the game! The official post you quoted goes on to say:

"notably Fanatec products such as the ClubSport V2 Xbox One Hub and the Fanatec CSR models. Support for these Fanatec wheels will be arriving in Apex beginning in late September, with updates for both Windows 10 and Apex."

CSR was of the same generation as the CSW V1...so maybe V1 owners will get support too?

Worms WMD is great!

Highly recommended to seasoned vets and anyone looking for a turn-based strategy game.

I played an enormous amount of worms back in the day, but never found it fun unless doing it sandbox. My team against 2 or 3 other teams, with way overpowered weapons. Playing with just bazookas and ropes, as the game seems to do if you don't do custom games, is tedious to me.

Adding holy handgrenades and super sheep, though...

WMD brings a lot of new to the table, including a crafting system that lets you break down guns and build better versions or new stuff. The mounted guns and vehicles seem more console focused because they lack accuracy.

I haven't tried online multiplayer, or even browsed what's available. I imagine custom games are still allowed, plus classic modes and such. Custom local matches are still available.

Gran Turismo Sport delayed from this fall to ambiguous 2017 launch. GT delays from Polyphony are perhaps the most predictable in the industry...

Exciting to see, however, the opportunity this has created for Assetto Corsa which coincidentally launches today on PS4!

Do those tards still not have a career mode in their F1 game? I mean the whole fucking point of the good old F1 sims like Micrprose's Grand Prix series was to slip into the role of your fav F1 driver and take him through an entire season of races with all ups and downs and shit.
I was shocked, stunned and appalled when I found out that Codemasters' F1 games don't even have this most essential game mode.
That's right on par with offering a Doom game without guns. It's the very definition of What. The. Actual. Fucking. Fuck.

Many people felt the first one, F1 2010 had the best career of the series, and each subsequent instalment took a step back in the complexity, detail, and interaction that 2010 provided.

This one, however, appears to have surpassed the detail and features found in all previous career modes. I'm more of a hot lap kind of racer, chasing the perfect lap time whilst mentally in the zone, but I feel like starting up a career with a back marker team and try out a full weekend.

I'll be checking F1 2016 out tonight, I'm excited for the latest instalment.

Competition is a little different this year with the McLaren MP4-31 in iRacing, and Assetto Corsa providing Red Bull Ring DLC with the 2013 Ferrari F138 and 2015 SF15-T

But this title from Codies is the only one that has the full F1 calendar. I'll be all over it tonight, and if I remember, I'll post about my initial impressions to anyone who is curious

I keep hanging at 62. There's a big diff between 59 and 62. No teamplay or voicechat at 59. OK teamplay and much voicechat at 62. I love that.

Voicechat...

IMO, it's a mandatory requirement to play a team-based game at any competitive level.

And the match making system needs to penalize or segregate players who do not join team voicechat, who do not use their own mic, or have voices muted.

I've played matches where no one speaks and we put down a whooping on the other team, but that requires competent players that understand the meta and a lot of mistakes by the opponent. Also, some players are great listeners and follow discussions and request by voice. Maybe they're fragging from the babies room or something.

But outright refusal to participate in voicecomm because someone "doesn't want to"?....well put them at a lower competitive tier

I'm not an expert on this at all, but 1000ms/63 ticks is 15ms. Does that mean we will need a 15ms ping to the server or we will have lost ticks? If so, that's pretty aggressive I think!

No it doesn't work that way. They aren't lost if your ping is higher than 15ms. Read this reddit post for a much better description of what is changed:

Overwatch servers were always 60tick though. The issue is that the client used a cmdrate of only 20, which meant that clients only saw 20 of those 60 ticks and had to guess to fill in the gaps (this is called interpolation and lerp). This lead to huge mispredictions (where the client realizes it wasn't right and the server was, so the client snaps back to the correct value from the server). This is most evident in situations here you appear to get shot behind walls and appear to use an ability to save yourself even though it doesn't actually fire in time, even if it does on your screen.

And here is another post that gives good specifics.

Tickrate, cmdrate, and updaterate are all completely different.

Tickrate is the number of frames or ticks the server renders per second. A higher number means more accurate fast-paced action. In Overwatch this value is 60 and always was. In TF2 it's 66.

Cmdrate is the number of those ticks that the client actually receives per second. This can be lower than the tickrate and in Overwatch it was 20, it's now 60. In TF2 this is by default 66 but can be lowered. If this value is lower than the tickrate and the client framerate then the client does its best to predict frames between each tick it gets sent so that the action isn't jittery. These actions are called lerp in video games, or interpolation in general.

Updaterate is the number of times the client sends its own input to the server - for instance, your shooting, movements, and aiming. This can be any value from 1 to the tickrate. In TF2 this is 66 and in Overwatch this is 60 and always has been.

Thanks for the detail!
