The Bethesda conference was dogshit.

The front row were giving standing ovations on every "applause" line. If there ever felt like a planted audience, this was it. People whooping and hollering at the first mention of the flaming dumpster fire that is Fallout 76, and then doing the same for the 3 mobile game announcements. lawl.
yeah the applause was very cringey from the employees in the front row. E3 attendees are not for the everyday public or gamer. You either have to be a news journalist of some sort or pay a large ticket price.

It will be whatever works best with co-op as Im pretty sure that will be a big selling feature. so likely turn based. Same as traditional d&d etc.

Nope. Only if they similarly recognize "Television Disorder", "Gardening Disorder", "Forum Participant Disorder", "News Follower Disorder", "Music Lover Disorder", "Netflix Disorder", "Beer Disorder" (well, maybe not that one), "Lego Disorder", "Socializing with Friendly People Disorder", "Daily Routine Disorder", "Hobby Disorder", "Doin' Lots of Shit You Like Because Life is Short Disorder", and so on.

True, however a good side effect of this might be to combat the preying of publishers/developers with loot crates, games with thousands of dollars of dlc's, or gems etc. That is something I could get behind. Recognize responsibility towards your customers, same as alcohol, gambling etc, but not ban them. Putting loot crates in a game could be seen as the same as taking a 8 year old to the track and giving them a beer while they put bets on.

6. Re: WHO Recognizes May 26, 2019, 18:09 clint

yeah im not buying it.. at least as it reads.
Definitively true that people can be addicted to games but it isn't the games but the person as far as I've seen proven. I would agree with the statement if there was a proven study if the video games were taken away and the person was not affected by other common addictions, just the games itself. But then again, a person is rarely just an alcoholic, just a gambler etc but a multitude of issues that come from a certain baseline personality susceptible to addictions. I guess at the end of the day, we haven't banned alcohol, card playing, races, gambling and anything more damaging in our lives, then games are pretty safe.

News Comments > Bethesda Blocked Game Sale Because of "New" Designation
36. Re: Bethesda Blocked Game Sale Because of Aug 13, 2018, 04:39 clint

The part i hate is that even if bethesda is technically/legally right, their lawyer teams and marketing/sales teams are always so aggressive and always seem to be pushing the boundaries of how much money can be leveraged. Even if there is a slight grey area to who is in the right, they will push it. I feel its not very customer/industry friendly and very cold corporate.
eg.
The scrolls names rights,
Prey for the gods name change,
Fortress Fallout name change
Fallout MMO rights (battle was very bloody and very unfriendly to Interplay and Black Isle studios whom have gone bankrupt. Bethesda were very ruthless and never gave a inch or goodwill.)
Carmack and VR moneys,
Paid dlc
paid mods
starting their own store and not selling anywhere else.
so many re-releases and ports at full price.

Feels very 90's microsoft. or apple since the ipod.

Anybody on Blues playing this game at all? It certainly looks cool, but it's also basically small team pvp, which turns toxic almost immediately, soo....

Yes it is fun and looks beautiful. Ships are varied and handle well. I think the engine is just asking for a SP mode with story but I always do... I worry a bit about the money making aspect of the game, how upgrading works, and I feel the balance is not tight enough to be a competitive e-sport type game. But definitely fun especially if you team up with a friend or two. Dreadnought to me feels similar in game design to world of warships/tanks.

re:Maddog "Is this "battle royale" mode the game style of this PUBG game everyone is talking about? Sorry, serious question. I don't play much online MP anymore."
yep, its last man standing with only one life, on a large open world map that shrinks killing those not in the safe zone. You start with nothing and scrounge your weapons and equipment from the environment or off the bodies of fallen foes. Think the movie The Hunger Games. There have been lots and lots of mods or games with this mode and it seems to be getting more popular in every incarnation. Arma 2 I think had the first mods but there are lots. I played alot of ARK's version adding dinosaurs and freak disasters to the gameplay.

There is always big propaganda on both sides and usually the answer is somewhere in between. The big tip is to follow who really wants the change and how much has been spent (money and time to get it). The people who are pushing the changes are not in this for consumers and the greater good.

LittleMe wrote on Nov 22, 2017, 03:41:
NN is corporate propaganda. You are useful idiots. Regulations often inflate prices and protect markets to exploit you the consumer. Look at what the FDA has done with drug prices for example. They want to do the same thing to you with Title II. I'm not saying an ISP like Comcast is good but I don't think Title II or strong handed socialist regulation was the answer.

An open market and competition is the much more powerful answer to be sure the Internet is free and open. You the consumer need to have the power, not the feds and not the incompetent FCC.

Now direct your anger at your local government to open up more competition to give you more choices. That would be constructive.

The good news is the average gaming PC might have a chance to catch up and be able to run it well when it does come out.
