I know you are joking, but that's a really interesting question, or rather.. how many of the original kickstarters have died since then?
The original kickstarter started 8 years ago (2012-10-18).
There were 34 397 backers in the kickstarter.
Assuming only men with average age of 30, then the expected death ratio over 8 years is 1.37%, which results in 471 deaths.
1 year later the total pledge amount was $23M, and assuming $60 per person then there were around 380 000 backers.
Expected deaths for 7 years: 1.24% => 4700 dead of those that bought in the first year.
The numbers of course change drastically by the age and gender distribution, but I think this would be a ballpark number.
There are now 2 835 000 backers according to the star citizen funding page. Still assuming average age of 30, then the annual deaths should be 0.15%, 4250 per year or 350 per month.
