This games popularity never ceases to baffle me.

I played C.O.D.'s but there basically digital toilet paper. Once your done you discard, flush and move on.

And here's evidence that its close to a national past time? I'm getting too old for this stuff if this is the case.

Well the idea of the Lego MMO is fine. One of the main problems is everybody who would actually want a Lego MMO, are playing on Minecraft, solo or servers.

Granted it lacks the polish of the Lego MMO. But you pay the entry fee to Minecraft and you unlock all the server's and you can download a whole bunch of interesting mods.

I think the Lego MMO missed the idea of KISS. Keep It Simple Stupid. Which is where Minecraft and the couple games like it, excel.

I'm torn with this game. On one hand getting it ASAP and enjoying it with everyone else would be great.

On the other hand there is next to zero reason to pre-order this. No bonus's, no trinkets, even if its something lame. There is just nothing to give a reason that this is a must have pre-order. And for the near 100% chance that there will be a major patch that will be needed, why risk it?

Alright well with it being monitored I'll give my thoughts a bit.

I think they really shouldn't be using those words. Its 2011 that kind of child like talk should be over by the time you leave middle-school, or whatever your countries similar type of early-teen place of learning maybe.

I guess the Human race's destiny is to endlessly take two steps forward and one step back. Or in Cannibal corpse's case here 3 steps back.

Ohhh yes, we cannot disagree with people's views anymore and get away with it. You know what, I am a Christian, we get bashed a lot as well. Yup, but I would not call it hate speech. For example, if someone kills a christian, they should be charged for murder. We start adding all this other bs to the mix and you will see homosexuals getting locked up for speaking their mind against Christians. I am not for hate speech regulation because guess who defines what hate speech is? You guessed it...the government and states...What exactly is hate speech? The bible and nature says homosexuality is wrong...Does that mean I cannot believe and have religious freedoms any longer? I am all for everyone being able to speak their mind. That includes the Christian, the muslim, etc...

And with that here comes the R&P debate, that doesn't belong on a gaming site.

Just lock the thread now Blue, I'm sure it will not take long for this topic discussion to go from games centric to Religion & Politics.

I would tend to think, that they are not scared of SWTOR, or Guild Wars 2 much. But its bound to be a part of this move, along with player retention to WoW. I believe its definitely a combination of all 3.

And its not a bad plan ether from there view, they control B-net, they control the entire digital Diablo 3 aspect, its virtually all profit to them. And not to mention the cash they will rake in for that real money for items sold in the auction house or whatever that deal was that they are doing in D3.

All it costs them is cheap bandwidth to maintain your WoW account for the year. And the however many GB-size your digital copy of D3 costs to send to each player.

I dunno, I'm slightly more worried there trying to attract the Battlefield crowd into what is a sci-fi rpg game. Now some people do play FPS's and RPG's like myself and love both, but I have got to be in the minority on that. I don't have facts to back me up but it seems to me that people who play Battlefield will not be likely to buy into an SCI-Fi rpg.

I do see it as an attempt to lure more people into this Origin deal. It smells bad to me. Nothing about whats going on at EA seems like the best idea ever.

I'm still in shock its actually 100% true. Least its not some goofy 16 player cover based mechanic's online death match.

But yeah looking at it, it almost looks like a pure anti-used game sales scheme. I don't care what anybody says EA's pulling such major strings at BioWare that I don't even think its safe to call them two seperate entities anymore.

Having said those things... I'm still buying it. Switching to buying the game slightly later after release and not pre-order as originally intended.

I like how he says it though. PC guys are the unique ones, each of our PC's are different, modified by us to our own liking. Were not defined by a single hardware setup. If you solely play on a console your letting an entire company define the kind of gamer you are. We make our own definitions on this side of the aisle.

Its nice language for cheering on the PC crowd.

Having actually played and beaten RDR on PS3. I can say that some of the game would need to be changed in order for it to work in a PC setting.

The main issue off the top of my head, is how its controller based auto aim system is used during horse/coach rides. How it works is the game literally and fully auto aims you to a target just by using left trigger. It actually cycles targets with each left trigger press.

So riding along on a coach/horse its literally this: *Under attack* Left trigger-right trigger to shoot. Left-right, left-right, left-right. Thats an actual shoot out.

I'm a fan of mouse based aiming too, fully. But this game hand holds you. Maybe thats why they don't release it on PC. They don't want to have to re-do game mechanics.

Back on to the topic of an Auto-balancer for graphics settings.

I don't mind the idea of it, in terms of say, Auto-detect. Where it attempts to detect the best settings it thinks it can set.

But I think its super important to allow for user customization after that. Or before that. Or the option not to hit the Auto-Detect graphics capabilities to begin with.

Auto-balancer should be an option, not a requirement.

I wish this whole thing would just go away. It was out of left field, so to speak, to begin with. Notch doesn't come across as doing this intentionally by any stretch of the imagination, in my view.

Just keep making Minecraft, Notch, stick to finishing what you started there...

Well maybe it won't be all that bad. Could be just a trashy tacked on experience that people will totally forget about 6 months after launch.

Maybe it won't affect the singleplayer aspect. Thats all I want ME3 for, is closure to the story.

Let them have MP. let it be restricted to, what is the max for console's? 16? BAH! let them, I say. As long as it doesn't mess with Single-play why worry? Of course it would mean that they really... really dumbed down the combat. damn.

Yeah agreed, it comes down to you ether like it or don't.

I was concerned when he added in the hunger level to the game. But it really helps make food crafting enjoyable, and meaningful.

I'm sure whatever comes next will be a fine addition. Also you can just spoil it for yourself and watch the Yogscast video's on youtube to see all new features, as they find them.

Ohh for the love of... No BioWare just friggin combo ME1 and ME2 together into a fantastic game. Take the good from both lose the bad.

I don't even need to know what the Killer new feature is. I just don't. Unless its built in video capture software so you can record your own game vs say Fraps. Then no good can come from this annoucement. None.

And I'm a BioWare fan! But they keep making it harder for me to justify anything there doing lately.

This.

I would be a bit pissed if Farcry 3 doesn't come out on the PC though, maybe.

Wow. I never even thought that could be a possibility. That would be just awful. A true sign of the downfall of PC gaming.

Its safe to assume your being sarcastic here. I hope so. I mean have you played FarCry 2? It looked pretty, sure, it ran great and really wasn't outright buggy. But I found a serious lack of fun within it. It felt like it was trying to be an RPG world, but with a Serious Sam mentality. Game-play was non stop run and gun. You couldn't be stealthy, the enemies ALWAYS knew where you are. The guard posts Insta-repopped. It was one of the messiest display's of a game I ever did see.

No if they end up with a mess of a game for Farcry 3 and they don't release it on PC, I honestly think were better off.

Well Creston spells Kotaku's problems out very nicely and honestly and I fully agree with him.

What I like about here vs other places is how you have the story and link-to source on the main page. VS say other places, but probably other places get cash for having people click on each story. From the writer to site staff. Which is fine you know everybody needs to make money. But as a site visitor it kinda sucks. Here I see if I want to even click on a topic to begin with. And not to mention misleading/poorly written news topic titles on Kotaku.

If you were to make it Kotaku styled, I'd go with putting larger sentences and descriptions to a news bullet point so we can consider how much we want to actually click on them.

As for Shacknews. The cover page. I don't care for it, I'm visiting a news site for news. Not some latest review, not some latest hot topic or game ad or vid that they are ether paid to promote, or the site editor thinks its worth putting on it. I know I can just book mark straight to news. So its kinda a non topic. But if people just skip it anyway why waste the bandwidth?

Also for shack and joystiq, its how there days are not clearly seperated. I come here, I know that I have yesterdays below, and today's on top. I know I have morning news below and afternoon/evening news above. When I visit shack/joystiq its just one giant list. One news topic over another, you end up scrolling a long time to find what you might or might not want to read/know about as well as no clear definition of what was early in the day, or late in the day for news.

Shacks comment system maybe works for them but I think its horrendous. Here I have to click on comments to view them. By clicking that I know that I shouldn't expect all positive comments. You scroll down a shack page and there you see everybody flapping there gums, when sometimes you really don't want to know what people are saying about a given topic.

Opinion wise I enjoy the color scheme here its easy on my eyes anyway.

As long as it doesn't turn into Kotaku's style of news, or the wtf is this disaster? Shacknews. Websites I'll be fine. (those are my opinions of them)

I'd weigh my opinion in on a dummy page, sure, try something out.

Gun Runners DLC I'm on hold for, maybe until a sale.

The Courier's stash however reeks of Horse armor to me. I've downloaded so many modded armor types for free that I'd never need that.

Yeah I agree its starting to get over the top with the DLC for this game.

I liked Jade Empire myself too. I agree it was great to get a fresh west style RPG vs the usual status-quo of Orc's and Dwarves.

In that game I realized I sucked at the martial arts of it so, I just kept putting points into making the sword last longer. Enough to where I only used that for the rest of the game.

If they end up DA2'ing its sequel I will be avoiding it completely.
