last mission on Alpha Protocol really pissed me off. if you didn't have just the right build tough luck your screwed. So why give choices at all.
In any case it's not a huge deal and I agree with everything else you said, but I very much disagree it is the least intrusive. A DRM that activates at install and then never needs to be seen again is the least intrusive, and Steam is not that.
Um that is what steam does for DRM. the rest is a chat client/store. it only activates once you do not need to be online unless you are using steamworks and saving on steam cloud.
you can go to steamapps folder and open commonapps and make your own shortcuts and outside of VALVE and some online games you do NOT NEED STEAM LOADED. just for the activation one time that's it.
Probably end up being like all other steam DRM. Only needed for activation once after that you can run it from the steamapps without loading steam. I really dont get why people get so up in arms over the most non-invasive DRM out there.

Did you know you can play most steam games without loading steam? Really try locating the game in the steamapps/commonappps folder and creating your own shortcut to it. 99% dont need steam loaded. So drm free yeah except for the activation check.
Glad the highlight can be removed, i want playing is it was a friend of mine and on a later build than the beta.
the highlight objects thing is too much it ruins the pretty graphics with a solid yellow ladder that you might miss if your computer chip didn't make it neon yellow or the boxes. If they could tone down the high light or turn it off it will be much better. And sneaking is harder than it looks the newer AI is much improved trust me than the leaked beta.
