Anyone else get a BitcoinMiner exploit blocked (hopefully) by your AV when you go to the SW:BF2 gameplay article?

We just updated moments ago to include the VC++ Redist 2010 (which was causing many issues).

Read this with a wry smile, having previously had to handle an emergency re-release for exactly the same reason. As a component installed with Visual Studio everyone in app dev and QA had this on their machine, but of course most clients would not...

The prudent thing to do with this game is wait a full 6 months after release for bugs to be ironed out -- and then give it a one month try.

Coincidentally, my strategy for every single game.
..although a sharp drop in price is also a reason.

I've watched this jump 100k in the last 4 hours. Almost certain to smash the target figure.

That's, what, $100+ million in sales?

Anyone know any figures on what this means in terms of development and running costs? Is that enough to break even and the rest is profit, or nowhere near it yet?

the flourishing kingdoms of elves, dwarves and mankind were consumed by chaos. Undead hordes lead by archwizards of the dark arts overran the land.

so fresh and exciting

lol, astute. But give the people what they want I guess, endless schlock fantasy.

It was only semi annoying in DOW2. I've also had Bioshock 2 problems, thought it was just me.

After GFWL updated itself repeatedly in a fairly confusing manner it now crashes every time I launch the game (this is on a brand new Win 7-64 machine). Windows switches to the desktop while it 'searches for a solution', I just alt-tab back. Fortunately B2 is still running and playable otherwise it'd be infuriating.

Yay for GFWL.

BL1 memories;

1. Purchase on Steam, tear through game, co-oping with friend, fun, fun, fun.
2. Purchase first DLC, friend's machine now crashes continually, eh?
3. Discover that while original has no DRM, the DLC stealth installed SecuROM. Great. Friend's machine has no CD-ROM (and why not these days), as near as we can figure this is cause of crashes.
4. Uninstalled, goodbye, and f**k you Gearbox/Steam/whoever's fault it was, we couldn't be arsed getting a refund but will forever blame you and won't be buying any more of your sh*t.
