Capt. Malcolm Reynolds : "It's of interest to me how much you seem to know about that world."
Shepherd Book : "I wasn't born a shepherd, Mal."
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds : "You have to tell me about that sometime."
Shepherd Book : [pause] "No, I don't."

Always hoped I'd get to see that part of the Verse played out. R.I.P. Ron Glass

Sugar needs to be treated the same as tobacco and alcohol.

By monetizing the misery for decades while showing scientific reports indicating the general improvement to your life this product can provide? Innocent

I always loved those years when the Blue Angels zipped around in F4's. That body style burned itself into my young brain to where I still think that plane wins the style award compared to the Angels' latest rides.

Could somebody put out a sim where you have wings in a world with this fidelity already?? I wanna fly around in this, sans mechanical bits, damnit, but with similar speed and power constraints. Maybe a Fallen Angel open-world where a bunch of formerly useful family members didn't laugh at Dad's fart joke and were tossed down to an unoccupied little speck of waterworld where they could, in His words, 'Learn funny.'

LeSigh. It shore does look purdy, tho.

F*ck George Lucas and his "Midi-chlorians". He purged the credit he got for creating Star Wars when he turned around and destroyed it.

Not that I am bitter or anything...

Quoting myself from earlier times in here: "But.. midichlorians. Won't you think of the invasive alien species's children..?! SOMEBODY has to love Star Wars, or they'll die! And then how will Jedi be all awesome 'n shit, without their invasive li'l pals connecting them to what used to be an energy field created by all living things, surrounding and penetrating us, putting binds on everything in the galaxy..?!"

My inner-geek has not changed its mind. I'm with you.

Just set your expectations in the garbage-range and you will be ok with it.

My standard balanced view: everything's crap. I prefer to be pleasantly surprised when non-crap makes its appearance than suffer dashed expectations. Balances out quite nicely.

Nobody is saying oil didn't build modern society. What we're saying is now that we understand the massive threat that burning fossil fuels poses, we need to develop and implement alternatives, and quickly.

Good for Greta and the other kids. We'll be dead before things get too shitty, but they and their children will have to live with the consequences of our inaction.

You think they're pissed off now, wait til they get a load of the nuclear debt thrown on the backs of them and their dna-chains for the next few thousand years by way of having to manage all the pools of spent nuclear fuel rods 'n such.

If asked today, I couldn't argue that a bit of a Logan's Run kind of rebellion against those above the age of 30 isn't deserved.

The idea of there being a "me" is unsupportable anyway. It's an artifact of complex sensory input and episodic memory. There's no actual continuity of self.

Sounds like something that'd come out of J.C. Denton's mouth hole..

Speaking of "aliens", here's the latest Joe Rogan interview with Cmdr. David Fravor and his encounter with the "tic tac" UFO is shown and discussed in detail:
eye witness accounts are at the bottom of the reliability barrel

By 2 air force pilots with 1 copilot each all telling the same story independently, with high placed government officials involved in an inquiry and his own fighter's camera recording ( operated by his copilot ) as evidence?

There's healthy skepticism and there's... well, whatever you suffered from in that comment before even looking at the video/evidence/testimony.
You ever seen an optical illusion.
Ever notice how astrophysicist's never see ufo's. But you go on and enjoy your little podcast.

Save for the fun fact that these particular illusions were locked by on-board radar of our warfighters looking for trouble during operations, I'd agree with you. Add in the hilarious fun fact that the U.S. Navy recently stated that yes the vids are real, but no, permission was not given for their release.. yea.

Y'know. Save for that, I was was right there with ya.
