It starts getting much better once you reach the expansions, though the slow pacing of storytelling never stops. Problem is a lot of players never make it through A Realm Reborn and its patches to even start the first expansion, let alone the even better ones that follow. Starting from the beginning now with the hope of playing the newest content is daunting, to put it mildly. You'll get there eventually, but unless you're a marathon player, it will take months to reach.

Huh... is it really that good? I was thinking I'd wait for it to show up on gamepass or something, but people seem to really like it.

Exact opposite for me... don't like Mech games, but interested because it's a Fromsoft game.
Oddly enough, it was Yakuza 4 I started with (and it hooked me on the series), but there is continuity between games. Best to start with Yakuza 0 or Yakuza Kiwami (the remake of 1).

I refunded it, despite being on a high-end PC, due to the sheer frequency of bugs. I'll happily buy it again when things are patched up. I want to play it when the developers say it's ready; not the executives.
This is probably my favorite game in the series and the perfect starting point for newcomers. I hope it does well on PC.
A patch did go live late last night, but I'm not sure specifically what it fixed, if anything. I did take a few troubleshooting steps and got the game stable, and have been enjoying the hell out of it. But troubleshooting should not be a part of playing a game for the first time...
Yeah, definitely sounds like it could be 2 or 3 years out... maybe even further. Then again, Todd could always show up, announce the game, and say it's out in November alongside a collector's edition with a wearable gauntlet that syncs to a companion app.

I wonder what's going to happen to Desura. If the digital distribution platform is taken offline, and everyone loses their libraries, it won't be pretty. This might turn into a small preview of the Steampocalypse.
I'd like them to really work on Tourism. That's one thing SimCity 2013 actually did better. But overall, Cities: Skylines is a better product, and the way they are supporting the product post-release is excellent.
I got through the first wing and the class challenges in about 30 minutes. That's not much value for the cost per wing, even if you go all in and buy the whole expansion all at once to save a few bucks. I suppose I could spend some time on the Heroic challenges, though I've yet to decide whether those are more fun or frustrating. In any case, it ends up being a lot of money for a small number of cards that you pretty much need to keep up with the curve. It's good content; don't get me wrong. It's just overpriced.
I seriously doubt that any money they earn from this will be worth all of this bad PR. I can't fathom what they're thinking right now. And once the modding community gets to it and does everything the devs don't want them to... I get the feeling this will be the one and only PC release for Team Ninja.
Now that Blizzard has got another money printing machine, I wouldn't be surprised to see an "adventure" or expansion every quarter.

As much as I want to have some hope that this might be a decent product, I can't seem to find any.
I've completely lost patience with waiting for PvZ 2 on PC to the point that I am entirely fed up with and completely disappointed in Popcap Games, and of course, their EA overlords.
