Whelp, SP only ruins this for me... Some of my favorite gaming memories are from RTCW multiplayer, running around with my clan, dominating! I ran with The Lion's Den back then and it was really my first time joining a clan or guild or whatever you want to call it. Met some good people and had a lot of fun on their server...

I even got into making maps for the game and just had a blast doing it. I was trying to be the first to make a Lion's Den map for the clan but someone beat me to it. Probably better that way as my maps kinda sucked, lol! But man it was fun.

I don't think I played more then 10 minutes of RTCW single player. I knew there was a "supernatural" element to that game and I hated the idea of a damn good WW2 shooter being ruined with zombies and ghosts...

I really liked the first one. Had a lot of depth and kept me entertained for a long time! I'm looking forward to a sequel for sure! Too bad I blew my load funding Camelot Unchained's kickstarter or I would have kicked in a few ducets...

The Kickstarter for Mark Jacob's new project, working title "Camelot Unchained", went live today. If any of you enjoyed Dark Age of Camelot's three realm RvR combat, I think this new project will interest you. They have a ton of different pledge tiers and even $50 gets you a copy of the game, 2 months of subscription, early access to the beta, and a whole bunch of other goodies.
Please check it out. I still play DAoC to this day and I think it is the best MMORPG to ever come out. I have high hopes for this new game and really want it to succeed. I have no doubt that they will meet their kickstart goal but I want to drum up as much interest as possible.
I haven't seen much coverage here on Blue's though.

I want this game to be fun SOOO badly! If I spend half the time playing D3 as I did D2 I'd be happy to call it a success. As of right now, I can't stand the thought of playing it for even a minute more.
I miss Skill Trees the most and I know nothing will ever bring them back. I was mere moments away from resubbing to WoW when I decided to try out the free trial. I am glad I did as I found out Blizzard removed Skill Trees from that game, too!
What is Blizzard's deal with Skill Trees? Why do they hate one thing I loved most about games where you level up a character? Planning a build and working towards that build was something that kept me coming back to D2 over and over. Laying out a level 99 Necro build and trying to achieve it was one of the longest lasting goals I ever had in a video game. I only made it to level 94 before I just absolutely burned out but it still kept me interested for literally YEARS. Diablo 2 is STILL installed on my computer! I STILL remember my B.Net password for my first account! I don't think I know my D3 password anymore...
Thank god for PoE and the HUGE passive skill tree! I am loving my fire Witch so much right now!

I have been waiting for ANYTHING even remotely resembling a sequel to Dark Age of Camelot for, oh, about 12 years now... I still have a sub to DAoC and play it almost every day. It was my first MMO. It was the BEST MMO. I simply cannot wait for this! This may be the first thing to actually get me to donate to a Kickstarter...

I just built myself I killer new rig. It is by no means the most powerful system in the world but compared to the computer it replaced the difference is night and day.
I have tried many new AAA titles looking for something to bring it to its knees and so far haven't found much that the rig can't handle.
I thought Far Cry 3 would to do but no. While it looks amazing, it runs like butter. I have heard Metro 2033 is a beast but it is 2 years old and I find it hard to believe a game that old could tax modern hardware.

Even Planetside 2 plays smooth save the few times there are 200 players attacking/defending one base. DayZ looks freaking awesome with max details but still runs like butter.

What game do you all think is the most taxing on modern hardware?

Thanks,
Lax

Let me correct this: "Shitty demos kill sales"

There, it's fixed. If your game is good and I play the good demo, of course I'm going to want more. If your game sucks ass and the demo shows it, then why the hell would I blow $50 or $60 on the game?

The stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me.

The first demo I ever played was for a game called Kingpin, WAYYY back in 1998 or 1999. The demo was over 100MB and at that time, it took me a day to download it LOL. I had so much fun with the demo, I bought the game the day it came out. Still to this day I consider it the PC game that got me started in PC gaming all because the demo was so much fun. I still have the demo saved on a ZIP disc somewhere (though I don't think I have the Iomega Zip Drive anymore...)

The closed/open beta for Diablo 2 (I can't remember which it was) was my first introduction to games of that type. The first time I equipped a plain white axe on my character's ragdoll, I was hooked. D2 was the first game I ever pre-ordered.

If developers make good games, and release a demo that shows off how good the game it, I will buy the game. If a game LOOKS good but there is no demo, I pirate it. If I like it, I buy it. It is as simple as that.

I live in the real world where people who work on good products need to get paid to continue working on good products. If your game sucks so bad you are embarrassed to release a demo, you don't deserve my hard earned money, PERIOD. Games have gotten to expensive to roll the dice with my $50-60. I'm not rich. I can't afford to burn 100's of dollars taking chances that games will be good.

Guild Wars 2 and Diablo 3 are the latest examples. I consider both of them total wastes of money. If I had gotten into a beta test or if there was a demo/X day free trial I would never have flushed my $60/each down the toilet.
World of Warcraft's 14 day free trial just saved me a ton of money too. I was literally 4 button presses away from buying the whole series when I noticed the 2 week trial. An hour into it I realized Blizzard had ruined yet another game I used to love and was so grateful I saved my money.

Dear Devs,
Stop making shit games. Release demos/free trials when you make good games. It couldn't be easier.

TL;DR
Shitty demos kill sales
Quality demos boost sales

That is all,
Lax

Return to Castle Wolfenstein was the BEST multiplayer FPS I ever played. I spent more time playing that online then any other game save Dark Age of Camelot.
I played the single player campaign for about 15 minutes one time and never again. The multiplayer was where it was at! I even got into making maps for the game and that was a lot of fun.
The sound of that mauser firing would make me cringe down in my seat waiting to get sniped from across the map, lol!
I hated Enemy Territory though. Too many changes I didn't agree with. Here's hoping the multiplayer for the new one will be just as good...

"The system is all about letting players fight for the sake of fighting—you don’t need to worry about objectives, rewards, or scoring, and that’s exactly what we love about it."

I read that as, "We couldn't be bothered to make objectives, rewards, or scoring, so we are going to pretend this is how we wanted it all along."

I can't believe I'm about to say what I about to say but, I FUCKING hate Blizzard now... For years all they did was make THE best games. Every release was another groundbreaking blockbuster of a game that I knew I would be playing for a very long time. Now, I look at what they've done to franchises I loved and I hate them for it!

Just stop making games Blizzard. You have ruined everything good about your games so just stop.

I try to like this game. Really to love it. But I just can't get into it like Dark Age of Camelot got me or even WoW really. When I finally got in a good guild and started raiding high level stuff WoW was an absolute blast. It got old like anything but GW2 doesn't get me even a little bit interested. I hate the how the skill (non)trees work. As much as I like their take on questing and whatnot I miss the standard quest lines and being able to run instances with a group.

I'm glad there is no monthly sub and that I can play anytime now that I wasted $60 on it but I never last more then an hour and that's if I play once a month... So much potential!

This was BY FAR my favorite RTS of all time! I would play this game for hours and hours! The AI, even on the highest and hardest settings, was a joke though. I could win a game without building one single groud unit. Just research and build massively overpowered base defenses, like the hellfire howitzer, until I had the best aircraft tech researched and build 3 dozen planes with the best missiles and start bombing runs.

I still loved the 3d terrain and the tech trees and everything about the game. From what I read in the release notes, they have tweaked the AI significantly so I am super excited to play again.

Go Warzone 2100, GO!!

The only things you can buy with real money are different guns. You can't buy upgrades to skills or weapons. You can't buy cert points. I don't understand how this is pay to win? Battlefield Heroes is way worse

There are nicer ways to ask for these things but I agree, that should be tagged for sound or throw under Media.

Sorry about the attitude in that post. My heart was still racing and I was getting some seriously shitty looks from coworkers I can barely stand as it is.
