Correct me if I am wrong, but before the game was available for sale and pre-purchase didn't EA and Maxis make clear the requirements, DRM, constant connection, and etcetera? Not to mention the reputation of EA, which should well have been a clear indicator of what to expect. I'm just interested that so many people are angry, when information was readily available right at their fingertips allowing them to make an informed purchase. Two examples of publishing choices that have affected me due to similar reasons, but completely differently are Anno 2070 and Diablo 3, of which the latter I no longer play for various reasons including the constant internet connection requirement (which I was aware of before buying).

A good effort, if a little expensive. I would much prefer a HD update for the original, as I never really found II very immersive. The voice acting was horrible too.

I bought this when it came out, it was fun for the time that I played it, though I found the skills got pretty boring (darts darts darts!). I uninstalled it a long time ago and haven't played it since.

Diablo 2 LoD was never removed from my computer, and I always wanted to jump in and play. Pretty large contrast.

I'm glad I didn't buy it, but I am curious how many people here commenting have actually played it?

I've only been duped a couple of times from production companies because I got caught up in the hype. It's a good lesson I suppose.

Regarding outsourcing - I remember Deus Ex: HR outsourced the boss fights (correct me if I'm wrong), which were very out of place in the game. I assume it was due to bad communication.

I find it hard to believe there will be a market for this, considering a Half-Life 2 mod called NeoTokyo had an unfortunately short lifespan.

Bad timing - uni just started again =(

Though, that should be enough time for people to update my current mods for it *screeeee!*

Sounds like they're really piling on the cheese, I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

I hate dub-step.

A trailer about some guy who 'tweeted' about a game and the adorable naïveté of himself and Bethesda.

Sounds like something Valve would do - "We'll be unveiling our next big project soon! Be sure to constantly check our website!". A week later - "Oh yeah sorry, we didn't intend on giving people false hope about HL3"

Pass.

The other options were worse than the original cover - they really didn't put any effort into this. Of course, all of the alternatives included in the vote had 'empty space', which I assume would be filled with text and logos etc.

One thing that really irritated me about this game, is that after installing it, Steam required me to download an update or wanted to optimise files that amounted to around 10 gigabytes.

Installation takes that much longer, limits me from online play, and takes up 20% of my monthly download limit. I'm really not too interested in installing this again.

I've said this before - it wasn't a bad game, just an underachiever.

As alternatives, they all look pretty terrible. The person who designed each one obviously has talent, but no imagination.

Now I'm not a Warhammer fanatic, but I loved Dawn of War 2. One thing that ruined that game however, was the fact that I could only play single player as Space Marines - what a boring faction. There are so many to choose from, and each game just reproduces the 'same-old'.

Original Sin reminds me of the first Dungeon Siege. I didn't play Dungeon Siege for the story, yet I do hope they don't disregard this as the narrative seems to have such a strong impact on games in this age.

I loved the black & White games, which is the most recent game Peter has been involved with that I have played. They weren't perfect, but I enjoyed them both for just how unique they were at the time.

Compared to other Kickstarter's, I don't think he's asking for very much. But I wish he had left room for at least another month.

I don't give money to any Kickstarter, as I prefer to know I will get what I want in return, and I have no interest in the little bonuses offered at each price point. I do hope that this Kickstarter is successful however.

Excellent News! Looking forward to it. I do hope that Xen is completed soon, I don't like the episodic content model of game delivery.

BMDM = Black Mesa Death Match? Personally, I don't really mind if that is missing.

Now all I have to do is wait for Natural Selection 2 ... scree!

Except for the optional mini-games RAGE was fun, which is exactly what a GAME should be. Graphics were pretty disappointing, as was the AI. Weapons and weapon sounds were awesome, and some of the level design was really cool - city shopping centre caked with bug excrement and infested with giant insectoids! The whole game just finished so abruptly, and the ending didn't leave me wanting more. It was overall a very "meh" experience.
