Im going to say it: I fracking love this game. Yes, you HAVE to play it with a gamepad and need to use a mod to play it at a custom resolution, but once you get past that it's so enjoyable.
Really challenging with smart, fun combat and the level designs are really good.

All and all, playing it with the resolution hack and a pad it doesnt really feel like such a bad port as everybody is making it out to be.

You know, I really tire of Valve's smarmy attitude at times. What a dickish thing to say. You can't just come out and state the date outright? Or maybe no one at Valve is "interested" in doing this and it won't happen untill someone is, right?

My guess is that these sales take a lot of work and planning, they have to create the bundles (which sometimes includes custom game content which goes along with the sale's theme). They need to agree with developers on the bundles too and so on.

The worst thing you can do is give a date you are not sure you can make, if you've ever seen any threads on the steam forums on the release day of a new game you'll know how crazy people get when their game is two minutes late.

Is it sad that all I want from this sale is the DLC for Arma II just so I can get the DayZ characters to be displayed in high resolution?

Orion: Beatdown is a terrible game made by a terrible dev. First official kickstarted game out there and it's horrible.

Let's be fair, Double Bear is a completely different company.
We all knew there was some shaddy stuff going on the Orion project from the start, and Im not surprised that it was terrible, though Im still surprised there's people still defending the game after basically getting scammed.

Even though Hydrophobia was one of the worst indie games I've ever played I feel sorry for them, they tried really hard, I wish good luck to the developers and hope they find another job soon.

EDIT: Ok, after reading that I realize it sounds terribly sarcastic but Im not

Im sure they had a perfectly good reason for the regional lock. Too bad, that's their loss (i was actually going to buy this game), now Im just going to spend that in Alan Wake (that's coming out in two weeks, isn't it?).

LA Noire is very fun, I hate the main character but looking for clues and interrogating people (provided that Phelps doesnt flip and starts randomly shouting) is entertaining.

I heard the same rumor about SMS, which would be good since they been doing a nice work with their Cars project. I hope this is more in lines with NFS: Porsche Unleashed and less like TDU2

Seriously though, I actually wanted to ask whether it's a one-time payment or a monthly fee. I even read about half of the Terms and Conditions but it wasn't mentioned there explicitly.

Haha yes Im sorry, I wanted to spread the word because I like the game but I was too lazy to type a new comment

It's a one time payment. The idea is that the game is eventually going to be released as a free to play supported with microtransactions (they have some estimate prices on their design doc, it seems affordable enough, like $1 per item or so).
What you get by paying now is early access to game builds and what would basically be modding tools, so you can create custom content and sell it for cash.
According tot he design doc, by buying the tools you are considered a team member and you'll be paid back a bit after release, but Im not entirely sure how this works.

I just tried this game and lord it’s amazing. It uses Shift’s engine, but for some reason it looks way, way better (making it IMO the best looking racing game I’ve seen on PC) and it runs like butter (something Shift 2 didnt).
There’s all kind of PC style options like being able to hide the wheel and setting individual FOV for each camera.

I’ll admit it though, it’s a little abode my driving level, but it’s truly fantastic and very promising. There’s also a really nice selection of cars (some of them classic Formula cars) and they are very detailed (the fully working suspensions, engine parts and texture quality scares me).

This makes me want to get a wheel so bad (yes, I played with an Xbox pad, sue me).
Sorry if I sound overly exited, but all the PC racing sims I’ve tried until now where rather impenetrable and.. well.. dated looking.

TM2 is good but it's pretty much the same thing as usual. If you liked the previous games and are into drifting you'll like this one too, but dont expect anythign else other than a rathe rimpressive graphical update.
There are some issues with the car's handling in loops and while wall riding but for the most part is very enjoyable.

I tweaked the FOV and the movement speed when you strafe so it's not slower than the forward speed (it's a cvar on the same file the FOV is) and the game became very playable.
I really like it, the maps are great an the gameplay's solid, it's also not as broken as everybody makes it out to be.

The only problem I have with GFWL is that it's not available in my region, therefore I cant buy the game where I live.
Sigh, I guess I'll have to pass it, it's a shame because I really liked the first one (Live titles were available back then).

And that's why I buy on steam, not because I like the service (though I really do), but because they are the only ones who let me (Impulse used to let me buy games from them too, but after the adquisition I cant buy anything anymore).

You can still buy and play the game where you live, you just create an offline account through GFWL, which can be done without ever connecting to the internet or sending data to Microsoft. If you do that it will work just like a user profile in most games; only used for storing saved games locally.

You'll miss out on the online leaderboards for single player timetrials, but there's no proper multiplayer anyway. And you can still buy through steam if you want.

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/Live/PC/FAQ#title10

How? I already have a GFWL profile, If I look for the game on steam (or any other store) it says the game is unavailable in my region.
