I'm also sick of these bullshit millenial articles when they only really apply to a tiny group of people who live in a major city where everything is fiercely competitive and expensive. There's plenty of other work to be had in all kinds of places, but no, they don't want to move to those places. There's plenty of good paying work in the trades but no that's hard work. This is entirely an issue of their own making. I come from a family of tradesmen. My nephews and their buddies never lack for work, make great money, own their own house, truck, tools, yada yada yada. Listen up kids, the world owes you nothing. Work sucks. That's why it's called work and not 'super happy fun time'.

Here's the flipside to your own bullshit.

I'm a college educated Canadian. I've been on the job hunt for a few months now - again - same as every other year or so. Only this time around I can no longer get a callback. It's not a lack of job postings or a lack of effort either. I'm honestly starting to think there's something broken in the system that doesn't connect people effectively anymore. You can't accept a job that doesn't get offered to you. Do HR people google / facebook first then consider looking at a resume second now?

And NO I'm not waiting on some kind of ideal career. I'm just looking to pay the bills. At this point I'm honestly considering putting groceries on shelves again. Same as I did as a teenager. Only now I'm 40 and graduated college twice in both French and English - which makes me look like a risky hire who won't stick around a minimum wage job. But all it's ever gotten me is a heavier plate with a side of ass kissing for the same pay as some slacker who barely got through high school.

You're right there's plenty of great jobs in trades. From a family of tradespeople too - all about lumber. But do you remember the message we all got in the early 90s? Technology, technology TECHNOLOGY!!!!

And then what happened in the early 2000s? Oh geez, the IT bubble burst. Well why the hell did you study technology dumbass? Trades are the future. What? You thought you were too good to get your hands dirty? Just because absolutely everyone around you, family, society, economy all pushed towards a different direction?

At least millenials are getting a straight answer instead of incessant bullshit. It might suck to hear but at least they're not being blamed for having followed the path presented to them.

Either way, our future is fucked.

Absolutely NO ONE needs an "I told you so" about Lyme Disease, especially not some bullshit religious text version of it either.

What we have needed are medical professionals willing to honestly consider Lyme Disease as an actual possibility within North Americans. It's less of an issue in the States but holy hell doctors in Canada will go to extreme lengths FOR YEARS to avoid testing people.

No - fuck you doctor it's not just fucking depression!@!!

So finally time to ditch Firefox and get Chrome? Or is there a better browser for Win10?

Disney sponsors a gamer youtube personality. Who's the fool here?

If they expected him to change the tone of what he does, then they're sorely misinformed about the reason he's so popular.

Well... Kevin Smith is also part of that Maker Studio mix. And from what I remember back in the day if food wasn't going into his mouth the word fuck was coming out of it.

Yet, not hearing any sort of hassles with him

I don't think it's that Disney expected him to change his tone, they just didn't expect him to go full-retard. It's not the early 90s anymore you can't claim "I didn't think they'd do something shocking on the internet for a dollar" as a defense anymore - at all.

I dunno, man. This guy didn't sell a dime bag to his buddy....he threw a 3 1/2 foot alligator at a person. Would you feel differently about his criminal behavior if the drive thru employ had had their hand mangled? It's also not like he was a dumbass 17 year old....we're talking about a grown man of 24 years. I'm not worried about the record affecting his future, because if he's pulling shit like this at 24 he probably already has his future all mapped out....

I'm with you on that. Also worth noting this winner is also a single dad - one who's own father tried to defend alligator tossing because he always had a pet lizard...

I guess it's not entirely his fault he's an idiot.

But realistically whoever decided on that setup is just as responsible for the aftermath as the kid (if not more).

Reminds me of the provincial politician who visited one of my employers years ago and regaled staff with his 'upgrade' method of 'accidentally' using the cd-rom tray as a cup holder then 'accidentally' closing it and soaking the system in coffee.

We all kind of laughed and thought he was trying to be funny / edgy until he assured us it worked and had seriously done it at least once.

Stay classy New Brunswick... you won't ever get my taxes again.

This would be OUTRAGEOUS in any other industry. They're taking your money in exchange for garbage software while giving the barest of fucks about what it is they're selling you. Does the candy we're selling have arsenic in it? Who cares, they're selling like hotcakes! Push that shit out the door!

Arsenic? No. But lots of candy IS still coated in shellac. They call it E904 now so people don't connect the dots between the shininess of their candy and the shininess of their varnished furniture but... there's a very good reason why certain things only melt in your mouth and not in your hand.

The behaviour isn't new. It's just a new market / store front. People still buy candy essentially coated in shiny bug shit, so yes, it stands to basic reason that people will still keep buying half finished digital goods too.

This is one of those semantic issues that really gets under my skin.

Samsung's Gear VR - IS NOT ACTUAL VR!!!!

It's a headset for viewing 360 degree video / augmented reality - not actual virtual reality.

Yes, it's way more immersive than typical media. Yes, it's a great experience. Yes, it makes you feel like you're really there - the first time.

But after that first time? Once the novelty has worn off and you decide you want to control your own experience and see what you want to see? Well... forget that. While you're able to determine the angle and scope of your point of view you cannot control the actual point of origin. Your museum tour video is going to move from room A to room B after 34 seconds every single time you watch it regardless of what you're focused on at 33 seconds (unless you pause the video).

In game terms it's the equivalent to calling Duke Nukem 3d a 3d game because it's in the title. Anyone with a technical clue knows this is not accurate. That doesn't mean the product is bad or the experience is not worthwhile.

But to call watching 360 video the same as virtual reality demonstrates either a lack of technical knowledge or a lack of respect for the consumer. At least in Duke's case the idea of 3d gaming on pc was still very much in its infancy and they were cutting edge rather than releasing Duke 3d alongside Quake / Unreal and claiming to be technological equivalents.

We did it to ourselves when we refused to take ratings seriously. Same with every idiot parent who insisted on buying GTA5 / COD for their 12 year old then were upset when they heard profanities through the wall.

Don't like it? Go do something else like everyone else does.

How the actual fuck do you have a Van Morrison quote with an attitude like this? The ONLY reason you or anyone else is even aware of his music and lyrics is because of royalties and residuals that support creative endeavors.

Or should that greedy clown have fucked off from a career in music to do something else like everyone else does?

Fucking crab bucket of idiots screwing themselves over for the benefit of the executives taking full advantage of their refusal to stand up for themselves.

Seriously, EA screws over gamers with nickel and dime in-game DLC - fuck EA. EA screws over developers with brutal crunch time - fuck EA. EA screws over a classic franchise to hit a scheduled released with a half baked game - fuck EA.

A small group of creatives exercise their right to organize and demand fair and adequate compensation in line with the rest of the greater industry they operate within from companies like EA - fuck the workers?

Why the fuck or how the fuck could that even happen if you are paying just the tiniest li'l bit of attention to what the fuck you are actually doing?

I've had more than a few classic games not shut down properly in Steam when I thought I had quit them (and the icon in the taskbar went away). Load up another game, notice a decrease in performance, bring up the Task Manager and...

Surprise! that old .exe is still running the background and taking up RAM. And where I run a legacy system, it can have a noticeable impact on performance.

So it's not just a matter of having less than a perfect attention span such as your own.

PETA do a lot of good awareness raising, but this seems a bit misguided, and hurts their credibility.

No they really don't. For every instance of worthwhile awareness (like hidden camera footage of slaughterhouse conditions) there are dozens of incidents of people being publicly harassed and assaulted with paint etc.

And yes, PETA will always deny any association with the more extreme individuals but their stunts are still a result of the emboldened confidence they gain from seeing PETA in action.

Ultimately PETA is desperate for attention (or does no one else remember the lettuce bikini calendars from a few years ago?). They attacked what is ultimately a toy manufacturer with a very litigious reputation. They were hoping this would explode into the courts and provide a pile of free press so they could play victim to an evil corporation trying to stifle their attempts to save cute furry little animals (because seriously, they don't care about the boring looking ones).

Also it seems to me most of the fur on WH minis corresponds with a typical enemy that the character would face (and kill). As in they're wearing a war trophy rather than a fashion accessory, not unlike the skulls that can be found on just about every other mini they've ever produced.

But hey, it's PETA not PETH right.

Fair enough, thanks for the update. Still not keen on that price though, seem to remember the RB1 export only being $5.

Also being a PS player I believe I end up losing most, if not all, of my RBN content if I transition to the next-gen :S Ah well, never getting rid of my PS3 hahahaha

Don't understand the voice actor strike. Just put an ad out on the net and you will have people lining up to do it. Kind of like the Air Controllers strike, people just ignored them as they were replaced. Not as if there are few people that have the skills....

Oh yeah! It -is- really that simple. Doesn't anyone else remember how well it worked out during the writer's strike a few years ago? I mean we're all posting on the internet - proof we're all able to write. Why didn't TV shows enjoy a big boom now that union influence was removed?

I mean really, how AWESOME was that 2nd season of Heroes, am I right? How great does the $80 for a AAA title feel when a character opens their mouth and you hear an obvious intern reading words of a piece of paper for the first time?

Obviously no one is buying the product specifically for the voice actor but it's a factor in the overall quality of the product. Seriously though, if you paid $80 for a steak dinner and they served it with a foil packet of ketchup instead of some quality homemade accompaniment because they're nickel and diming their guest chefs would you still be siding with the restaurant?

That's not to say the actual developers don't deserve protection or better benefits either. But just because someone else has a broken leg doesn't mean my broken finger should be ignored. And just because they're choosing to ignore their broken leg doesn't mean I need to choose to suffer either. Especially not for the benefit of those who broke the bones in the first place.

Yet, here we are. Watching fans of the oppressed developers trying to oppress the right and ability of a creative peer from exercising their right to a better / fairer deal.

It's like watching a bunch of abused women beating on another woman for wanting to get out of an abusive relationship.
