After the massive disappointment that was Mighty No. 9 I feel that there is a lot riding on this game. If Ritual of the Night ends up a disappointment, it would pretty much be the end of the nostalgia-fueled kickstarter projects. People can only have so much faith when being screwed repeatedly. Unless you are a Star Citizen backer, in which case you'll just buy another $1000 ship that doesn't exist yet.

I think Steam made a mistake--should have gone to $500 minimum. IMO, if you can't afford that to get International exposure for your software, you can't afford to be a developer. Oh, well, they can always raise it again should this not prove enough of an incentive to keep out the crud...I'm sure it will help to some degree. It's too low, however--considering that whatever Steam charged would be fully refunded when the game begins to sell. I would like to see folks living at home on Mom and Dad & going to school priced out however--if you can't pony up $ knowing you can get it all back when you finish the game and it begins to sell, you can't afford to develop the game, imo. Way too much junk on Steam--just trash, really. Will be interesting to watch.

Yeah, all the things Ubisoft doesn't do.
I don't think that's fair. Ubisoft is churning out a lot of new IPs and new types of games (as well as yearly clones).
In what universe is this happening because it sure ain't this one. Head has it right, copy and paste games are what they make. All their games are the exact same just with different settings. All their games are 80%-90% needless grindy filler. All of them.

Who buys these? Im thinking kids, or rather their parents as I had a thing for Need For Speed, and Need for Speed 2 back when I was like 14-15 or whatever. (That's before I discovered true driving simulators).

Thought I had it on GOG but doesn't seem available or on Steam. I must have it on disk around here somewhere. Any idea why it hasn't been listed on GOG yet?Acleacius wrote on May 27, 2017, 06:41:
Yes, I'd rather have open world with actual missions/quests. Sadly, so far no ones been able to get that Elder Scrolls adventure 'wanderlust' yet in space.
Have you played Freelancer? Because that's what you're talking about.

That UK article is the scariest thing. They're actually openly saying that they want to control what people say, think and look at... I guess it's true what they say about evil people not realizing they're evil.
So, who actually would vote for such a thing? "Hey I want the internet to become just another platform for me to tell you what *I* want you to hear, and absolutely nothing else."
