And they wonder why VR is tanking. Who want to plat this scheisse, much less pay for it?

I thought that it was a really good fit for VR. One of the main problems with VR is movement. The type of game this is makes the weird teleport movement that most VR games do non-weird. The game itself looks boring and uninspired though :p

RPG? Right... This is a sports/strategy game with RPG elements. Zero interest. I respect these guys though, I'm sure the game will get good reviews, but I'm just not a big fan of them. I'm one of those who didn't like Bastion. I thought that it was boring and had bad controls.

Ah okay, never bothered with no weapon degradation mods. Vendors sell oranges like they're candy, and the few yellows I have, I just refurbish through the blue shield vendors when they break, so eh.

The crazy high weapon degradation is the main reason why I stopped playing the game. I love these types of games, and I even loved Dead Island, which also had weapon degradation, but I hate the way it's implemented in Dying Light to the point that I didn't like the game. It's not like I didn't give it a chance either, I got 11 hours of playtime. I heard about that mod a little while ago and I planned to play it again, but now screw it.

It's really not that high, though. You need to slaughter like 400 zombies for an Orange to break fully, and even then you can just refurbish it again. (and again, and again, and again, ad infinitum.)

I don't know about that, but my experience was, take best weapon, upgrade it, hit 10 times with it, it's broken, slide kick about a million times.

I like Neil, and I'm a big proponent of science, but I have zero faith in his game. The guy knows nothing about games and the Kickstarter pitch was vague and reminded me of No Man's Sky. I don't know which studio is supposed to make it, but there's no way it's big/experienced enough. I have even less faith in George's ability to help development.

I haven't played any COD in years, because, WHY???? But this game has always looked more like the classic arena shooters to me. Way faster and crazier that all the modern COD clones. Plus, it has pretty original features and the net code seems good, which is a major achievement. If I had to play a modern competitive shooter, this would be it. Now they're adding a full coop mode for free? I actually feel pretty bad that I'm not giving them money to encourage what they're doing. I just don't have the time to play a game like that.

Can't wait for this game. It looks so much like Dragonball Z Hyper Dimension, which I consider the best DBZ game of all time.

Could never wrap my head around the show which seemed to involve large amounts of time with two characters posing in front of each other followed by a lot of glowing and screaming... = \

Yeah, they're known for stretching one action sequence over 10 episodes. They re-released the whole series in blueray under the "Kai" name. It's a remastered version, but most importantly, it cuts almost all the filler and makes everything much tighter. You could try that. The new series, Dragonball Super, has at least something important happening in every episode. There's still some filler episodes I could do without though. Still love it.

I played it for a while a few months back. It was fun for a couple dozen hours but then it just gets SUPER grindy to make any progress without spending money. And I found the AI to be annoying. You spend all this time laying out traps and the AI will just go around it or break a hole in the wall and avoid everything you laid out. Smart for the AI? Yeah. Fun for the player? Not so much.

I don't like laying traps or tower defense, will I like this game?

I like the gameplay of games like Stardew I just can't stand the graphics. I hate that cutesy style crap. I'd love to see a game like this with a bit more realism graphically. Something like Fallout or NWN with being able to do all this sort of crafting.

I personally like it, but I get what you're saying. They did do some 3D Harvest Moon games and in my opinion, unfortunately, it changed the gameplay for the worse. It's like 2.5D platformers vs 2D ones. the 2.5D ones never feel as good, or at least, they feel like different games. From my elder scrolls modding experience, I think that what you want would be a pretty easy mod to do. I've had this idea a long time ago and I'm surprised there's nothing yet.

Here's the review - from a month ago - that really dissuaded me...

I guess that if you were a kickstarter backer, you might be annoyed. But the way I see it, I paid very little for a game that I loved. I then got several massive updates that warranted new playthroughs, at no extra cost. The next update comes out soon and I'm going to play it during a small lan party. This is the best game there is for coop lans and lans are essentially one the funnest things one can do in this world... Can't complain. I see it from a different perspective: the full game was released years ago. They've also released huge free DLCs. I don't give a damn if they call it alpha, beta or whateva... But you decide.

I'm not defending their price jump, but I can probably guess why the price increased and the timing.

They very well could lose their retail shelf space if the digital version is selling below the retail price (and it's not a temporary sale), hence the price jump.

As for the timing, Steam has a policy that you can't put your game on sale within 30 days of a price jump. I'm guessing they want to do a launch discount and their launch is just a little over a month away.

If they didn't announce the price jump, it could be because they didn't want people who were waiting for the exit of early access to buy the game at the reduced price.

7 days to die is still the gold standard for these games if you ask me. Is it worth 60$? I'd say sure, but I wouldn't pay that.

I considered grabbing that during the sale but all the recent reviews say the opposite of that. Apparently the game hasn't been updated in a year and the devs are, apparently, major fucking douchebags who have been censoring and banning people criticizing them for the lack of updates and criticisms of them. The game was supposed to be finished 3 years ago. From the sounds of it it's just another EA game that is slowly grinding to a halt as the devs get bored of it and are taking the money and running.

Are you talking about 7 days? I don't know what you're talking about... I'm not invested in the community, but I've been playing this for years and they release major updates to the game at regular intervals. There's so much new stuff that it warrants a new full playthrough with every major update. They're about to release the next one in the next week(s). Could they work faster? Maybe, but this is clearly a living game that will evolve during its entire lifetime. I've gotten 104 hours out of it so far and I loved every minute of it. Got a lot of enjoyment for my money. Honestly, I can't even imagine it being much better than it is. It has a fully dynamic world built with blocks similar to Minecraft, but it has better graphics and physics. Somehow, they got this to work so well that you can have huge cities with fully detailed skyscrapers and almost no impact on performance. It's not perfect, but I seriously don't understand how someone could complain about this game.

Played during the free weekend a while back, and found it way too grindy. Needs to dial back (not eliminate) some of the survival mechanics so more time can be focused on the fun parts of the game.

Since they have personal servers, that part is but a few clicks away.

I did a personal server and dialed everything to minimum and it still felt unfair and didn't improve the game.

I've played this recently for like 28 hours. It's your classic multiplayer crafting survival game. There's no terrain deformation. The difference here is that there's a whole dinosaur taming and riding mechanic. I personally have zero interest in the dinosaur stuff. I don't want to deal with this. If you ignore that, it's still a pretty good game of that type. It has strong pve and it's fun in coop. Didn't do any pvp because I have zero interest in griefing. It's not perfectly optimized, but it's running well for me and my brother. Can't complain about that. The game is on the frustrating side of things though. It's not well balanced and you don't feel like deaths are your fault. It just feels like the game randomly decides that you have to die for no reason. Other negatives are that the interface is bad and the game is waaaay too grindy. Ultimately, I'd rate it a 6.5/10. My ratings are lower than the average because I don't rate every game a 9. If I was to adjust it to a game publication rating, it would be an 8. If you actually enjoy babysitting dinosaurs and riding them, then you can raise that by half a point.

7 days to die is still the gold standard for these games if you ask me. Is it worth 60$? I'd say sure, but I wouldn't pay that.

Graphics are fine. It doesn't seem to have gameplay to match.

No, they're not. I want to see some crazy shit in 3D with the UE4 engine. Not some 2D low-rent hand drawn bullshit.

Gotta agree here.

I too would like this game to be an amazing game that I imagined, made by a passionate AAA team with a big budget, but all this doesn't exist. This does though.
