To be clear, I think that Steam has the best review system there ever was for anything. You really take it for granted if you always complain about it.
With that said, these positive and negative review bombings make it clear that Steam might want to consider a parallel review system called "reputation" or something.
Personally, I find their review system utterly worthless and don't ever read them. I avoid user reviews like the plague. I never find them very beneficial, as I don't know who the person is, or what else they liked. The sheer quantity of reviews makes it harder to browse them, and most are kind of dumb or deeply misguided, like giving a game many consider average great reviews because of something that isn't even in the game.

Thanks for keeping a 15 year old under-appreciated-by-the-masses game in our minds, Wesp5. I don't doubt Bloodlines 2 getting done owes a definite/definable debt to you. Probably should at least get a building in-game named after you, somewhere uptown where only the finer blood-bag hookers and idle rich make the scene. :)

The prices in the Epic game store are much higher than Steam.
But free is free I guess. So I have Fortnite and now Oxenfree.
For everything else, it doesn't compare to Steam.

Is it really a grant when they have to use Epic's software and platform exclusively?

Next and the subsequent updates were really solid additions. I have no doubt this one will be, as well. Whatever Sean Murray said/did in the past, it's the past. He can't change it, no one can. As long as he and his team do right by the customers going forward, they are doing the most they can.
A person who committed a crime 50 years ago is still guilty today even if they are now an upstanding citizen with a family and a good paying job (I guarantee the victim(s) of the offense still seek justice). Sean Murray's "crime" is he deliberately lied to millions to sell a sham product he knew would not have the things touted. He built his empire on a foundation of lies. There's no justification for any of it just because No Man's Sky has reached its current state.

I got this two months ago and wrote this review of it:
The tutorial of the game broke. I did absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. It took me hours of hair pulling to figure out that it wasn't my fault. I was stuck and couldn't progress further in the game. What a colossal waste of my time. What have the devs been doing all this time? The game simply doesn't work, encourage devs who treat you with respect instead of these guys.
That's pretty vague, could you be more specific? I picked it up over a year ago, and had no problem jumping to different systems, collecting a bunch of money, building a sprawling base, buying several ships, etc.
I recommend a restart, and maybe restart several times until you get a planet with a breathable atmo so you can roam around a bit without having to worry about managing your air supply.
A google search for tutorial crash no man's sky does not turn up much.

This game has had problems, but two months ago you couldn't get out of the tutorial? It's been patched up and extremely playable for like a year. Sorry to hear you had issues, but that's not the norm.
