Bethesda gets a pass for re-using the same engine for 15+ years, with the same garbage animations

I remember very well the animations from Morrowind, and the ones in Skyrim and FO4 are not even close to as bad as they used to be in that engine.
Go back and play Morrowind for a while to get an idea of how much they have improved actually. Not to say they're great by today's standards for AAA, but they have definitely gotten better.

PlayStation 3 Production Ending Soon In Japan.

Didn't realize they were still making these. I guess it makes sense, since some people probably have extensive libraries they'd like to keep playing.

How soon before we see a PS3 emulator on PC?

PS3 emulator for PC: https://rpcs3.net/

Still a long way to go but they are making regular progress.

Anybody on here get Blackwake? That game looks pretty fun, albeit a bit limited, long term.

Haven't played Blackwake, but I did play the PVK2 map that inspired it. I'm a bit disappointed that Blackwake doesn't have the kraken like in the PVK2 map, which will randomly eat one of the ships if time runs out in sudden death. If both ships/crews get eaten, there is a second round sudden death inside of the kraken's belly with the remaining crews battling it out on what's left of their ships. One of the most fun game modes I've played.

My love for his older games makes me want to try this, but having seen updates of its development for a long while now I really don't think this is going to be any good at all.

Loved super dodgeball, and the arcade version in MAME was fun to experience as an 'upgrade' from the NES version.

I haven't played this in well over a year; have they done anything to improve on the horrible loading times yet?

It's been noticibly better for me since about fall of last year. Getting stuck after an event still happens sometimes if there is an issue with the host you are trying to connect to. In these cases hitting alt+f4 and relaunching is usually the best thing to do.. unless you have a friend online and you can join them quick from the overlay, which will get you out of the loading dead-end also.

The best way by far to take part in events is to just use the quick event option on the cellphone, which puts you on call for a lobby for whatever game mode you chose. That way you can fuck around in free roam while waiting for matches to start

Re-7b is one of the best stunt/racing cars in the game, if you don't have one yet pick one up during the sale and drop all the upgrades you can in to it. Well worth it.

Maybe with all the competition entering the vr space now, there will be a full game or some kind of flagship software package that makes it a must-have platform. At least prices should be coming down rather quickly. I'm really glad to have waited to get on the vr bandwagon.

Thanks to all the early adopters for keeping it alive!

I really wish they had skipped this and just jumped into the overdue Volta. I've been sitting on my 3gb GTX580 forever, waiting for a card capable of 4k@60 max settings. This won't be it still. Where the fuck is Volta? >=(

Really? Wow that is a long wait. I have to say I run 4K 60fps on most games with a 1080gtx. Max settings is such a minor difference I would drop that requirement. I run a samsung 48" quantum dot HDR TV as my monitor and it is jaw dropping based on color and resolution alone. Lower some settings to get 60fps is not a big deal. IMO this 1080Ti is an amazing upgrade at that price, buy 2017 samsung HDR tv and you will never look back.

I have to disagree with this given some recent tests I did with running GTA V on a 4k TV. Turning down settings like grass quality, which is essential to hit 60fps minimum at that resolution, ends up looking considerably worse than 1080p with the settings set higher with msaa. Although 4k looks sharper, the overall look of the environment suffers too much for it to be a decent trade-off. This is on an overclocked 980ti. I'm just glad that 1080p looks so damn good on a 4k TV, as it can easily scale down to an exact pixel aspect ratio.

And with all those incredible demanding games out there , its about fucking time those card arrived ......................

Maybe this will be the card that allows people to maintain 60fps+ with max settings (including grass) in GTA V at 1080p+.

River city Ransom Underground turned out great. Already being heralded as one of the best beat'em ups of all time. PC Linux and Mac support out the gate with 4 player online co-op. Everything seems to be working smoothly, with the only downside I've seen so far being that you can't play online along with 2+ players locally. The devs said they are planning on getting this working though.

This game always seemed like a console focused title, though I'll probably give it a try as I do love medieval combat games.

Personally, I'm most looking forward to Mordhau, a decidedly PC focused combat game: https://mordhau.com/

Holy shit, this thing curbstomps the 7700K.

I was really not expecting that. Now i want to upgrade

16 threads on the AMD vs 8 threads on the 7700k. If you look at the single core data, the 7700k is still the stronger cpu.

For relative single core performance, see this image:

https://cdn.videocardz.com/1/2017/02/AMD-Ryzen-Chart-6.png

of course, with the boost enabled and the ram actually running at legitimate timings, this can only get better. the intel is running @ 4.2 ghz vs 3.4 on the AMD, so this could very well be a better chip at equivalent clocks. we should all wait and see some real-world benchmarking with this before jumping on the AMD2017 train, IMO. Have to say, things are looking good so far though!
