News Comments > Divinity: Original Sin 2 Released
5. Re: Divinity: Original Sin 2 Released Sep 15, 2017, 00:38 Jivaro

I have been trying to stick to a few rules regarding game purchases. One of them is to only buy the sequel after I have finished the first game at least once. I really enjoy playing D:OS but I am not quite done with my playthrough. Madden season seriously affects my time spent with other games. One of the (adult) kids is using my PC more than I do right now.

Going but what I have heard and seen so far, I am going to really enjoy the sequel.

I am glad I out 35 bucks into this.

This is the most popcorn worthy drama I have ever gotten out of 35 bucks and from what I can tell the game isn't anywhere near release. Talk about bang for your buck!

I'll have to check to see if I have this on Steam....but I have it on like everything else.

If you haven't ever played this game it's worth the playthrough. It doesn't hold up incredibly well to the test of time graphically speaking of course but everything else about it is just fantastic.

News Comments > Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass for Free
23. Re: Star Wars Battlefront Season Pass for Free Sep 14, 2017, 18:21 Jivaro

Yeah, I mean....it's Dice and it's "Battleblah"...they pretty much set the expectation that it be just as strong as any Battlefield game but with a Star Wars theme. That is the problem though....Star Wars is a story. An epic space opera of a story....but a story. Battlefield is first and foremost a multiplayer team-based FPS. On paper I think it is much easier to blend those concepts successfully then it really is in the real world of game development.

That said, had Battlefront released with a short campaign and say the Death Star DLC as part of the base game I think it wouldn't have been criticized nearly as much. Just my humble opinion as more of Star Wars fan then a online FPS fan.

Always love me a Spiderweb game. Is Jeff Vogel still doing these all by himself? (for the most part anyway?)

I find it to be difficult but Sine Mora is a great example of it's genre. Highly recommended, regardless of platform. The EX version on PC is a lot of fun and looks fantastic.

The Humble Store has some rockin deals right now. I am going to wait out the Pillars Exp pass and Tyranny+expansion a bit longer as I have no spare game time atm. IT IS MADDEN SEASON.

No but seriously, I picked up a few indies that have been on my radar for dirt cheap.

It's called the Journey, and they continue the Hunter character in Fifa 18. Apparently they are doing the something similar with Madden this year which is why I'll probably pick up both games (but will wait for the Super Bowl cause they offer a vastly discounted version).

I picked up M18, have yet to try the "Longshot" story mode. I am not sure if there are two different stories in it or if you can just pick from 2 different guys. It has some sort of extension within Ultimate mode as well but I haven't tried that either. I figured after a few franchise seasons I might give it a look. I don't have high expectations but I also don't have anything against them trying something new out every once in awhile either. I rather wish they did it more often given how incremental the changes are from year to year normally.

Never really got into soccer games before and picked up Fifa 17 (love my youngest nephew...cheating little shit, but I AM THE GAMER IN THE FAMILY!), and have to say I'm not very fancy playing it but really have been enjoying the single player story.

really? wow, I wouldn't have even given the single player story a look as the two I have tried in sports games, both being 2K basketball games, were boring as all hell. Now I am curious...have to check that out.

When I play Chess with my grandma, I call her a filthy whore every time I lose a piece. It's just a heat-of-moment thing. It's her fault if she gets offended. /sarcasm

I can respect that though...I mean you are telling it to her face.

Most of these folks talk shit behind a keyboard and/or a mic but when you see them doing face to face interviews they tend to take the intensity down quite a few notches. PDP and many others get caught up in their own hype or schtick. Just like any other celebrity, if you fall for your own image you can get pretty wrapped up in that rather than the reality of who you are....and many of these streaming folks seem a bit immature and/or young to already be shedding off their real personality for an online persona that they get adoration and money from. Reality will come down like a pile of bricks on their head when the audience finally tires of them. Nearly every celebrity that has had the luxury (or curse?) of young fame has had to go through a fairly public and embarrassing growing up period. Sometimes it kills their career, sometimes it doesn't. I don't see why streamers would be any different.

Alpha Protocol, at the time, looked great on paper and seemed like it was right in my wheelhouse. I didn't get around to buying it until it was 15 bucks or so, which I thought was a deal. I was so bored after just 2 hours or so that I turned it off and never returned. Most of the glitches and problems people talk about I don't know anything about because it put me to sleep so fast.

I can't stand Bannon, but he said one thing on his on his way out the door that is absolutely true. NK has enough conventional weapons pointed at Seoul to basically make our military threats absolutely worthless unless we are willing to sacrifice an estimated 10 million South Korean lives in the first 30 minutes. They are literally the fourth largest military..this isn't a child with a pellet gun pointed at the neighbor. That is what makes Trump's bravado so incredibly stupid. Kim is a sociopath that has never known anything but everyone around him doing exactly what he says. His cage rattling nuke tests are one thing, but now he is (once again) flying missiles in Japanese air space. Does he do that if Trump isn't pushing buttons with his flappy jowls?

Sure, NK isn't a direct threat to most of us but they are certainly a threat to global stability. Thinking otherwise is naive.

All of that said, I think the best thing to do is give them Dennis Rodman as a tribute of sorts.

One time use shaders is a new low for microtransactions but it figures that an Activision published game would feature them.

How I wish it was a new low. Sadly, it's been done before. Not exactly the same thing but nearly as bad are the timed ones. 7 days and then *poof*, gone. TERA is the first game that comes to mind but I am sure there are others.

I loved the game but there were some parts that just took forever due to the game mechanics. Something like this has the potential to either make that worse or better I suppose. My curiosity is piqued. I have to take a sea sickness medication to be able to use current VR tech though.

Disclaimer: I loved Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls...so my tolerance for excessive time spent "taking a shower" or "setting the table" is apparently pretty high.

I have always found "sign stealing" an interesting part of baseball. Every team does it and the unwritten rule is that if you don't want your signs stolen than do something about it. They only get in trouble for doing it when they use electronic devices of some sort to make stealing them easier. (in this case apple watches)

Than again, this is a sport with so many "unwritten rules" that not even the players themselves can agree on what they are and when they should/shouldn't be adhered too.
