Whew..... Whew

Sorry SpectralMeat, it doesn't sound like I'll be selling you my 780ti for a $100 bucks now.

I'll offer 160!

Having to look which kidney I no longer love the most, as the 560ti has done a remarkable job over the years, but this may be the game that finally does it in.

Grin....It's normally an arm people will give up, but I guess that would restrict you from playing the game. So yeah, one of the kidneys is probably the better option.

So I totally missed this one; has anyone played Penumbra: Necrologue? It is a TC Mod for Amnesia: The Dark Descent, which continues the Penumbra story line, and is a free download on Steam. Also available from moddb if you don't have a Steam copy of Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

I just happen to come across it searching for a status update on SOMA.

They have been doing that for a few years, I tried it - they failed miserably and I will never do it again. I got my game 4 days late...

Hmmm....well, I'll let you guys know how it works out.

60 Gig. Heh. Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and say that I'm never gonna download that...

I'd ponder getting the disc version, except it says DVD rom, which would mean it'd be on, what, 10 discs? So I think that's more a box where inside all they have is a download code...

7 Discs according to this

Thanks for info. I'm a collector of boxed PC games, so I guess I'll get my moneys worth.

I ordered it from Amazon and they guarantee delivery on 'release day', which is cool. That seems like a recent thing....

Oh you'll be fine. 780Ti is still a really fast card. The rest of the specs are top notch too so I don't see why you wouldn't be able to max out most settings.
I mean the 780Ti is faster than the 970 around the same speed as the 980 in certain games.

Thanks for info. If you're wrong, you're going to hear about it. Wink

Call me a dreamer, but I hope the 'Recommended System Requirements' will come 'close' to running at max settings. Pray

Looking forward to this. Crossing my fingers they develop this as well, and beyond, as they did with DE: HR.

Going to have to play through DE: HR Director's cut, which I still haven't played yet to see how much they improved over the vanilla version of DE: HR. I think it has been long enough to where a play through will be fresh enough.

SimCopter, that's great, but I don't think I could fly as well of what is demonstrated in that video though.

I haven't installed this mod yet, but looks pretty cool as well.

Juvenile (adjective):

....of, pertaining to, characteristic of, or suitable or intended for young persons...

Do you honestly think I was asking you to copy and paste a dictionary definition to me? Or is it more likely I was asking you to point out what exactly about the advertising scheme struck you as juvenile or childish?

This is what you wrote: I'm curious what do you mean by "juvenile"? It doesn't seem crude or in any way childish. Not really my thing either, but I'm not really seeing "juvenile."

So, you asked me what I meant by "juvenile". Since it can be defined/interpreted in different ways, I quickly and simply provided you with my use of the adjective.

Didn't realize that many people were into this shit.

I can appreciate new and fresh marketing ideas, but this is pretty weak and juvenile.

I've really enjoyed this game so far, especially being the first Sim game I've ever purchased and/or played <gasp!>; therefore, I don't have anything to compare it to, but the game seems to be 'very' well done.

There was some backlash towards the DLC packs you announced to launch alongside the game. How did the studio respond to that?

Phil [Robb, creative director] takes all this stuff very personally. We have a promise to the community on our website: ‘we’re gamers, making games, for other gamers’. It’s a difficult space, just talking about DLC at all, because I think gamers are so fatigued with the typical DLC cycle… but I think if [our strategy] was to be looked at objectively, you’d see there are a tonne of options about what you can have and how you can get it, and hopefully it will still feel very inclusive, even if you never buy DLC. It’s important to Phil and the rest of the studio to make sure that we’re never separating the community.

What a load of crap! It is almost as bad as Pete Carol's rhetoric and justification for a goal line pass play on 2nd with a Super Bowl win on the line.

From a quick read of that article, it almost sounds like they released the game early for additional cash flow so they could continue\complete development.
