Yeah, typical Microsoft MO; start a new project, throw bunch of money at it, manage/steer it poorly, then just abandon it......then off to another project, rinse/repeat.

Solution: Ditch Apple products (hardware & software). Problem solved.

Yeah, it certainly isn't what it was twenty years ago before it exploded; not as enjoyable or lucrative (at lower mid level positions). If it is something you absolutely love and want to be a part of, then the best thing is to do your time, learn as much as you can in as many aspects of the industry as possible, make yourself marketable, and then go indie. If you're going to devote that much blood and sweat, then devote it to being an indie to make yourself rich, not some other unappreciative-slave-driving-shmucks!!! You just have to do the time and learn the ropes first.....

I've never played a Witcher game, but this one (3) has peaked my interest; however, is it recommended I play 1 and/or 2 before playing 3? How are the KB&M controls, is it a good port?

OUCH!!! I felt your pain just reading your post. I'm sure a few choice words followed several times thereafter.

I wish they would just say eff it and port the whole mess to Arma3 already. It would probably solve a whole host of issues. Arma2 engine is just so shitty words can't adequately describe it.

I have not played ARMA 3 yet, is that engine that much better than ARMA 2s? How is the UI in comparison?

Just another 'CONSOLE' in the mix of consoles. I have no interest in consoles, therefore I have no interest in this.

I know that sounds like a PC Elitist attitude, but I just prefer a PC/KB+M for gaming.

Yeah....whatever! I'll believe it when I see how committed Microsoft really is this time around. Talk is cheap!!!

"....but also how we think about other popular gaming platforms like Valve, Origin, GoG, Oculus, etc. in the broader PC gaming ecosystem".

He actually mentioned 'Origin'? I guess there are some transparent features and benefits I'm not aware of. Atleast he didn't include UPlay, that is the worst and most annoying PoS of a DRM platform.

Some good all around features planned in Windows 10, but we'll just have to wait and see, as time will tell, as we've heard all this rhetoric time and time again.

I will say that I am cautiously optimistic......

IMO, the talent of the art department does far more for the visual enjoyment of a game than the potential of the renderer to pull off a lot of fancy technical bells and whistles.

Unfortunately Adam Adamowicz and his artistic gift is no longer with us: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Adamowicz Sad This guy was an art machine.

Hey nin, is that you grabbing/wanting the game, or is that Bethesda ready to take your money, or both?

This just kicked-up the excitement level for me. PLEASE DON'T SUCK!

Yeah, I thought the graphics looked a bit dated too, but maybe the video just doesn't do it enough justice.

Does anyone know what engine they are using? Is it a nextgen/modified Skyrim engine?

Well, after Brink...

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars was their last decent title, but sad to say they've been going down hill since. It will be interesting to see if we ever see anything much from these guys after this title fails to gain much traction.

Didn't they do one of the Batman games?

Hmmmm.....I would have never thought, but I had to do a search, and you're absolutely correct! They developed Batman: Arkham Origins, which I guess did pretty well too. So, I sit corrected. Embarassed

Thanks jdreyer.

There is one thing that Political Correctness will never be, and that is it will never be correct...So many strange & weird people obsessed with other people's personal opinions--a monumental waste of time and energy. The Politically Correct crowd would control people's thoughts, if only they could. What weakness--to constantly require reinforcement of your own opinions through the agreement of everyone around you! It doesn't bother me in the slightest whether people agree with me or not--it's their prerogative, and I wouldn't dream of telling them how they ought to think. All I ask is that they return the courtesy, but in general Political Correctness doesn't allow courtesy, and often doesn't tolerate reason, either. Hence I proudly brag that I am completely and utterly incorrect, politically speaking...;)

Well said WaltC! Thumbsup
